  1. That would suggest something was wrong. 12v is odd as well, it should be alternator volts I would have thought, curious what the outcome is.
  2. I wish! never driven one sorry.
  3. The positive pin will always have 12v, the earth pin will only have zero volts when it is on. So fi you are earthing on the chassis it will always show 12v on the solenoid, so make sure you have both pins in the plug, not just the positive.
  4. I didn't say it should always be seeing current, I said it will always be seeing 12v, it will only see current when it switches on, eg when the earth is grounded.
  5. it costs a lot more? hahah
  6. sounds like that is almost certainly your issue
  7. 16 to 20psi
  8. all gaskets and silicon joiners. I had the sandwidge gasket between my intake manifold leaking (rb25) never would have found it otherwise, gained 4psi just fixing that, had to turn the boost down as it started to detonate.
  9. If he wants to run it on infinite boost sure. But he probably doesn't want to blow his car up so he needs an external gate, electronic boost controller, dump pipe. Then if he wants to run more than 8psi he will need a different gate, injectors, AFM, clutch, tyres and another tune on top of that. So yes, I do believe it will cost that much.
  10. Cost more like $4k to do properly. Bit misleading implying all he needs is the turbo.
  11. Would only really be useful as an input to the ECU for tuning, unless of course you have issues and are trying to diagnose.
  12. They work, what kind of review are you looking for lol
  13. If you already have enough fuel, eg injectors are not maxed out and nor is fuel pump, then putting bigger injectors in will just require a retune for zero gain, bigger fuel pump is probably not a bad idea but it won't give any extra performance, will just give you some extra safety and if you decide to use E85 down the track it will give you the required flow. If you are maxing your injectors out the car will lean out and probably make slightly more power but pop the engine. Only replace them if you require extra fuel flow, eg a bigger turbo, as it will require a complete retune which is $$$
  14. no why on earth would you get a power increase?
  15. it should be seeing voltage at all times as the ECU grounds the solenoid, it doesn't provide power. Only real way to test if it is getting a signal is to put a current meter on it really, voltage may droop a little when it pulls the voltage but if it is wired to the battery then there won't be any droop as it is only 1amp. If it isn't making a decent click noise then you can rule it out as broken though. R34 is smart, I think it needs a few things, TPS to indicate throttle, be in gear and also have your speed above 10kph is what I've heard in the past.
  16. You need to put it on a dyno and wire it on all the time, do a power run, then unplug it and do another dyno run. Now overlay the two graphs, where the graph with it permanently on dips below the graph with it always off should be your ultimate switch over point. Doing anything other than this is guessing and will give sub optimal results. edit it is possible the solenoid is jammed, I had to hit mine with a hammer and then pulse it on and off 10 times to get it to start clicking.
  17. Does he have a torque plate to suit?
  18. Stock injectors will do ~230kw max safely But yeah your turbo is out of flow so the only way to make more power is either bigger turbo, or run E85 so you can wind more ignition timing in, stock injectors prob won't flow enough though. Next step is $4k really as you need airflow meter, injectors, turbo, fuel pump, most likely coilpacks, then clutch, then tyres, then a full retune regardless of if you want 230kw or 300kw
  19. No the tune on them is not designed for australian fuel or temperatures, they are rubbish.
  20. It is only as good as the tune on it, that is the reason why the mines are shit, designed for 100 RON jap fuel and just shit for australian conditions. It is all about the tuner and the tune, beware as a lot are retards and charge good money for it.
  21. exactly, anyone worth getting to assemble an RB won't be doing it for free. Have they ever done one before?
  22. Well you did ignore every single thing we told you to do until you either broke it, or ran out of other things to try so...
  23. lol sorry I missed that
  24. I really doubt that will be the end of your costs.
  25. Yep get an aftermarket ECU or a nistune then do it.
