  1. One peice of advice I got from a mechanic friend of mine who has seam welded up a few cars is do it symetrically, ie. do one spot on the left hand side of the car, then move to the exact same spot on the right hand side and spot there. Doing this stops the car twisting as one side tightens up while the other stays slack.

  9. No worries mate. A few people helped me when I went through it all, glad to pass it on.
  10. Car is in Australia but I'm still here......
  11. 陸運局 りくうんきょく department of transport, head there for all your deregistration needs......
  12. Yea to change the registration into your name 名義変換, you need a parking permit 車庫証明. This is applied for at the cop shop. Head there first and get the paperwork, go get yourself some parking and then fill out the paperwork. You have to draw some pretty pictures of what the parking space looks like and where your car will fit and get the owner of the parking space to sign it. Personal import: Own the car for a year. Keep all the paperwork - tax forms, shaken forms, purchase records, change of rego papers, as these are all needed when you fill out the paperwork for import approval, which can be found at the DOTARS website. When applying for import approval, don't worry too much about getting all the Japanese paperwork professionally translated, I just did it myself. Don't worry if you are not coming back with your car, just lie that you are. You can apply before the year is up, as long as it is not imported before the year is up. Organise yourself some shipping. Take your car to the shipping company yards, take off the plates and walk to the nearest train station as you now have no car. Deregister the car 廃車 and apply for approval for export 抹消, this is done at the local (how do you say Department of Transport in Japanese again?? 陸上なんとかなんとか....., when I remember I'll post up again). Send the deregistration, export approval paperwork to the shipping company. Pick up your car in Aus. Pay import duty, shipping, quarantine, etc, etc, etc..... and be happy. Get it complied and be happy. You will need your registered hanko 印鑑 and a hanko registration paper 印鑑登録証明 everytime you fill out any official paperwork. Head to your local 市役所 and get yourself registered baby if you aren't already. Do it all in your name as your missus ain't an Aussie so personal imports won't work for her. My fingers are sore
  13. WTF were you expecting Drift Limo?
  14. Price down to $22,000 Very keen on selling it now so please make an offer!
  15. With your 14x10 Longchamps, you've dumped it till sparks off man holes and with as much camber as you can dial in the tyre still hits the guard, you need to stretch. This is where the fad all started ladies and gentlemen. And here it is, 195/60/14 on 10inch.
  16. Line 1:Standard optional bumper Line 4/5:For use with the standard rear under spoiler fitted
  17. Am keen on seeing it go, so make some offers!
  18. You guessed right.
  19. Plenty of wreckers mate. What are you after?
  20. Bought my ticket, but then promptly sent my car to heaven.
  21. I also have about as much money as a 17 year old. No way I can afford to go to one of those ritzy places.
  22. There is about 3000 taught up to the end of high school, more at uni. I need to know around 2000 for the level 1 in December this year. That would make me about as smart as a 17 year old. Same as my maturity level I guess.
  23. He's telling you lies. Either that or I'm screwed come December. Or you have a problem with the "0" button on your keyboard.
  24. Even with 2nd level, jobs doing anything apart from teaching are few and far between. 1st level might get you somewhere, but only if you have other skills as well. And you are right, 6000 kanji is a staggering amount. It's about 2000 more than the average Japanese person knows, and 4000 more than you need to pass 1st level.
