  1. oh lol a locker definitely have to change that, unless it is a police station with no turns lol
  2. If the valve was stuck down how on earth did the piston not hit it?
  3. coilovers, any stuffed bushes need to be replaced, put stock wheels back on, possibly need to change the bonnet, if its too loud need another muffler
  4. anything that alters the emissions of the engine is generally illegal and it is up to their interpretation of this as to what they ping you on, eg you'll get away with intercoolers etc but as soon as you up the boost, change turbo chargers, injection systems etc you need a full spectrum emissions test you can call up regency and they will tell you everything, or do an application to modify vehicle and they will tell you exactly what needs to be done, most of it is hidden on the transport sa website but you have to dig around to find it. edit: a lot of them are listed here http://www.vicroads....300/0/VSI22.pdf and all the info should be able to be found here http://www.infrastru...adr_online.aspx if they are ADR approved or came on a different model of the same car then they don't need to be
  5. there is a good reason most of it is illegal. cages if you aren't wearing a helmet and a proper 5 point harness you can hit your head on them and they can cause more injuries in lower speed accidents. Wider wheels can change suspension geometry and make the car handle worse etc blah blah, if you do it properly it can make the car safer but half the time it wont. Coilovers might not have appropriate spring rates (eg 8kg coilovers) causing less traction due to the wheels skipping, lowering ride height stuffing up geometry making the car handle worse. They don't make it illegal to piss you off, they do it for good reason, plus if you do it properly and ticked off by an engineer 90% of it will now be street legal Things that genuinely make the car safer like proper rubber, good brakes etc are not illegal mods.
  6. Draw the setup, as if you have truley removed ti all there is absolutely no way for the fuel to get into the cylinders, it sounds like something isn't connected properly and is leaking fuel into the injector port.
  7. tank -> Fuel pump -> fuel line > filter > fuel rail > fuel reg > return fuel line > tank Now if you have removed the fuel rail and injectors from the motor, there is no long longer ANY path for fuel to get into the motor yes? So if there is 'fuel' in the motor it was either always there, or it is not actually fuel. The ONLY way for fuel to get into the motor is via the injector ports in the intake, if the injectors aren't there and there isn't a leaking return line or reg some how gushing fuel into the holes then there is no path for fuel to get into the motor.
  8. HE'S not HIS
  9. If you didn't up the boost and ignition it would, but everyone does up the boost and ignition so the extra buffer is now gone.
  10. Hold on so you have removed the entire fuel rail and injector setup but fuel is still getting into number 5. I am completely confused, the injector setup and fuel rail is a closed circuit, all fuel must go out the return line, there is nothing else that holds fuel so how is it possible for fuel to get into the cylinders? You sure it isn't coolant getting into the system from say a blown headgasket?
  11. I was of the opinion that rods and rod bolts broke due to rpm, and pistons generally break from higher torque (heat) and detonation. Obviously the rods will let go eventually, due to power but I thought that level would be quite high? I could be wrong though, someone feel free to correct me.
  12. do rb26s have stronger rod bolts than rb25s? or do people just spin them harder for shits and giggles?
  13. If no. 5 is filling up with fuel then no. 5 injector must be stuffed or shorting completely open, somethign with the wiring or the actual injector is leaking
  14. no different to stabbing the throttle
  15. I highly doubt they are even slightly similar
  16. what rpm are you spinning it to?
  17. I don't actually know the answer but I would say it is almost certainly just a software upgrade, there were huge improvements in computers over that time frame and the mechanical pumps are analog so they can be turned on and off as fast as you like, it is the computer actually being able to do the calculations in the required time that is the difficult bit.
  18. so much porn in this thread
  19. is it some 8L v8 or something?
  20. Stick a muffler on the end of the gate?
  21. a slip on spacer is dangerous and will always be illegal to run, bolt ons are different but just put stockies on, thats the simple answer
  22. lol are you joking? they are illegal full stop.
  23. simon what do you do as a job to afford all this? looks like loads of fun but so much dollars
  24. extra 100hp is about what you'd gain with a turbo surely
  25. sounds like a flat battery if your starter wont even click over jump start it with another car and if it turns over it is your battery, injectors etc wont stop it cranking lol, once you have it at least turning over but not starting get a consult cable and make sure all sensors are working.
