  1. ALWAYS regap pre-gapped sparked plugs. God knows how many times that packet has been dropped.
  2. someone said shift kits reduce gearbox life, thats a misconception.
  3. Performance cams dont always increase your dynamic compression, that depends soley on the grind of the cam. Infact you might find a few drop the compression a tad to allow more boost with less chance of pre detonation.
  4. HP in cars is measured at the flywheel by manufactures, actually i believe its behind the transmission now days, but either way its not at the wheels. A car getting only 70% of its rated HP on a wheel dyno test is quite acceptable.
  5. The aluminium is a great way to add unnecessary weight to a car. Just get some mats, if they move, go get some valcro which is sticky on one side and whack some on the back, problem solvered.
  6. With too large a diamater exhaust the gasses loose velocity, this is not a cool thing. Go with 3".
  7. ive heard alot of single turbo v8's have problems with the Y joint cracking after a fair bit of use. Why not just build up a n/a beast?
  8. While it is a good idea to let the engine sit for a while so the oil can run down, you still want the oil hot. Not goto hospital cause u got 3rd degree burns hot, but hot. This makes sure any shit in ur oiling system is still suspended in the oil and will come out when you drain it instead of settling on the bottom. And i havent worked on a skyline personally, but can you drain all the oil from the sump with the front jacked, most cars u really should put the rear on stands aswell.

  10. Get a socket that JUST dosn't fit onto it. Bang it on with a hammer. Have fun undoing it
  11. With metal head gaskets a sealer must be used and it has to be done very well, if you can find someone thats good at it then its a wise investment. But im a strong believer in forged internals, although the prices of hks jun etc pistons are crazy, but a good set of forged dished pistons will allow you to run alot more boost. And why not shot peen those rods while ur down there too

  13. use copper plugs for sure, the others arent worth it because they will foul if your car runs rich and you just wasted a shit load of money. and ALLLLWAYYYYSSS gap ur plugs before u install them, just because the packet says there gapped to 1.1 dosn't mean they are, gap em urself and u will see how off they are outa the pack.
  14. Go into 4th gear and rev to aproximitly 2000rpm and drop the clutch, if you dont stall instantly then your clutch is slipping. Yours isn't but thats always a good test to know for when ur buying cars and stuff.
