  4. united 98 is an ethanol enhanced fuel i believe i filled my excel up on it - got about 70 more kays outa the tank, ran nicer too

  16. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=1QoQQQAMfos finally got my exhaust done on my excel they are 4-1 extractors and you can hear they come onto song high in the rev range - around 3500 all the way to 6000 rpm redline there is a slight flat spot right at the start of throttle press - think i need to clean the IAC valve and check TPS meh, its not a skyline but whatever right ps - car was at operating temps already - and if you look carefully you can see a bit of smoke outa the exhaust, she burns a little oil (what do you expect, its a hyundai with 160,000kays and been thrased for the last 35,000 kays of its life)
  17. have you tried an ecu reset karl?? not sure on the nissan method of resetting the ecu, but on my excel you disconnect the positive terminal when the car is still warm - leave it for about 15 min, then drain the capacitors in teh ecu by holding my foot on the brake for about 20 seconds then reconnect the positive terminal straight away and drive the car for about 30 min so the ecu 'gets used to' your driving style

  19. i think you would want to retard teh timing a bit your aim is to advance the timing as much as possible - but it is based on 100RON fuel whereas your running 98RON - so you want to retard it according to that however - i think you can get away with a few degrees of timing advance on the crank angle sensor without knocking
  20. stick with NGK imho i read somewhere that you shouldnt have to gap a plug lower then 0.6mm 1 they start to burn out really quickly 2 the plug is no longer the cause of the problem - its the spark maker, in this case your coils i would recommend going to splitfire coils and regapping to around 0.7-0.8mm
  21. a cut and shut stock manifold has been found to have some flow issues at 5 and 6 cylinder, but those greddy look-alike ones are very good to make it easier for the ecu, i would go back to the one afm and the cheaper forward facing plenum (you are using a q45 AFM aswell yeah??) eug - the difference between the twins and the q45 throttles wouldnt be too great, as they are that big anyway, in a naturally aspirated configuration the one q45 would be ample
  22. more and more people are going microtech or even autronic autronic is actually a self learning ecu - just like the current ford ecu's (from what ive heard, pick, say 5 points, set the AFR's at those points, upload it onto the ecu, start the car, run the car up to limiter and ecu sets a perfectly straight AFR line) http://www.tfelectronics.com.au/PageFiles/pluginECU.html

  24. plugs gapped at 0.65mm seems a bit small to me but somebody correct me i would have them around 0.75-0.8 from what ive read...but i could be wrong
