  1. Ring around, that is steep even if they are great tuners. A boost controller is not needed for stock turbo, an exhaust will cause it to run 10-12psi anyway with an rb20 actuator.
  2. Its all about average power in a rev range you can use, you can ignore rpm it makes it at if you don't really care about the motor.
  3. still pretty bloody impressive
  4. yeah I am confused, unless you somehow run 30psi with ridiculous temps and meth or something? though would have thought the compressor would be way out of flow by then
  5. If you get 6-12 months out of the motor it is probably cheaper to just keep throwing second hand bottom ends at it than to build one.
  6. They probably had very interesting head work and a bunch of other things though.
  7. That is the absolute maximum line where they consider it 'acceptable' I would just drain another 500ml so they replaced the motor lol
  8. What boost?
  9. Where is it? lol
  10. Did you even read the thread?
  11. You guys should look into mainlube When you want to build a twin turbo 350 speed boat that can sit on 6000rpm with 35psi for extended periods at a time, this is the oil they use. No marketing bs, just a quality oil for literally every single machine on the planet. It isn't something you'd really use in a street car though, think it works out almost $200 for 5L
  12. Change them to something else then back to instant.
  13. that is what a 1000hp turbo? or are you aiming for quite a bit over 400kw?
  14. Because there are smaller turbos that will make the same power over a broader range with better response?
  15. Why the ridiculous sized turbo then?
  16. Well I think the 230kw figure is a load of crap and I doubt with a stock ecu you are making over 180, so normally you'd see ~200 with the neo turbo. It is also a required upgrade before you can do anything else, can't go bigger turbo or change injectors without it. Should see better economy and smoother acceleration definitely thoug, really need to see what it is like on the dyno now to see how much of an improvement there can b, some look worse than others and have a huge dip in the midrange due to it richening up.
  17. 14psi at 5500rpm?
  18. It is like getting a full aftermarket ECU as it lets you retune ignition and fuel maps in real time as well as tweak some other things.
  19. Lol 14psi, that must be a gigantic turbo, what is it?
  20. Isn't the GT3082 basically a GT35? If so then how does the GTX3076 come on later and make ever so slightly less power? Just doesn't make sense. or is it the transient response which the dyno does not show where it has the improvement over it?
  21. The old LS1s all consumed almost 1L/1000kms which is why half them had to be warrantied, there is still quite a few going around that couldn't get warranty using almost that much oil though.
  22. when my turbo seal went I had this exact problem, compressor made love to the housing not long after. Never checked the catch can though as it is a gay one where I have to remove it to drain it.
  23. Exactly, make a worse motor for no gain lol
  24. what would be the purpose of that?
  25. they run so rich that even with good coils it wont spark half the time. I had brand new splitfires, 0.65 gapped plugs and still had a bloody miss, got it retuned so it wasn't running 9-10:1 (maxed out the lambda it was that rich) and it was fixed instantly. Even the shittiest coils every covered in scorch marks almost never miss with a retune. edit: for some reason it loaded the first page
