  1. I must agree with this, before i changed the oil in the diff to redline lightweight, the diff was definetly not as tight, loud and clunky, after i changed over and the oil was run in a little, the diff started to get very loud clunky and tight, with the tyres locking up and chirping while turning corners at intersections. I think i will give this Castrol SAF-XA synthetic a go.
  2. Hello, I would like to know the answer to this too. What oil are you using at the moment? Im pretty sure im using the wrong type, so i want to change it, im using redline light weight in it atm, because i had some left over from when i filled the gearbox, and its an absolute pain in the ass driving it around slow corners. Ive done a search and the general suggestion is redline mt90 for diff's, but don't know if thats the best option for really tight diffs. Cheers.
  3. Was on my way to glenrose to pick up some stuff for work. Quite alot of 32's around that area, and a yellow r34 GTR too.
  4. Hey, sorry was half asleep and didn't see you till the last moment, you were the white 32 yeah?
  5. Hello, Sorry to hijack the thread, just a few questions. What is over-run? What type of mech diff would it be if it locks up and clunks going slowly in a corner (and up to about 50-60 in a tight corner), slow turning, and slow/fast turning from a stand still (from anywhere between half turn to full lock) and also turning while reversing (also from anywhere between half turn to full lock)? Hope that makes sense?? What type of oil would be best to loosen it up so its less tight and noisy? This clunking is extreme, makes the ride extremely rough when it does clunk and its very loud too, i dont know which is louder, the clunking or the exhaust, it can be felt throughout the car. Cheers!
  6. Yeah i was at the dyno day, that was years ago though, can barely remember it. Yep, im out all over the place which is suprising i havent been spotted before, i'll keep an eye out for you next time. You live near the Roseville Bridge area do you? I guess i'll probably be spotted more often now you've seen the car.
  7. Wow, 3 years of owning a skyline and finally been spotted, i must blend in well. When was this and what were u driving?
  8. Salad, Check your refrigerant levels, its possible if there isnt enough refrigerant in the system it wont allow the compressor to start to protect the system, i had this kind of issue with another car, a simple regas fixed the problem. It may not fix your problem though. Cheers.
  9. Hi guys, Im a little confused, am i supposed to get a thermister or a resistor, im probably incorrect, but from my poor understanding arent they two seperate things? There is first mention of a thermister then resistor, also there is mention of a 2k resistor first and then secondly a 5k resistor, what and which am i supposed to get? Am i supposed to plug this into the red circled plug? or the blue one? or does it slot in inbetween the blue and red circled plug? Can anyone possibly take a photo or explain what i need to do please? Cheers!
  10. So were agreed they are turbos from a r34 gtr? Whats the max boost i should run these at seeing they have a ceramic exhaust wheel, 1bar? I assume they're prone to shatting themselves if run at sustained high boost pressures? Anyone know maximum flow of these turbos? Cheers!
  11. Sorry guys i probably confused u with the photo in my first post, i put that in there as my turbo looks similar to that, its not an actual photo of my turbo. The best photos i can get are below which u really cant see very well as there still on the car, and its taken with a camera phone so its not the best quality or angle. Can anyone confirm if they are r34 turbo's? I cant seem to find any info on an a/r .53 spec turbo. Thanks for the help so far!
  12. Hello all, I need help identifying my turbo, its stamped Garrett a/r .53 1-2 I've done a search for a while and have come to the conclusion they're not stock or N1's. The turbo itself is fairly small and looks similar to: http://image-cache.skylinesaustralia.com/f...-1128568610.jpg Any help in identifying which turbos they actually are / possibly could be, or any information would be much appreciated. SNG.
  13. Hello all, :wavey: Very very nice car, one of the nicest 33's i've seen. It has a TO4 not a T88. It ran a higher figure at the CRD dyno day from memory, but its running far from its full potential.
  14. Hello All, Just a quick question i was hoping someone could help me with, ive done a few searches but i couldnt find an answer. My apologies if one exists. Does the clutch master cylinder located next to the brake master cylinder use the same fluid? i.e brake fluid? Mine is running a little low, and i was thinking of toping it up, but not sure with what fluid and if i needed to do anything extra, like draining it first as u cant mix old and new fluids? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, SNG
  15. Hello all, As the title says, i am looking for a cheap, reputable brake workshop where i can take my brembo calipers to get them tested to see if they are still ok to use, they were off a half-cut and havent been used for about 7-8 months. Also depending on price maybe get them repainted as well, as alot of the paint has come off. Any places would you guys recommend that you have dealt with and would advise on me taking my buisness there? Thanks in advance , SNG.
