  1. last nights footy match (port vs richmond) up in the NT was the worst display of "skilled" football Ive seen in years. skills were non-existent. I understand humidity was high but the amount of fumbling was insane. If I had anything to do with the running of a club Id ensure each and every player used a decent amount of 'ghost grip', a gel you rub on your hands to help 'catch' the ball securely. The overall display was pretty poor IMO. Surprised Richmond didnt have the skills to win that game.
  2. seriously hope the 2 injured participants pull through ok was a big crash http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/two-critical-after-adelaide-hills-tarmac-rally-crash/story-e6frea6u-1226064685241 THE driver and co-driver of a Porsche 911 were last night undergoing life-saving surgery after a crash at the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally. The Porsche was negotiating a section of the rally route on Crows Nest Rd, Port Elliot, about 4.30pm Saturday when the driver lost control, slamming into two trees. The impact tore the Porsche apart, wrapping it around the tree and spreading debris over the road. Emergency crews were able to quickly free the driver but worked for over an hour to free the passenger. Both were flown to Flinders Medical Centre. According to the rally's website, the 1978 Porsche was registered as being driven by Milan Filo and Jason Rowley. A police spokesman said the occupants a 54-year-old Hallett Cove man and a 46-year-old Enfield man were seriously injured. "A left-hand-drive 911 Porsche travelling north on Crows Nest Rd has come over a crest in the road and lost control," he said. "The car has gone sideways and hit two trees on the right-hand side the passenger side." It is understood the driver had serious internal injuries and the passenger sustained injuries to his legs. Major Crash investigators rushed to the crash site and were last night continuing their investigations. The section of road was last night closed to the public. The Sunday Mail understands another Porsche and a Ford Focus competing in the event crashed in separate incidents earlier in the day. In 2009, Gary Tierney and David Carra, from Melbourne, died when their Porsche 911 hit a tree at Forreston, in the Adelaide Hills, during the Classic Adelaide Rally. In the SA round of the 2010 Australian Rally Championship, three of the competition's top drivers Scott Pedder, Justin Dowel and Matt Selley all crashed out. Rally organisers last night refused to comment.
  3. picked my r32 up to start running-in last thursday, only driven it home so far but was amazed at how strong the fresh Rb26 engine felt. definately a heap more power than my Rb25 even with only steel-wheel rebuilt turbo's the power/punch is pretty brutal. hoping to get out for a few days driving (running-in) soon. then can get back to boostworx for the tune
  4. congrats on the new car Munro enjoy it mate
  5. seriously wish I could still ride. would be so nice to get out into the hills again, in full control, and just blow my depression away. come home smiling after a few hundred kms of twisties and all's good with the world again. as it is at the moment all I want to do is rest in bed and see the day go past me, then the next.........etc my thoughts go out the the young riders' family.
  6. terson industries (larry & sue dossiter) can give you an approx cost over the phone, no isses with that. tell them Brendan wilkeson put you onto them & they'll look after you, that I guarantee. as for my depression, well its just that. stems from 23+yrs of knee pain, with say 17yrs of that classified as "severe/chronic pain" if I didnt have 2 children I simply wouldnt keep going thru each 24hrs and take the easy way out. they are the only thing that keeps me pushing on. as for finances, my home is for sale for 375k, after paying out the ex around 100k, and the borrowings Id be left with around 75k. I should not have bought the R32 nor should I have had the work done to the engine this year; my head simply hasnt been seeing straight for some years now; can see the past 3 yrs since Ive been on morphine & pristiq (anti-dep) I havent been making strong decisions motivated towards the future.... Took myself off some medication a cple of weeks ago to try to start thinking clearly again.
  7. My family friend, Larry from Terson Industries (in white pages), could give you a quote Jenna. regarding my stagea, was parked at home, vandalized between 2.30-6.30am. I wouldnt mind if the insurance co simply said either writeoff, or full respray. anything else doesnt seem worthwhile going thru insurance. Sort of over it to tell the truth. With my chronic knee pain all I can think of is topping myself. Not a nice way to go thru everyday simply trying to be positive to see out tomorrow.
  8. considering selling my stagea for a lowball price of around 10k. bought 6yrs ago for 18k, had over 30k in modifications over the years (parts/labour/tune/servicing) piston #5 is shagged tho, requires new rings, before ringland went walkabouts was putting out 230awkw tuned to 1bar, had seen 250rwkw at 18psi on the dyno. been dyno'd numerious times, and out to the track a handful of times (last time out lost compression to piston#5) if you know anyone after a 300rwkw-potential project car let me know, or pm me for my details - would simply require new rings to be back on road with 250kw, or larger injectors and forged pistons for the 300kw mark. stagea is currently at a crash repairer having all panels looked at, was graffitied friday night. Potentially a complete respray, not sure tho atm. Will know more regarding the paintjob over the next few days I guess.
  9. the $500ono Tein shock/spring setup for R32 is fixed non-adjustable. sorry for not clearing that up
  10. Dont know when my stagea will be back on road. along with the bottom end problem (ringlands) she got vandalized early this morning, graffiti in a variety of areas.

  14. to tell thr truth, Id actually REALLY like to be a police officer. I think I'd be a very decent officer of the law. Using discretion at all times. having said that there is no way Id be accepted into the training, as without knees I cant run, cant kneel, am on medication & registered disabled. going on from that, I cant even continue with my Uni degree as I failed the First Aid Certificate because I cant kneel down to perform CPR. tbh life atm for me simply sucks not in a happy place atm. with this potential new defect law, anyone who has a somewhat decent job should really push for a el-cheapo company car, and do away with your own personal registered car simply for the hassel sake. Lets face it, if you own an import and this proposal becomes law then you're going to cop a reaming at some stage...... so to all you good hard working souls out there.... start pushing for a company car; defect problem then isnt yours but your employers.

  16. family cruise sounds the goods. just a real PITA that Ive got no funds whatsoever to fix my broken bottom end. doubt I'll be driving any further than 10kms until the end of the year. cant do the rebuild (around $4500 quote for a forged bottom end, stock size 86mm CP pistons) until the house sells. been trying to sell the house now for 1/3 of a year!!! 6th open inspection coming up and just cant sell! crazy times. pretty sad about it considering my house is my castle, and its a fricken big home compared to all others in the area. IF anyone knows someone looking for a 220sqm home on a 700sqm block in the nicest part or Morphett vale, (10 Christine street - opposite the walking/cycle trail, wildlife galore) Id be willing to pay a spotters fee if a contract is signed and completed. $3000 spotters fee? Really need to sell the house, as Im on disability, the morgage is maxed out, and cant afford to put anything onto the morgage if I still want to eat and have electricity. Not a nice feeling.

  22. i'll be dropping off the stagea to my mechanic, and picking up my track car rb26dett brand spanking fresh rebuild, 87mm pistons, pfc with 550cc inj. track car turnkey was this week, picking up in a days time or so for the run-in period. so yeh, as said in original post, wasnt keen to track the stagea that one last time, did anyhow, and have to move on with it.
  23. cause: previous track time engine overheated - boiled the fluids. this track time engine probably over oiled, oil on afm, detonation perhaps from fuel-mix, FCD overides AEM F-ic8 piggyback which overides remap ecu... being a stagea auto it was to be expected I guess, having being leaned on a bit to produce 350rwhp currently doesnt bellow smoke, but then again I havent given it much whatsoever since the incident. 100kms driven since, sedately. oil is leaking & burning away, engine bay has a black 'grime' around the place perhaps Rb30 bottom end time. we'll see.
  24. that was a cold cold engine, dry bores will do a warm compression test once battery is recharged. there was a common consistency across cyclinder 1-4+6, same with the plugs, #5 however isnt healthy ...even if the difference between warm & cold comp test is 40psi, the cold-start comp test tells me the bottom end is tired. the comp.tester is brand new, proper screw-in type, works brilliantly
  25. thanks for the well wishes. I'll probably try a warm compression test (new sparkies in, charging battery at the moment) later today. afaik piston #5 is farrk'd so it's probably best if I leave it with the experts. my house is for sale atm since the split last august, so I really shouldnt be thinking about doing anything further to the car myself. leave it with my mechanic and take it slowly, no hurries no rush. bed in the rb26dett hcr32 sedan. 17" mags, 235-45 ku36 tyres single piston stagea rear brake setup, qfm a1rm track pads, speed bleeders, braided lines 4-piston wilwood superlite 324mm front brake setup, wilwood track pads, speed bleeders, braided lines new coilover suspension, fully adjustable. camber arms, bushes, etc. half cage, bare interior. various guages.
