  1. Did you consider I dont know, reading the thread?
  2. they are basically identical imo, 300mm vs 298mm rotors and the same calipers or something like that, nothing in it.
  3. don't change the regulator
  4. nothing like pawning your hard earned toys to pay for car upgrades
  5. We had it done to my mates 30
  6. You'll need 25det sensors if using 25det computer and loom, personally I'd use an R32 gts-t loom and computer with a nistune ecu as the 25det computer can't really be retuned (will be a big issue). Use rb20/25 knock sensors, Z32 afm, S1 rb25 TPS/throttle body. Basically get a loom out of an r32 rb20det and use it.
  7. no more than the S1/S2 rb25 from what I've heard, quite a few people have done it.
  8. The combustion chambers are smaller on the neo and there are quite a few differences inside, highly recommend keeping the VCT
  9. Just thought I'd say that VCT is one of the best things about the RB25, so I would definitely try and use it when doing the 30det conversion.
  10. If you are in VIC go see STATUS, he will sort you out.
  11. Open up the rb25 dyno thread and hit search and put in gt3076 and gt35, gt3582 for some results to compare to Well in that case I have no idea! heh is it possibly they don't do many RBs and have gotten it a bit wrong?
  12. If my car was finished and I had cash to blow I would seriously consider it, if by some fluke of nature you have it lying around in a month or two I'll hit you up
  13. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1 there are gt35s in here that are making boost about the same as your turbo, it is definitely laggier than I would expect. Are you going to a reputable tuner? Or is it just some backyard place?
  14. Certainly interested to see this
  15. it isn't a 3076, it is a 3076 core, eg the ball bearing core, it probably is just a very mild BB highflow.
  16. Call them, worth a shot, they might do it with a restocking fee, pretty good idea imo. Basically you wanted 350kw, imo thats way too much for the street, 300 is the limit for rwd before you just get slower (more lag, less traction, very hard to drive) if you want 1/4 mile times and use slicks then sure that power is useable. If it is a daily driven street car aim for 250-300kw with the smallest turbo that will make that power, I would be looking at the 0.82 GT3071 for this, if you use E85 then you can make even more power, I think I've heard of people doing 320kw with E85 on a GT3071 not to mention 250-270 doesn't need an engine rebuild, where as if you want to do 350 year in year out reliably you do. 1/4 mile lag isnt a big deal as you can smash the limiter on take off and then you are flat the entire way, on the street you are using half throttle and low revs etc.
  17. Yes they will all be an improvement, but you don't want to go much over 270kw on your stock motor do you? Isn't that why you limited your current gtx to 270kw? hence a gt3071 would be the best choice for this power level, I'm not 100% sure if you would make it on the 0.63, there is a result in the dyno thread with that much but I'm not 100% sure you would be able to replicate it. Basically you want the smallest turbo and smallest exhaust housing for your power level.
  18. No I just can't confidently answer the question regarding the actuator. 3076 is suited to higher power levels, a 3071 would be around a similar power level to your current turbo, but with bucketloads more average power, would be much faster on the street and on the strip. Look on here for examples of power levels and graphs for the gr3071 in 0.63 and 0.82 rear housings. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/55845-rb25-turbo-upgrade-all-dyno-results/page__st__660
  19. I'll leave that one to someone else to answer exactly.
  20. Fair call, though if you remove it yourself (really not that hard, lots of DIY guides on here) sell it (for more than a GT3071 is worth) make some cash, then spend that cash on a ~$300 touch up tune you should break even. Car would be off the road maybe a week or two max if you don't have any buffer cash to buy then sell.
  21. You can sell a turbo within a week and replace it with a GT3071, and then do the same once you build your motor. A motor is going to take you at least a year to get done, might as well trade it in on the forums for a plain old GT3071, at least that is what I would do. A year with a better performing car for maybe a few hundred lost max sounds like a great idea to me, being as its such a new turbo you should have no trouble selling it as well. If 300rpm makes you 100% happy then why doesn't 1000rpm make you even happier? Seriously it makes a LOT of sense to sell the turbo off and get a smaller variant, in the short and the long term, E85 will see you getting even more power than you are now with a GT3071 with at least 800rpm less lag, seriously consider it. Search the forums, lots of bad reports of their housings. I don't think anyone was bagging them as a business, just the housing they made for the GT30
  22. Yeah thats what I meant lol, sorry for the confusion, thanks heaps for the pics!
  23. I'm curious how the GTX3071 compares to the GT3076 to be honest. If it makes the same power with less lag. you are planning for 350kw on a stock motor? Or you rebuilding? Imo I would have just got a GT3071 and then just upgraded once you rebuild or do whatever it was you were planning on doing. trent from status tuning, he is one of the best where you are, even other tuners talk highly of him
  24. If they are adjustable below legal height they shouldn't pass, however they might pass them if it isn't obvious that they are adjustable. Or if the height is reasonable they might not even look.
