DCEIVE, Find a TD06 20g 8cm and run it at 1.1bar or go for broke with a GT30.Whos gonna pay to keep Gavs car in bits for the shootout.
The Datalogit is ready now i think,I better ring and find out.
I'm planning a Bigger Dyno comp (with prizes this time) but this time make it open to other jap clubs as an SAU fund raiser so we can have a major attack on Motorvation.Around early December.
SST are now Shootout accredited and in the next few weeks we are getting our new Shootout software so the readings will be totally out of my control and recognised by national magazines.
Classes.
4cyl stock turbo.
4cyl open.
6cyl stock turbo.
6cyl open.
Stuff the V8s.
NA classes if theirs enough.
Exibition class ( 4cyl+6cyl) for the big dollar or shop cars( so Paul and Brett don't go up against cars like Nathans cost no option job)
When and whos coming.
Most Aftermarket ECUs use the factory module but use 3 outputs paired up and this is not the best setup but normally ok on lower powered cars.Try BCP6E NGK plugs at .6mm gap.
My mates Drag SR lost its hard facing before it even raced and now has Tomei cams( these Jun cams came in water pipe also with no spec sheet but the sales man is not around any more).Yes i use adjustable gears on HKS cams with sucsses because no 2 engines are the same or reconditioning changes the distance between the crank and cam gears etc.
I asked if we can get Dyno Dynamics to run the shootout next year with their rage in a cage set up and it looks like it could happen. Hope so because then theirs no shop politics even tho i have a great deal of time for Ivan i still think independent operators should run big show shootouts in a locked program.
This is why a never take up the offers to take my Dyno to shows.
Every Jun cam we have had has come in plastic water pipe wrapping and no spec sheets so we may have been getting ripped of.WE got lots of different timing specs from the supplier making dial in real hard and the Springs had very different seat pressures even with the right installed hights, we have replaced all 4 sets with other brands with good results. Please don't ask were we got them from but it makes you not want to not try again.Make sure you get what you pay for and a garranty.
Pauls GTS has 11-1 afr@10deg thru peak torque and 12-1@15 thru the top end to look after the stock parts but this will change after he gets his forged motor. His daily map is very different.
WAs soon to be Fastest GTR will be on a GTR plugin Wolf but the Supra we had at the show was not the one with the Wolf the White monster with the Blue stripes and NOS etc has the Wolf.
The Twin GT30ed job is my Drift racing ride for next season and we fitted an SM2 Autronic because we did not have the V4 Wolf on sale when we first built this car.Its on its 2nd life now but as the current ECU is a good thing we will leave it in. Both Supras could not use a Power fc with their mods as theirs to many inputs and outputs needed plus PFC can not drive low impedance injectors without risistors( not a good thing to have to Ad)
or control the Nos that both have or the boost or run dual maps like the white one has.You could not risk tuning a 1000hp motor on a hand contoller as slow as the PFC one or any hand controller for that matter.Wolf ECUs can be reconfigured to most applications so this is were it runs away from the PFC but on a strong road car a PFC is fine.Pauls GTS can switch from 330 to 430 hp in a second so dual maps is a nice thing to have .
Pick your tool but don't bag the other as their is good in both.
Gary stewarts stock RB25 runs 400rwhp with 2 25/30s and a real bad ECU ( no name as i don't want some other group to start) and its a full time competitive race car on pump fuel with 2 1/2 seasons racing without fail so the RB25 is a tough sucker.
I have no problems with Power FCs and did not start this thread, i sell support and like Wolf ECUs and tune as many PFCs as anyone but don't like needless bagging of a good product so lets get along and enjoy a good Forum.
Steve.
Many Jap brands are restamped, but mostly very good quality but at a much higher price We have had good results with tomei cams
the same gos for HKS and the cream of the lot Trust.
Argo rods are sweet.
Paul posted early that he had the pumps and reg fitted.Injector life? who knows but we have many GTSs every week in here running many different setups without injector problems.
I don't think any shop in OZ sees more Skylines than us as WA has the biggest import scene in Australia, Fly over and check it out.
