Little Xenon Suggestion
Reggi34dr replied to noise's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I have called 8 of the 10 compliance workshops (in Qld) and all of them have said the same thing. They will not comply with that request. If they are a legit business what difference would it make if I was a real (or pretend) inspector or an everyday private buyer? What are the odds of 8 out of 10 RAWS holding back any possible oversight in the compliance process? If the government has made it so the xenon units in the R34's are to be removed to meet ADR's then workshops are to comply or run the risk of being investigated and either lose the right to comply R34's or be closed down. I wholly don't agree with the removal and prove of destroyed/disposed xenons either. Things like this I'd keep to myself. -
I've already looked over the pics again on your webpage and you don't have the turbo-spec 3 guage console above the center aircon vents. I'm going out on a limb saying that it is a GT-V coz from all my research through the Nissan Japan R34 pages I have'nt seen a GT-X V-Spec. Translate these pages for a bit more info http://history.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/R34/0008/SPEC/soubi.html http://history.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/R34/00...PEC/syogen.html The car yard probably just called it that coz they only ever knew of the GT-X being N/A and knew of no other model designations for N/A R34's. Reggie.

a GT-V has the turbo model brakes, suspension, strut brace and wheels but runs the N/A RB25DE not the DET, so there will be no turbo-spec 3 guage console above the stereo. I never said it was a GT-T.
-
Ask someone who has the Nissan FAST software (like me) to run your VIN# for you. From all the research I've done I haven't come across a GTX V-Spec but like I said I could be wrong.
-
was the pedestrian on a pedestrian crossing? I think you know where I'm heading with that question. Also are you dead sure thats a GTX V-Spec. Coz you have the GT-T wheels and a front strut brace. If you have the GT-T front brakes and suspension as well, your car is a GT-V. I could be wrong, just overly suspicious/curious at what I can gather from your pics. <_<

Satanic, I do understand your statement of "you must remember that they are just LIGHTS!!! It is not going to kill anyone nor pollute the environment in anyway.", but it doesn't matter what state your in with the compliancing rules for any car. The RAWS have to follow these compliancing guidelines/rules to make sure the cars (in this case R34's) meet the ADR's. In the case of the xenon's in the R34's, RAWS have to remove and dispose of the xenon units, then show proof of removal and disposal of those units with pics or a full inspection. I'm in Qld and the story of removing the xenon units is the same. So where did you get your xenon units for your car Satanic?

Little Xenon Suggestion
Reggi34dr replied to noise's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
tdawg - did you import a R34? and did your RAWS follow your request? I ask coz I've started calling RAWS in Qld who are R34 plate holders and I mentioned this request to them and they said 'No, can't be done. Have to be cut and disposed of. Pics then have to be taken to prove the xenon unit has been removed and evidence given of where the unit was disposed/destroyed. Car can't be complied otherwise.' I have only called 2 of the 10 RAWS in Qld that compliance R34's, maybe one of the remaining 8 RAWS will do it. If they're legit and want to keep their business running I guess they'll cut the xenon units out. If they're a bit dodge and follow a customers request well they must have a back up plan when compliance gets turned down. -
what does the coding stand for
Reggi34dr replied to 342Four's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
you thought right the 'D' does = Double Overhead Camshafts -
Why did your car get off at Sydney? I'm sure there are RAWS in and around Brisbane that can compliance R33's. If I was you I'd have it transported up here and complianced in Qld. It will be an un-necessary extra cost but at least you'll be able to see the car for real. Who is your import broker? You should ask them as well. Reggie.

Importing Yourself
Reggi34dr replied to 25det's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
wrxhoon, can you pm me this info you speak of please as I am about to do the same as 25det after I get my tax return. I am also after a R34 sedan. 25det - have you found/sourced a suitable car yet? Reggie. -
this is a good thread for me as I am looking to import a R34 sedan after I get my tax return. dsteffe - so you recommend J-Spec huh? i am on their mailing list and I like the prices in the updated auction e-mails. I know what I want to get. I just have to pick an import broker. Deciding between J-Spec, PrestigeMotorsport and Imports101. Reggie.

Reggi34dr replied to teamplasma's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
hmmm very tempting can I please have pics sent to svdr31gts@hotmail.com thanks reggie -
just look through the yellow pages and find a powdercoater near you. i just had my mags re-powdercoated white for the GTS1, $50 a mag. they also smoothed off the areas on the lip of the rim where it had previously kissed gutters before the chemical immersion. reggie

come on KnL, that aint true I am one whose constantly looking for an imported 4 door skyline it's just that work commitments have come up this year that have put a hold on me following through with getting one (when i find one which fits what i want/my criteria). I first seen your on carsales and it does fit what I am looking for but again due to work I won't be able to pursue any for sale ads til early next year. good luck with the sale and if it's still around early next year, you may hear from me again. reggie

I Smashed My Gtr Real Bad.
Reggi34dr replied to MINES_DATSUN's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Chaos, i don't think my post was useless. Just wanted to thank him in my own way and ask a couple of questions about him. He just turned himself into another black and white statistic which will be put down on paper for insurance co., authorities etc. Mines, you didn't have insurance?! Why? I'm sure you don't have to have insurance for insurance co's. to increase premiums after they hear/read incidents like this. -

The first thing i looked for after opening this thread was the age of the driver. Its just disgusting that you think that at 20yrs of age your experienced enough to drive cars a class lower than GTR's (of any era). Are you an only child? I bet you are. As an aftermath a big THANKYOU for killing another GTR. THANKYOU for pushing up insurance premiums for those of us who currently own or are planning/thinking of owning a GTR (again, of any era). THANKYOU for giving the boys in blue another reason to keep an eye on japanese imports. And just THANKYOU in general for being a 20yr old male who thinks they are indestructible and never learns from their mistakes, regardless of the incident. I really feel sorry for that car and any car you've previously owned and plan on owning -
from the initial post to this thread looks like this one to me but i could be wronghttp://carpoint.ninemsn.com.au/marketplace/UsedCarDetail.asp?ID=2375783&Criteria=%40Make%3D%27NISSAN%27%2C+%40Model%3D%27SKYLINE%27%2C+%40ageMin%3D%271998%27%2C+%40ageMax%3D%272003%27%2C+%40OrderBy%3D%27P2%27&NoOfRecs=18&PageNo=1&chkRows=500
