  1. they get everything wrong all the time.
  2. Sounds like one of the many sensors is dead, the AAC is probably gunked up hence the bad idle and it probably needs a tune for the mods that have been done to it. All of these combined result in the issues you are seeing.
  3. I've got a standard AFM if you want it, make an offer.
  4. I've got an rb20 turbo highflowed by GCG on my rb25, makes full boost almost the same as a standard turbo but it pulls very hard even on 12psi around 200rwkw. Is currently being tuned with gtr injectors and all that jazz, hoping to see 240kw with almost standard response and spool times. For a street car it is all about response. Only thing I don't like about the turbo is the service from gcg, if anything goes wrong you will be blamed for it and have to fork out for the bill.
  5. It will be a slight improvement but you will probably get misfiring and a very rich engine.
  6. So close in fact they are 100% directly related lol. Horse power is proportional to torque x revs.
  7. yes if it is standard and i imagine the nismo one is expensive and not much better
  8. Got a set of rims for sale, they are pretty standard 17x8 and 17x9 black 5 spoke rims, no gutter rash and in good condition. They need new tyres as the sidewall on the front right has a gash in it but holds air fine and the rear ones are fairly bald. They will drive you to the tyre shop but they certainly are not legal. Here are some pictures. Not sure of the offset but they sit perfectly on an r32 gtst, sit about half a cm in the guards so they are legal and fill out the guards well, no scrubbing or anything like that. Can possible organise cheap 2nd hand tyres if needed. Can send interstate but will probably cost a bit. Asking $700 Can call on 0423 277 771 or PM on here.

  10. Walbro GS342 (I think that is the model) is drop in, quiet and fairly cheap replacement. Doesn't flow as much as a bosch 044 but is far quieter and fine for stock power levels.
  11. MSD make a window switch, eg it enables an output during a window of revs. The standard rb25 computer enables the VCT between 1500 and 4500 rpm I think, so the switch takes the RPM input and when the rpm is between that window it turns on the output, the output then enables the VCT solenoid. An eboost street is a boost controller but it also has a window output controller built into it which can be used for this purpose, there however are various other solutions out there, you will have to do some research and talk to whoever you are planning this conversion with as it doesn't sound like you will be the one wiring it all up anyway.
  12. No the computer will need to be remapped to suit the rb25 engine, a nistune is the best option but an epprom remap with the standard rb25 map will do if you haven't done any modifications. VCT can be controlled via a MSD switch, an eboost street boost controller or any other auxiliary window output controller.
  13. Call them, when my car was stolen, recovered and written off and they paid me out it was cancelled from then.
  14. The coilpacks and afm from a series 1 rb25 are the same as the rb20 items as far as I know.
  15. Why would you get rid of the AAC, it is a superior option.
  16. link?
  17. I doubt it would even idle let alone run.
  18. lol it is a sump, eg where the oil is stored.
  19. If the car is already in the shop and you can't do the clutch yourself get it done, but otherwise leave it until its stuffed and get your moneys worth out of it. It isn't that hard to change if you have 3 people, two to hold the gearbox and one to locate it. I managed it with just one other person and only axel stands, was a bit of a flamin mongrel trying to bench press the box in but we managed it in about 30 minutes.
  20. I drove a 2L diesel van for 6 months whilst my car was off the road, peak power at 2500rpm and a redline of about 3200, that and it was about 20m off the ground, after that even my mums 1.5L civic felt fast!
  21. Same as any powerful engine, suspension, good grippy tyres etc.
  22. All good points except this one, if you use the rb20 ecu then you get to keep all of this stuff.
  23. TPS is actually the throttle position sensor and it sits on the throttle body reading between 0-5v depending on the percentage it is open. You are thinking of the CAS (crank angle sensor), I'm fairly sure that they all emit the same signal and do not need to be changed.
  24. Yeah I might even stick the multi meter on it to see if its drawing any current, meant to suck about 1 amp to keep it powered apparently. Will report back when I try tonight. Cheers guys.
  25. No if you go the aftermarket path then you can use anything, what I was getting at is the nistune module installed in the rb20 ecu makes for a very stealthy cheap upgrade with basically the same features as a full aftermarket ecu, it is not available for the rb25 computer though. If you are planning on going full aftermarket anyway then it is a moot point, I'll leave that question up to someone else as I don't know much about the compatibility of other aftermarket computers.
