Instead of using a massive electric motor couldnt you just make some sort of hybrid super charger/turbo all in one that somehow runs a geared drive from the engine to spin the turbine and then clutches off when the exhaust gases start flowing?

I think you are mistaken thinking the R32 has a 3litre rb30e it infact has a 2 Litre Rb20det which indeed does make it need a smaller exhaust wheel hence smaller turbo.

I have found as I browse these forums at work and at home, if I leave it logged on at work I get the error at home if I try and log on but if I log off at work I dont. Also if I run the website through a proxy eg (www.guardster.com) it works fine. Pretty weird and also pretty annoying. Any of the admins got any clues? Im assuming its got something to do with the cookies

Mate that pipe takes 2 mins to take off, unscrew the bolts holding it on, undo the 4 clamps or so and just give it a tug and off it comes. How long did it take to cut in half, also how did you cut it? Haha crazy people

Sale fell through, buyer couldn't come up with the money. Back up for sale, will be going in the trader next week but would prefer to see it go to a R31 enthusiast then some dick whos just going to thrash it.

Ok the car is probably sold, however its not definate just yet, still open to enquires incase it falls through.

Its pretty much stock aside from the exhaust so I dont see why you wouldn't pass an inspection, come one, road trips are fun

Did a search but didn't really know what to search for and got no results. Anyway was flashed by a camera on the 30th of may doing about 75-80 in a 60 zone but there was another rx2 about 4 car lengths behind in that also saw the flash (wasn't speeding). If anyone knows what the average time to get sent the fine in the mail thatd be great? also Ive heard if there are several cars in the photo they dont sent the fine out as it can be too hard to determine which car was infact speeding? Another thing I changed my plates from custom ones recently to non custom ones but for some reason last week got a letter to renew my custom ones in the mail? If someone could please shed some light on this itd be great as Im sick of waiting to hear if Im gonna be stuck on 1 point (On Ps) for another year. Cheers.

Thats a good idea vas_95, will check later on. Had a similar idea myself a day back but havent had a chance to check it. Basically when driving at night with lights on everytime it misfires all the lights in the cabin dim, and if I use my indicators the stereo cuts out for a few seconds, sometimes the misfire also causes this. Im also thinking maybe theres a bad connection to one of the coil packs shorting to the chassis as that would explain the zapping noise I hear and the diming of the lights dude to the short. Also my fuel pump changes tone somtimes during the misfire as well, only once the revs get real low. I check it with a multimeter tonight and report back, cheers guys.

Im pretty sure any arc at all will be taking current away from the spark which will at least weaken the spark, possibly causing a misfire. If you can see where the spark is coming from, cover that area in glue/tape etc until it stops arcing and see if this fixes it.

Its a 1989 4 door GTS pillarless with a stock redtop rb20det motor, R33 automatic transmission. Has about 95000 genuine Kms on the clock at the moment, was imported back in 1994. Engine is stock aside from full 3inch Exhaust system (dump to cannon) and Pod intake filter. Aftermarket Boost and Oil Pressure guage (runs about 10psi with the exhaust system) Clarion 6 stacker audio system has 15/65/205 rims (not sure what type) Good tread The turbo was rebuilt when the previous owner had it around 60k kms Just had the timing belt and water pump done, major service etc, brakes machined.(Have reciepts) Coil packs have been replaced recently. Cyclops immoboliser and alarm system Has had oil changed every 4000kms LSD diff - no whine or clunk Has about 4months rego left Only issues are dent in sump and the O2 sensor needs to be replaced, dent has been there since the previous owner bought it. Body is in great nick, no dings or rust that I can see. Interior is also in good nick. Comes with the usual power windows, adjjustable suspension etc. Here are some pictures taken earlier in the year, Im asking around $7k but as I said its mainly just to see if I get any interest at this price, also If I do sell I am going to buy a piece of shit for about $300 to get around in till I find something I like so if you have anything like this Id happy take a couple hundred off the price. Mine also makes a ratling noise as if the metal heat shield is hitting something but isnt. R31 rb20det redtop, not sure what the cause is. Let me know if you find out.

Ok heres my thought. If the reversion of the air coming back out the intake (flutter sound) could cause any damage to the turbo surely it would bend the butterfly first. I mean Im sure the metal plate that is the butterfly would be much weaker then strengthened turbine wheels. Alot of cars didn't come with blow off valves at all, eg my stock R31 turbo passage was brought out with no bov at all, not even a plumb back so it makes a cool flutter. The reason alot of cars have plumback ones is to reduce the flutter sound which makes alot of people go "wtf is that" At least thats what I think.
