  1. People just tend to laugh when you say stage 2 or stage 3, because what the hell is stage 3, is it adding a bigger turbo, is it changing your fuel latency value? is it a combination of exhaust housing and injector swap? It is completely arbitrary so it just sounds a bit silly.
  2. A good way to reset that feeling is to have it off the road for 3 months, you forget what it is like completely, get back in it and go wholy shit this is ridiculous all over again heh.
  3. I don't think you are a bad person I just think you could save yourself a lot of trouble down the track doing it in a less "look at me mr policeman" way. It just doesn't make sense to go out of your way to increase the chance of a defect when you can make a car go just as fast/loud and look stock under the bonnet.
  4. That would just make me lose sleep at night worrying how long until the cops f**k me over, I wouldn't even be able to enjoy it.
  5. Yes it will do it harsher because it is making a solid 25-50% more torque in the midrange. I think this will be the best turbo for the feeling you want. I have a gcg turbo that comes on strong about 4k, and I describe it as the same thing, about 3.5-4k it just snaps you back in the seat due to the midrange, it then tapers off towards redline.
  6. is the compressor the only change between the GTX models? eg quite literally nothing other than the compressor + housing has changed?
  7. Lol @ stage 2 tuning Seriously though a good tuner should be able to tune anything you give him, if they are iffy about nistune OR powerFC I would find another tuner for that reason. They are both incredibly common in the skyline scene so any tuner who does these sorts of cars regularly should have bucket loads of experience with both ECUs.
  8. Hope you look forward to joining the 20 blokes that got busted for paying someone at the RTA to get their car off defect. The bloke who was organising it is looking at 2 years jail time.
  9. I wasn't talking small turbos, just smaller turbos. Eg one of hypergears 280kw turbos is going to give a bigger torque spike than his lag monster 320kw ones. Harey I agree with what you are saying, it is the spike that does it really.
  10. The bigger the torque spike the more of the push back in the seat feeling. As torque is proportional to acceleration. The torque spike will be biggest with the smaller turbos running dickloads of boost, massive midrange spike.
  11. plugs, coilpacks or running more boost than standard with stock ecu. It will be one or a combination of these things, guaranteed.
  12. Subscribed for the luls I want to know what you are going to do when you get pulled over and defected, what the hell are you going to do then? and don't say it won't happen, if you have all these silly high mount shiny parts and drive it at 9000rpm with 1.7 bar on the street with a screamer it is simply a matter of time. Also a GTX35r with E85 willy be laggy.
  13. Sounds like you've already made up your mind. It is a dumb idea, we all think it is a dumb idea, but because this is what you want to hear I am going to say it. SWEET IDEA DUDE, f**k YEAH BOOST IT WITHOUT A TUNE WHO CARES IT'LL BE SICK!!! edit: lol you actually did it, kudos for posting up that horrible dyno graph, looks like you took a picture of some waves at the beach haha
  14. Both will do what you are asking with no issue, sounds like the shop prefers to tune the power FC and that is why they are recommending it. I would go nistune personally purely because it is cheaper and it looks stock/will pass a defect inspection.
  15. Are the ceramic rollers an expensive modification to make? I imagine it is. Very very nice performance though, I'd be interested in seeing the same design with the curve shifted left 500rpm so that it makes ~270-280kw but with full torque from 3500rpm to ~7k Is this something you envision is possible to do ?
  16. Lol are you stupid? from what you just said 10> 9 > 5 Hence 9 and 5 are both smaller than a 10 I don't think what you said is correct though.
  17. trent with the r34 ecu with the IAT tables can you set up air intake ignition and fuel trim? I'd love that feature, not sure if I should just fork out for a vipec and put it in the standard case instead though.
  18. My dad stole my good leads and replaced them with some bullshit from supa cheap, I suspect this is the issue. FFS I can't be bothered forking out to buy good ones again.
  19. What do you think is going to happen when it is 28c outside and you've been idling at a red light for 2 minutes after giving it a flogging (massive heat soak) ? My guess is it is going to detonate. Either set up a coolant temp/intake temp ignition trim fuel richen map, or retune it on a hot day if you want the motor to last.
  20. So there was a lead hanging off the postive terminal and the tape came off in the hot weather when it was sitting in the shed and earthed the battery out for a good week completely cooking it. Now I removed the battery and tried to start the car via jumper leads directly off another vehicle but it just goes whir.... whir.. whirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and won't properly crank. Does the starter require too much current to draw entirely via jumper leads? Or is it likely I have another short or have partially blown a fuse limiting current? Cheers
  21. What is it that goes wrong with them, the high temps stuff the moving parts?
  22. edit: simon beat me to it
  23. I know this is an old post but I can confirm this works. I have an R34 neo motor with R33 intake, rail etc on it. You have to pull a stud out of each end of the head and replace it with the standard R33 bolt but it isn't exactly hard to do. I did it as it meant doing the neo swap was completely painless, running all R32 gear (in an R32) sensors, ecu etc. Just chopped the ignitor off and wired the ecu direct to the R34 coils. Easy as piss.
  24. Interesting, mine must be quite old as they look like they could never have been purple. I guess heat does funny things to colour though.
  25. Ok so stock injectors aren't purple, they are a dark grey ish colour. I went to a model shop and bought some paint for $6 and painted mine with a cotton bud, looks 100% identical to the stockers now, only took about 30 minutes to do as well. Win.
