  1. Arias work well and are good value.
  2. MTQ offer a life time garranty against cracking but not sure what country their from but not Oz.
  3. Ive had a good run with them but need to spend a lot of time with a die grinder inside to remove turbo killing dags and to help the gas out the wastegate to stop over boosting.
  4. Next time your at Grants ill come see you about the Exturnal job.
  5. Are you using your Air con or going the full race path because i know of a company that can to good exturnal pumps.
  6. Sorry dave its not that easy.
  7. Dave has an RB30 bottom end but yes a new crank is the best.
  8. It can be done and not to hard but cant help you up there.
  9. These are very popular turbos giving very good power at a good price.
  10. Its times like these that you see how good 98 is after seeing the differance today on the Dyno with other fuels.
  11. It is a real problem.Sweeting@Denny can mod your crank or Noztec can fit the JUN collar in WA.
  12. Dave, A quality metal head gasket is upto just about anything you want to thro at it with most big power cars using them but the Oring adds that much more reliability in massive boost cars tuned to the limit like you plan for yours. When using an Oring on a metal head gasket it can take days to settle needing to be retensioned a few times before startup and then retension after its been run. Many 1000+hp cars run the metal gasket alone without trouble but at about $130 to Oring it wont add much to a major buildup and does seem to help if you overheat your engine and leaking after overheating seems to be the only weakness of metal gaskets.
  13. This should work fine as the Wolf plugin for R33 works fine in R32s so i cant see any reason the PFC would be different. The Ignition is not an issue just make sure your injectors are the same risistance,If not you could use a GTR injector risistor but as your modding the car you would want to replace the injecter and could use 13ohm replacements like Pink Densos from an RX7 etc. I fitted an R33 plugin in to a Ceffy on friday and all was well only having to change one power feed so i cant see you having many issues if you get yourself a copy of both cars ECU pinouts.
  14. Not nice.I just pulled a motor down that had something from the intake go thru a cylinder and when i pulled out the piston it had a crack from the oil squirter cutout up the skirt so i pulled the others out and everyone was the same. The motor is only a low miler and never had a max hp tune and was running modest boost. Im not blaming the piston yet as i want to give the dealer a chance to find out whats happened but the bore clearances are to their spec. I have been told that the pistons come to Australia with out the oil squirter cutout and that its added here and looking at it this looks the case as the cutout has a very different finish to the rest of the machining on the piston,The cut has been done with a coarse grade stone etc with the cut going from the outside of the skirt to the inside and the cracks all started in these deep scratches so if anyone is building a motor with these pistons and they are cut the same i would recommend you get out the die grinder and polish this area or wait till i get an answer from the distributor on what has happened but as this guy go this piston and rod package thru an Internet shop it may slow the prosess a bit. This may be a one of as Venolia make the pistons in Australias fastest Top fueler.
  15. I'll dig up GOT BOOSTs dyno graphs for you next week, it was easy to make power from but a little laggy but 11.1 1/4mile with a stock RB26 in a 2wd GTS with a $1000 Turbo is not a bad thing.I think this car may still be in HPIs record list.
  16. Most machine shops use either product Australia wide.
  17. Has anyone here run highish power long term with Venolia pistons?Say 400+rwhp.
  18. Most ppl use piano wire or MIG wire most claiming stainless piano wire the best but ive had no problem with either.
  19. Anyone looked at foolboost records and seen that the fastest RB30 VLs are still using the RB30ET head? I have seen some great stuff done lately with these heads so dont write them of as crap.
  20. Simon spent a lot of time researching his package so he can feel proud of his effort and as for bagging,Simon is the last person you would here bag anyone else.Good on him and to anyone else thats happy with their end result.
  21. Check things like Intercooler pipes etc,im sure you have done no major damage.
  22. Enzed and SRE in Radium st welshpool.
  23. I have the same problem with a customer GTR but worse, I tryed to find someone to test -repair the PFC but no hope in Australia. I have changed and tested everything inc wiring harrness-CAS- ignitor-coils -every spark plug you can think of-tested and added earths -etc and the fuel system has been gone right thru. I fitted a stock ECU and did a Data scan with no faults found. I feel an ECU is as good as its weakest link and repair-testing is this ECUs weakest link in Australia.
  24. Ive been trying to see if anyone tests-repairs PFCs with no luck on Forced induction so if anyone here knows of a company that does let me know. Thanks.
