  1. Backup on these is not looking good,Any ideas?
  2. I need to know if someone in Australia can test and repair a PFC ECU. Ive been told Petroject but they say they dont. We are in a hurry so if anyone here does please ring Steve on 0894588155. Thanks.
  3. Basic R34 with PFC is an easy job most tuners can handle in a few hours max.
  4. Unit1 number 3 Capel crt 94588155.
  5. We charge around $400 at Top racing.
  6. S2 has a built in Igniter. Not sure why but S1s take a lot more boost without missfire,GTR ignitor seems to help also.No problem with S2 Splitfires tho.
  7. PM me for details on $780 Eagle rods.
  8. This is easy and works but S1 coils are better,i normally put S1 coils and module in hi powered S2s.
  9. ARGO is hard to beat and on the shelf.
  10. There is no ARP bolts for RB26 but PPL use ARPs for VG30s. Eagle rods are around $780 new now. buying and modding 2nd hand rods could cost more than this as the Eagle is ready to use.
  11. Yes you will but you will get more than you want.
  12. Depends on the injectors you use,if they have the same resistace as the stockers then you dont need anything.
  13. The best ECU for your car is the one the shop you trust is happy to use ,sell and backup, see if they have any cars similar to your chosen combo they can show you.
  14. Ive used a lot of China manifolds and all have been very good, most of the wastegates have been ok.I have one never seen a good china turbo but have got them so cheap that a good turbo can be made from them. PER4MANZ Turbos fits T60-1 ITS comp wheels and then balances the hole thing leaving you with a resonable 600hp turbo for around $1200 total but with TO4Zs etc for around $1900-2000 these days find the extra.TIAL gates are now quite cheap so lookout for them.
  15. Yes Turbos Glow after a hard work out so dont worry.
  16. The Manifold is good but the Turbos are not so but the manifold and fit a good Garret turbo on it.
  17. Some good info at www.imports101.com.au
  18. ATTESSA is load sensative also not just slip and only very minor rolling radius differance is advisable, HKS contoller may help but would take some working out. Many GTRs run a hand lever style much like a Hydraulic hand brake removing the ATTESA system in Drag only applications but still not sure it would help as world wide ppl have used the same tyres front and rear so info is going to be hard to find.
  19. Marks a nice easy going guy that seems very fussy.
  20. I think shops need to take apprentices on so they can train ppl their way. Sadly your right tho it is a case of who you know in most cases but a good place to start is go to race meets and ask around to see if anyone wants crew members,I know of many ppl that have found their way by doing this inc myself in the early 1980s.I did my 4 years as a normal mechanic and then started helping out on Rally teams and by the mid 80s i was building cars for ppl and at the end of the 80s had my own shop, give it a try.
  21. This car came in with a new turbo and Idled like this even with the stock ECU,It had a leak down test and all the normal stuff like injector clean and test, cam timing ,vac leaks checked out etc and still idles like the cam is very advanced but made more HP than we wanted even running at 1bar.We will look into it further next week.Thinking the VVT hub is faulty.
  22. How good are the times now when we have a large choice of pistons and at very good prices unlike the old days(not long ago) when we had to pay a couple of months wages for Jap pistons and they are no better and in many cases the same piston re boxed.Best of all is all brands are very good. We used to have upto 12weeks wait also and this was only around 2000.
  23. Great to see the last 2 years come together for you Simon and to show ppl that Arias pistons can cut the mustard. Adding a PPG box would have to cut you times so start saving.
  24. With the shortage of good performace mechanics we have so if you can get a start in a performace shop you wont look back. I know of a shop in WA paying close to $40 an hour and that cant be bad. Top racing has 2 Apprentices and could not do without them and had to work very hard to get more quality mechanics. I know many of WAs shops are trying to get more staff so the future looks good if you guys do go down this path.
