  1. I'm out east - how about yourself?
  2. LOL - Matt's in Adelaide I'm in melb - I've got a 33 running a pfc making about 330rwkw BTW - As been said by matt - A lot of the maps (unless you've got a highly modified engine) aren't usually touched by the tuner... Hence 256 is more than enough! Imagine how long it would take to go thorugh 400 fuel maps and plot them, and then a further 400 ignition maps! You'd take months to tune a car!!! matt
  3. I don't know where you guys are driving - but I've had one guy (besides mates of course) who tried to run me on the street in the last year or so... MKIV supra TT... I think ppl are afraid of the cops etc - I know I am! :eek1: matt
  4. Good good good! From the sounds of that then, I should be right with my 550's anyways matt
  5. As I mentioned on LS1.au - Congrats on your power figures mate... I'd be interested to see what sort of fuel pressure you're running - I'd be wrapt if I could up my fuel pressure and not have to fork out big bikkies for some 700+ cc jobbies. Looking forward to seeing what your car makes when you take it down to the drags! matt
  6. Denham, I'll let you know at the end of the week, I'm taking it in for the final tune this week... Re: Mods - nahh - it was all done at once... The turbo/manifold I've got were bought half way through the upgrade as my turbo at the time would have been too small for the rb30/25 combo. matt
  7. Ahh okay - Good buy for the price! He sure was giving it a hiding during the day... I think he ran a couple of 1.35's... Re: ecu - I'll pm ya. Cheers, matt
  8. Nahh - the only reason the 3ltr's don't rev as well is because they flow so much more air at any given rpm. Put some high lift cams with lots of duration, and you'll find that the 3ltr will flow plenty In any case, I'll take you for a spin in my car next time I see you... The redline is at 7500rpm, and there's still around 300rwkw at that point matt
  9. Ahhh shit! Sorry guys - I just realised I've got my first triathlon for the season on this day What time does this start - I'm probably going to be done by about 10-10:30.... matt
  10. Sam - I saw your old car at Sandown yesterday! Didn't think that was you driving it though!!! BTW - Any chance of grabbing my ecu back any time soon... matt
  11. Why would 3ltr's be cheating? It's just another way to go about making power... I know that there's a few Jap RH9 cars running around with the OS 3ltr conversion! Go the 3ltrs! matt
  12. I might try to come down. matt
  13. Hey, I actually know the guy, and he ran a 12.7 @ 117mph, not a 12.2... matt
  14. Hrmmm - Looks like our friend Greg Brindley has struck again... Turns out that it wasn't even written by the Autospeed staff... It was written by a freelance writer... A mate of mine had his car reviewed on A/S by the same guy (Greg), and said he's no good... I had Julian and Michael do mine, and they were pretty much on the money as to what I'd done etc... matt
  15. You wanna know the worst bit about it! That guy didn't even design the turbo system. matt
  16. Nahh - its got a fair bit more than 300... Probably more like 330... It makes 300 by 5000rpm, and then broke traction past 5500rpm, so I'm not sure of it's exact figures yet. It revs to 7500.... As for how quick down the track... Not sure if I'm in a hurry to run it... I've spent god knows how much money on it to get it to this stage, and it's suspension setup is for track work... To run a decent time, I'd have to fit an auto box, and some sicks, plus some front runners, and that's money I'd rather not have to spend... When I end up selling it, I might spend the $$$ just so I have the slips for 10 seconds when I sell it. BTW - MIC33R - I'm not saying that the plenum's a complete waste of money... I'm saying that for that sort of $$$ outlay, you could spend it better matt
  17. Great philosiphy! Bigger IS better That's what all the girls tell me anyways matt
  18. FYI - I've still got the standard intake plenum on my car and am making easily in excess of 300rwkw. Don't waste $1000 (minimum) on a mod like that, when $1000 could be much better spent on other mods. matt
  19. Just go see a wrecker and grab yourself a factory cast manifold... You should be able to pick one up for not much more than 100-150? matt
  20. Nice meeting all you guys Looking forward to the next one... Hopefully it'll be a liiiittle bit drier next time and we can do some twisties! matt
  21. hehehehe, I couldnt' ask you to make that sacrifice! matt
  22. You know I would, but white's not my colour matt
  23. You're right on the money there mate... Any car with more than 5 years on the clock is more than likely going to have a cat that isn't very effective at blocking all the noxious gasses coming out the back of their cars... How many people do you know that actually change em? My last car was a camira with 200,000kms on it, still running the original cat! Tell me that wouldn't have been stuffed! matt
  24. LOL - while I'm happy to tell you, my motor doesn't bear much resemblence to an RB25 anymore In any case... Most it'll usually go to is between 20-30 @ wot, with the occasional spike to 50, which is usually when I come off the throttle. When I had my '25, it was about the same... matt
  25. Very nice! Mine's kicking in hard from about 4000... The way the car drives is all in the tune tho. Obviously you've had someone who knows what they're doing tune your car. Mine's the same... Very dosile and tractable from as low as 1500rpm, but step on the gas and away she goes. I know what you mean about being scary to drive... I had wheelspin in 4th gear on the roll until I put on new azenis rubber... With as much power as they have, you really need to take them to the track to get the most out of em. That's the real problem with em too, they really only start to get really moving past 100... Good luck selling it mate, if people in Melbourne are anything to go by, most people would have no idea just how quick the car is until they're in the passenger seat. matt
