  1. If it didn't he would have had to change it to make it run.
  2. I used an rb20det computer with a nistune to run it, all R33 intake etc and then just rewired the CAS and cut the ignitor out the loom and use the neo coils. No dash wiring needed.
  3. Call the regency hotline for a 100% correct answer, but if it is still registered you are allowed to drive it to a place of repair.
  4. Sounds like your cat is blocked then, don't rev it out as it will cause extreme temps.
  5. QUOTED FOR TRUTH moral of the story, find a fantastic tuner.
  6. It isn't the psi that kills motors, hell it is hardly ever even the raw torque that kills them, theres a few blokes running over 400kw on stock engines, it is all down to heat and avoiding detonation, the torque limit for stock pistons is pretty damn high, they will withstand 400kw for quite some time if you keep temps under control and have absolutely zero detonation. All in the tune imo.
  7. lol rann has done loads of top stuff for SA and pretty sure he has changed nothing on the police side of things.
  8. even with wastegates wide open it would make 2-3psi still.
  9. It isn't about what it can 'handle' it is about where it stops making power. You could probably run 28psi no worries, but whether you'd make any more power than 15psi all comes down to what combination of wheels are used. Hypergear has them making 270kw with the stock rear housing, though they get seriously hot and he smashes 20psi+ through them to do that. Wouldn't be very detonation friendly.
  10. Keep adding the largest straight through mufflers you can find until it is the volume you desire.
  11. get new coils, and fix the fuel as well, stock map will being running 9-10:1 at that load if you are running more than stock boost, also plug gap, get it down to 0.8 or lower. It will be a combination of running too rich and poor spark causing the misfire.
  12. all the sections of the map that don't get used but would if there was extra load (more boost etc) you should do this to, take timing out and add fuel, if for some reason you run an extra 5psi for some unknown reason could save the motor.
  13. rb30 flywheel is the same as rb20/rb25 flywheel so you can use rb30 clutches as well. Providing it was rated to the torque you wanted there was no jewing here,
  14. So have you pressure tested the intake to 20psi with NO leaks?
  15. Yes, don't do it, it will almost certainly detonate if you don't change the tune.
  16. The guys at Jaustech and also simon at morpowa are great as well, Heard good things about willall but I have never used them personally. I don't like boostworx as shaun doesn't use ANY knock detection when tuning, if you had a failing fuel pump it would almost certainly result in a popped motor. I've also had 2 tunes from him that detonated as soon as the weather got above 25c and needed timing pulled out as he set the knock map to be identical to the normal fuel map. He also doesn't do a road test/tune touch up nor does he test the cold start functionality, every tune I had had to go back to get him to fix the cold start.
  17. If you pressure tested the intake with no boost leaks to 20psi, have tried dropping the dump and dropping the pod/intake, then the next step is a non return flow intercooler imo. Also confirm there is no exhaust -> turbo gasket leak.
  18. Sounds like he might have been the one who did me last Friday, bald, slightly overweight guy? edit: N Hastie was the name on the fine, same guy? said identical stuff to me if it wasn't him, also a weirdo who found my boost controller in my ash tray in 10 seconds flat, first thing he did was pull the ash tray out without checking anything else. Wrote it down as 'turbo timer' though.
  19. If you were only making ~150 like an unmodded skyline and bumped it up to 250 it would be close to double! but yeah you should definitely feel that midrange punch compared to stock.
  20. Yeah the torque figure would be almost double what it is stock, you seriously think it doesn't feel any faster?
  21. sounds like something is wrong, should be making bucket loads more torque, fuel economy shouldn't be any diff either, sounds like someone really butchered your tune, who did it?
  22. Haven't decided yet, their website seems the cheapest I've seen. Anyone know of any other distributors or sellers on here?
  23. Yeah going to buy the 740s, not cheap but I want to pass and want room to move in the future if I want to try E85 or aim for 280kw Thanks for the help everyone!
