  1. I pulled mine out and he goes 'heh, well we are going to defect your car regardless' and went searching for shiny parts, he wrote down my boost controller as "turbo timer and boost controller". Don't always come out on top. I can't really complain as the boost controller wasn't on the exemption from modification list.
  2. You still technically need an IM240 test anywhere in Australia.
  3. Should still put it on the dyno. Air leak, failed O2 or just poor tune? edit: On vac an air leak will make you run lean, on boost it will make you run rich.
  4. If a cop saw that they'd probably defect you for "blow off valve" due to the shiny blue on the gate, wonder if you could fit it on the under side of the manifold.
  5. to top it off it'll be a dog to drive as well due to the cam you need for 200kw.
  6. If you have fresh studs that are <10,000kms do they snap just as easily? Reason I ask is I took my manifold and turbo off twice with the same studs and had no issues, they were all under 10,000k though. Was running 18psi on a highflow so would have gotten bloody hot as well.
  7. Changing the manifold isn't too bad if you have a rattle gun. Takes about an hour, but see your point.
  8. What is wrong with that gate on the internal manifold?
  9. You are using a twin scroll turbo so the turbo doesn't stay the same size. Ultimately you need a 3D map with rpm and boost (not load).
  10. Can just you just use a very long lever with lots of mechanical advantage and a strong solenoid?
  11. Put the front of the car on a trolley.
  12. Glad to hear it was just the coils mate!
  13. What engine and turbo setup are you using daz?
  14. That is the worst combination I've ever heard, a turbo that doesn't flow well up top already coupled with cams that have extra overlap and need even more flow.... WHY
  15. The whole point is why are you getting 270s if you don't want to rev your car to 10k rpm. Are you just buying them because "cams are cool" and you have no idea why you even need them? Don't buy parts for shits and giggles, figure out your goal and buy the appropriate parts to reach that goal. It is like going to uni and doing a degree then figuring out what kind of job you want, you have it all backwards!
  16. stop talking smack, there is negligible difference between plain bearing and bb in terms of lag and response.
  17. Ah makes sense then, should be a nice ride!
  18. Any reason why not a 2/1JZ ?
  19. Highflow turbo, ecu, injectors, afm, clutch, fuel pump. $4k adventure if you want 240kw or 300kw, need all the same parts. Or you are just stuck with the stock turbo if you don't want to replace stuff. When people say get a highflow thats what htey mean, rebuild stock turbo with bigger spec wheels. Hypergear, gcg, lots of places do it. Once again you need all the parts listed above if you go a bigger turbo though.
  20. Pretty hard to figure out on the internet, you need to find a competent auto elec to diagnose your problem, most likely be wiring if you guys have hacked up/made your own loom.
  21. Water cooling is just a nice to have, the majority of water cooled turbos you can blank off the water lines and they will be fine.
  22. deatchwerks are built to spec and with a proper spray pattern, they bolt straight in and are highly regarded, from what I've read they are just as good as the nismos and there is no reason to doubt them.
  23. Wut
  24. deatchwerks are meant to be very good as well from what Ive read
  25. NA motor will have even LESS lag.
