ABS,HICAS & 4WD warning lights on an no tacho
tyndago replied to Greeno's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
This is odd, as I can't think of anything common between this all. I would check the connector on the back of the cluster as most of the items seem to be there. However that along with the ATTESA not throwing a code is odd. That is more power to the ATTESA ECU. So that would be back to power. Check the fuses. Check the fusible link under hood off the battery. I have seen corrosion on them cause some odd things. Way late to the party. What up boys? I ran some numbers though fast and came up with these model codes. Year - Code - Number showing up in FAST 1993 KBNR32RXFSAA 1 1993 KBNR32RXFSZAA 1 1993 KBNR32RXFS7AA 3934 1993 KBNR32RXFS7ZAA 300 1993 KBNR32RBFSNA 27 1993 KBNR32RBFSNAA 17 1993 KBNR32RBFSAA 923 5203

The question is how and why was the vehicle seized? If it were seized due to non compliance, and not a street legal vehicle, then it should never have got a SF-97. Again, does it happen? Sure it does. I've seen everything done the right way, and done the wrong way. The SF-97 is for the case of a government owned, street legal car, truck, etc that is in turn sold. It gives them the authority to "print their own title". This document can then be turned into a title. The question again is - why was it seized? Otherwise its just a game of how long can you hide something from the government.

"As much as you guys would like to paint the government as this unreasonable door-kicking-in guns-blasting group of thugs, I'd think they have bigger border control problems than some 25 year old cars that have been here for years that they may have accidentally released to the public for sale." Ever hear of Kaizo? They were door kicking in agents that picked up many of those cars. http://www.importavehicle.info/2009/10/kaizo-drama-thus-far.html How about the recently Land Rover debacle? Its not if in your case, its when. You might be the one holding the hot potato. http://www.importavehicle.info/2013/06/seized-nissan-skyline-gt-r-r33-for-sale.html http://www.importavehicle.info/2014/08/40-land-rovers-seized-in-vin-tampering.html http://www.importavehicle.info/2010/07/another-seized-car-r32-gt-r-canadian.html http://www.importavehicle.info/2011/03/state-titled-nissan-skyline-gets-seized.html http://www.importavehicle.info/2014/10/unpleasant-truths-comforting-lies.html http://www.importavehicle.info/2008/01/seized-r34-gt-rs-and-s15.html http://www.importavehicle.info/2009/12/ice-seizes-300000-cizeta-v16-kaizo.html

In the US, Customs/DHS controls entry. #1 Customs/DHS Under them, the NHTSA handles safety standards. They require a HS7 to be filled out. #1a - NHTSA - HS7 Alongside them, we have the EPA that handles emissions #1b EPA - 3520-1 When a car enters the country you need some kind of ownership document #1c Ownership doc You also need an invoice to show value so you can pay tariff #1d - Invoice So unless a vehicle came in though Customs/DHS, NHTSA cleared it, EPA cleared it, there is some kind of title, and you paid tariff, it was not done correctly. A seized car, that was seized due to non-compliance is required to be exported or destroyed. Now never saying those people don't make mistakes. I have seen it many times. State title, we see it all the time. There are 100 ways to do things illegally, to bypass the law, but there is ONE way to do it right. Its like saying I did drugs in my house last week and no one caught me. I am fine. I see people all the time ignorantly spouting off about what they have, what they "got away" with.

The JRZ are really popular here in the US, but they are not the only game in town. It all depends on how you use the car, and how smooth the tracks that you run on are. The Penskes are available in a 2 way, upgradeable to 3 and 4 way. http://www.2009gtr.com/2010/07/stillen-pen...-r-two-way.html

Its really not that difficult of a car to modify. It has taken some time, and some teething, but cars are making good power, and going quick. Several cars here in the states deep into the 9 second range. 150 mph in the quarter. If its just power, midpipe, exhaust, and a tune, and you will gain significant power. Suspension, brakes, suspension. All are available. Some upgrades from the states. http://www.2009gtr.com/2009/12/nissan-gt-r...e-packages.html

Glad to hear everything arrived alright. We just installed a midpipe- exhaust on a car at the shop. Now you just need an Accessport and a tune, and should pick up a good amount of power.

Its nice to have everything in the same box. Not a piggy back that is feeding and taking parameters from the stock ECU, and twisting them around. HKS always had cool boxes, but there was not too much you could do with them.

First Pass 9.9 @ 147mph Full Trim
tyndago replied to superjet760's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
First off nice pass. I love auto boxes. Fast way to get down the dragstrip in this power and time range. I just never have had the time or money to actually do it. Just done a bunch of talking about it. Veilsides car for the 8.6 pass was on ET Streets. Croydon Wholesalers car went quicker on ET Streets. That engine is an RB30 right ? I was looking at the idler and tensioner, and it looks that way. -
I don't like the splitfire coil packs personally. I have tried them in a couple cars. The cars always ran better and had less misfires with the splitfire coils in them. Some people like them, or they help as replacing 10 year old parts with newer parts does often work out. I like new OEM coils, replaced fairly often as they cook in the valley of the engine. The harness also cooks. They get crispy over time, and need to be replaced also. One thing to check before you go too far. Check each plug for the contact to the top of the plug. I have had a couple recently that were missing the spring/carbon. They would run ok until they got some load or heat into them.

Fastest 1/4 Mile Unopened Rb26 In Australia ?
tyndago replied to Butters's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This is the US, but hey its still a stock RB. I did a 10.8@132 mph . 10.9@129 , and 10.7@137 on a stock unopened RB26 in an R33 GT-R. 2530's and nitrous. I believe in C16. This is from 2001. Big Bird. -
Can you post a link to the pictures ? Thanks,
-
I said before that they were close to a 2510 size. The inducer was around 47 mm and the exducer about 42 mm. Small overall. The car makes more power than these turbos should be able to do on paper. R35 GT-R on Mustang Dyno I can't post numbers yet, but Edmunds Inside Line will have numbers in a few days. On a Mustang dyno, then a Dynapack Dyno. The car made a peak of 12 psi, and then dropped off to about 10 psi by redline. Also, only run in 3rd gear to avoid the speed limiter that has not been killed yet. Cobb should have it any day we hope. 5th gear is 1:1.

US is weird. They do years of cars by model years, not actual year built. The R35 GT-R, is a 2009 model year in the US.

If you look carefully , and after you watch it , you will understand - you can see the orange R33 in the background of this video. http://gtrusa.blogspot.com/2007/11/need-fo...ery-battle.html

The cars are Nissan preproduction cars. The event was put on by Edmunds.com/Inside line and I helped get a few of the owners out there. It was only put together on Thursday, so it was real last minute. Nice to see the cars up close. Red is my favorite color - as it is faster.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
tyndago replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Who said it was full weight ? 1.6 G's while cornering, on a circuit, honestly isn't that impressive. OK for a street race car, not good for a race car. R34 Racecar The swinging oil pickup is made by Nismo. Its fitted to the Super Taikyu spec motors. Seems to work out alright. -
Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
tyndago replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oil supply.... oil drain... In our N1 car , it has an interesting swinging oil pickup. Cool Nismo piece. Seems to work well. Has a stock sump, stock baffleing - kinda and a swinging oil pickup. I posted some photos of it on gtr.co.uk. Now if the oil level is in the normal range, the oil pressure will flucuate enough to get me a little afraid of it. I run it at the high mark, and under hard braking it goes down, but not enough for me to worry about any more. We see about 1.6 g's peak cornering. R34 N1 on 305 Toyo RA1's all around. The N1 motor doesnt even use an N1 oil pump, they run a Nismo pump. Interesting little thing. The Tomei oil restrictor is smaller than the N1 restrictor. Stock being 2.0 mm , N1 being 1.5 mm , and Tomei is 1.2 mm. In the N1 motor , they moved the cam baffle plates to the rear most cam caps. There is also a unique baffle plate in the valve cover. For catch cans, there are two. A small one that collects and returns to the sump, and a larger one that is about what you see on most street cars. I have run an Accusump in a GT-R. I never got around to some before and after datalogs of oil pressure though. The car didn't blow up out on the track, so I will assume it works out ok. -
R34 N1 motor - built by Nismo. To obey with the rules , the engines have stock cam gears , however , the timing marks don't all line up. They adjust the vavle timing by alternating teeth. Nismo does it...
