  1. yeah, you can do it. ideally you'd use a gas carby (probably gas research) and run a blow through system and adapt it somehow to your manifold unless you made a custom inlet manifold. everything else would be the same as far as turbos and exhaust etc. is concerned. you use more gas per km than petrol but gas is cheaper. you lose 2-3% power but gas is around 102 octane so you can up the boost a bit more to compensate i was going to do this on my rx7 but weighing up the costs of doing this and buying another car, i decided on another car, so my rx7 is for sale.
  2. im considering one of these aswell... the things im concerned about are the cost of modifications and how they're apparently so hard to work on. because they're twin turbo, im guessing that means 2 exhausts, one off each turbo... double the cost there... upgrading the intercooler... im guessing there isnt any / many off the shelf items to suit the twin turbo unless you make up a collector before the intercooler's inlet and also... upgrading the turbos, im guessing this will be an expensive process too... have many people tried a single turbo set up? is there a piggy back computer going around for them? so is 206kw the power rating for them? on drive.com.au it said 155kw for the turbo and 168kw for the n/a? seemed a bit funny to me! sorry about all the questions! mat
  3. ok found it, thanks guys.
  4. you can get belkin ones from jb hi-fi and the like that you can tune in to any station you like for about $70. big w sell fm transmitters for $40 but they are locked to 4 stations, which it will swap from one to the other if it interferes with another station. dont know what the quality is like of either one, but i plan on getting one for my Hi-MD
  5. hey just wondering if this turbo would be too laggy on either the rb20det or rb25det. they are 0.86 a/r and 0.5 front cover (i think) i have one in my garage, and they're dirt cheap, hence my interest in it mat
  6. hey guys, im just wondering if an rb25det goes straight into the r32 skylines? what is needed to get one to fit? i tried searching but found NUSSING! mat
  7. thanks guys! the search button told me all i needed to know!
  8. hey guys, is this an easy swap over? what sort of power gains can be expected from it? does the rb25 manifold bolt up to the rb20 head or is a custom manifold needed? cheers, mat
  9. hi guys, just been speaking to a mate about the rb20det motors, he's saying something about the standard ceramic turbo not coping with much more than 12 psi and the motors not having much potential to make big power. what is the biggest turbine a/r you could go on one of these, i've got a series 4 rx7 turbo at home (0.86 a/r) and im wondering if that would work or be too laggy. i like r32 skylines a lot more than r33's but im more concerned about the potential of the car to go faster. mat
  10. do you have any 1/4 mile times for each model or power and weight figures? i tried looking it up on drive.com.au (usually it has spec's for most cars) but didnt have anything for skylines!
  11. hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself firstly, im new here, i currently own a series II rx7 which is for sale, and I'm looking at getting a skyline to replace it. I was speaking to one of the guys from rank rotary, here in melbourne and he said skyline's are unbeatable for strength and performance from the factory. sounds good to me! i've gotten sick of replacing diffs in my rx! Im just wondering about the different between r32 gts-t's and r33 gts-t's. i know the r32 has the rb20det and the r33 has the rb25det, but what is the difference in weight, power and torque? he was saying to me last night that the r32's are a bit heavy for their motor. also, another thing im curious about, r32 gts-4's... any opinions relating to these? 4 wheel drive sounds good, are the full time four wheel drive or can u switch between front / rear / 4wd? what are the drivelines like in them? sorry about all the questions, but i have never really researched skylines at all thank you for your patience, mat ps. if you want to have a look at my rx7 for sale, check here: http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!c...rch_distance=25 http://ausrotary.dntinternet.com/forums/vi...pic.php?t=59873
