  1. actually it made a heap of power for the time from wikipedia: Technical data The GT-HO 351 Cleveland motor produced over 380 HP (285 kW), and was fitted with a 6,150 rpm rev limiter. With the rev limiter disabled, it would pull 7,000+ rpm, even in 4th gear. they also were 4v heads but ur right - the volumetric efficiancy wouldnt have been like that of a ferrari or a porsche
  2. 3rd oct anyone.....??
  3. he wished its not fortunately
  4. i thought it was wa suspendors???
  5. go on then dan...... show us that nice 400r you decided was better damaged
  6. well - it wont buff out thats for sure however it doesnt look like its sitting crooked so thats a plus get a panel beater to have a look at it - you may have escaped with no chassis twist and only damaged panels and prob some suspension i would first find out whether its worth repairing b4 declaring it a 'writeoff'
  7. exactly eug it all comes down to r&d and the tune squish and quench are two very complex topics when dealing with pistons and compression ratio - something that is out of my league (its got something to do with a progressive pressure build in the cylinder so that it doesn't pre-doetonate) CR is almost as complex - generally (and i mean very broadly...) shaving 1mm off equals increase of 1 point CR some people say: ohh you cant have anymore then 10:1 max on a street car otherwise it becomes undriveable bullshit - the Falcon GTHO Phase 3 was (i believe) a very high 13:1 compression ratio, and was very very streetable (and this was on 95RON pump fuel) tuning the engine for the CR means often a great deal of timing advance and dwell angle with the sparkies etc etc etc but it is doeable just think of what honda did with teh ka20 engine in the s2000 - over 200hp from a 2 litre 4 cyl running around 12:1 CR on another note i would love to hear a high CR rb at high revs....
  8. meh my excels faster tehn that 16's if i try really hard prob
  9. to be honest - my excel is a blast to drive after a bit of suspension work i would recommend some g4 coilovers, bigger rear swaybar, front strut brace, full bush replacement get some decent tyres on some hyundai elantra 15" steel rims and your laughing okay its not fast, but they're chuckable around corners and the understeer is progressive after the suspension mods
  10. good move go the KKR480 turbo with KKR RB dump pipe ($899 and $149 from Otomoto) you need the dump pipe as its a v-band dump

    wicked sounds cool
  12. according to the ruling a car cannot have a rim width larger then 7" wide, unless it came from factory larger, which in that case they cannot be any larger (ie from factory 8", then no wider is allowed)
  13. rb30 for the torque win !!!!!!!! its torque that makes the power - and wins races......
  14. im looking at getting some second hand SSR type-c's for teh excel (15 inches) from japan hotness indeed.....
  15. rb30det with gt35/40 you could get yourself a rb30 n/a block for a carton (any more and the person selling it is crazy) or a turbo block for about 200-300 bucks max (the advantage of a turbo block is that it already has oil and water lines for the turbo drilled into the block) you dont have to go forgies (various combinations of rb25 pistons and rb30 or rb25 rods can get a multitude of compression ratios - eg rb25 na pistons on rb30 rods is around 9:1 i believe), and the stock rb30 rods can hold upto about 300kw (if shot peened and cleaned and balanced correctly), the rb30 crank is strong enough to hold 300kw (if not more) - probably only needs a light grind around big ends and then a linish read the multitude of threads that are around - you can spent lots and get a hipo engine, or you can spend not much and get an engine that makes only a little less power
  16. darren glass will get teh captaincy, judd will go to carlton, eagles will get picks 1 AND 3, will pick Cale Morton (brother of eagle Mitch) and another midfielder from the WA under18's side that demolished everybody else no sinking ship either - eagles can win flag in 2008 kerr, cousins, priddis, embley, stenglein, fletcher, rosa all competent midfield players
  17. in terms of outright power i dont think you will gain much, but you will increase the midrange and a bit of the low end, making it feel much punchier throughout the range
