Should look around. At the Uni of Newcastle they have Open Foundation, which is a course you do to get you into uni. Thats what I did and heaps of other people I know have done it as well. Its kinda cruisy compared to the vce or hsc. It went for 12 months when I did it but now I think its only a 6 month course. Its so popular here that I would guess that many unis in victoria would have a similar program, after all the more people they have at their uni the more money they get.

My garage doors aren't wide enough. It takes precision driving to drive the car in forwards let alone backwards. Misses the mirrors by about 3cm on each side. No way you'd get a wide 4x4 in there. But I think my garage was designed for one door but instead has brick support down the middle. So it has double doors. It sounds so obvious but give yourself plenty of room either side of the car. Thats the only thing that shits me about my garage. Oh and also its full of shit now so I can't put my car in there anyway. Don't let your missus use the garage for storage, she'll take it over.

Whats The Fuel Consumption For R33 Non Tubo Manual
Patto- replied to el_bichito's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'm not sure but i guess it would be about 65 litre tank. If it is on empty when you fill it then either your float is buggered or you have a very large reserve. I don't see how a 6 cyl car would have anything much smaller than 65L. I've got a r31 that has a 65L fuel tank. I would've thought the r33s would be bigger. 9.34L per 100kms is very good for a 6cyl. I think the guy was saying that octane boost bottles are a waste of money unless your car is tuned to run on high octane. You would only need 95RON fuel in a non-turbo which is standard premium, but 98RON fuel won't hurt. -

A turbo timer keeps your engine running for a set amount of time after you turn it off. Anytime the engine is running in a manual the car has to be in neutral or the clutch has to be down. Otherwise it stalls.
-
Apparently some sources say it will be a twin-turbo 3.7L v6 that puts out more than 335kw, with a seven speed sequential manual. However this is all rumours. Also the four exhaust pipes coming out the back suggest it will be a v8. But really its anyones guess I suppose. The full specs will probably be released a lot closer to the release date to continue to build the hype.

Alternatively you could check the sticky in Skyline & Other Vehicle Specific Discussion.

It would help if you specified what state you were in. Probably a good idea to post this in a state specific forum. But yes it costs money, as far as I know the only ID you need is your L's. As far as what you should look out for, just do everything right. Don't f**k up. Hope that helps.

I don't understand the qualifying changes. Whats the point of qualifying for qualifying? Just one run to see whose the quickest is good enough. It seems to punish the fastest as they have to spend more time qualifying, but I guess in way it makes it more even I suppose. I'm not bothered by the tyre changes, but michelen is pretty pissed off. They'll probably just let bridgestone be the only tyre supplier for 2007. Undecided as to whether this is a good thing or not. I suppose it brings the performance down to the car makers and drivers rather than the tyres.

I haven't found any real differences between the 98RON fuels. In my opinion they are all pretty much the same. I use Vortex 98 most of the time because Caltex is the closest servo to my house and I have never had any problems with it.

R32 Gts Steering Wheel Into 89 R31 Ti?
Patto- replied to gts4diehard's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
The indicators never cancel in my r31 which has an aftermarket steering wheel. But my mates r31 with a standard steering wheel never cancelled either so I assumed it was an r31 thing. But anyway you get used to it. Just try putting it on. It will only take less than 5 mins to find out if its gunna fit or not. If it doesn't then you need a boss kit of some sort. -
Mechanics may be fun at first but after a while it will probably bore you out of your mind and shit you to tears as well. I know of a few mechanics who are going to tafe to get other qualifications in order to get a new job. Take the time to think seriously about what you wanna do. Then again from what I've heard mechanic apprenticeship are pretty hard to come by so I guess you'll have plenty of time to think about it.

Another repost for those who don't often visit the wasteland

I've already posted this in the wasteland but anyway I've had a few problems linking pics so I wouldn't be suprised if this doesn't work. If you can't see it let me know.

Sort of. Redneck is more a rural character. Bogans usually inhabit suburban areas. Not sure if Americans have an equivalent of a bogan. I thinks its a uniquely Australian thing. But I suppose they are pretty similar.

Found this GTS1 for sale. Wouldn't be a bad buy considering you don't want a turbo. It is a manual and has the extra bits that a gts has so it wouldn't be too slow either. Should hold its value pretty good as well. 1988 GTS
-
Like I said I saw one the white GTS1's it was for sale for $8200. I thought it was a bit much but I haven't seen it for sale lately so it must have sold. No idea what it went for.
-
Ok thanks. Sorry for hijacking your thread Chibi Angelic, if you need anymore info just ask. Also let us know what car you end up buying when you get it.
-
The guy I know that has one said he got it for $17k. I'm not sure if hes telling the truth. It might only have gts-r stickers or something. Is there a way to tell? I know that there were only 200 produced but they don't seem much different to a gts-x. The differences are roughly the same as a wrx to an sti.
-
How much is a gts-r worth? Sorry to go off topic but I know someone whos got one and just wanna know. Chibi Angelic might want one so I'm not really going off topic.

Nissan Considering Bringing In The V35
Patto- replied to scathing's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
People have put points good points forth on why the v35 won't be sold here. But drive today seems pretty positive about the chances of it coming here. They are talking mainly about the GT-R which is supposed to be a global product available to any country that wants it. With its legendary reputation in Australia from its Bathurst appearances you would think they would have no trouble marketing them. The GT-R wouldn't compete with the 350z, it would be from a much higher purchase price. The r32 GT-R sold for $110k in 1990 so I suppose this would be the main issue. Trying to sell them up against other $100k+ cars. -
Yeah i've seen one going for $8200, but personally I thought it was a bit overpriced. It was in good cond, but not showroom condition. Don't often hear that someone is going to spend $8k on an r31 but doesn't want it to be turboed. Obviously you should get extractors, exhaust, pod filter. If you want more power you could get better cams but it is expensive. Better off getting a turbo or putting in a turbo half-cut. But yeah, check the r31 skyline club website, you should find all the info you need.

^^^I don't think so. Not in NSW. My mate had blue neons on while parked. The cop had a look around his car, but there was nothing to defect. Thats when he told us the keys in pocket thing.
