    But they don't fit the car? f**k me if I was gonna fork out $3k for rims I'd be sure as hell to get them in a width/offset that fits without needing stretched tyres/flared guards.

    Unless its a track only car and the track is very smooth that's way too stiff. Most tracks have a few bumps in them and it'll upset the balance if you hit them at speed with springs that stiff.

    If they are only 6.5" Id go a 205. I'm running 215s on an 8" rim and that's not stretched at all, you will get better grip/traction getting the proper sized tyre, wider doesn't mean grippier. Also if its awd get the exact same rims/tyres all round or the awd system can play funny buggers.

    Stretched tyres are the latest gay thing to do. Buy proper sized tyres and you will get better traction/grip. Drifting is the only reason to stretch tyres.

    Honestly I wouldn't bother changing anything unless its free until you can get on the dyno. Will tell the complete story.

    Just out of curiousity can you compensate (slightly) for running a smaller rear housing by running a very large external gate, I'm sure it would be harder to control boost but would it help free up the top end a little in say your example?

    I've heard of fancy boost controllers that will limit boost based on the gear or even try and control it linearly via the throttle position as well, some research into something like this might help.
