  1. That just outlines problems with a 20% blend. Also I believe Nissan discourages the use of 10% blend. Optimax Extreme is a 5% blend, which as far as I know is quite safe to use in just about any car.
  2. Theres also this one, but as you will find out they don't do it very well. http://babelfish.altavista.com/ Here is an example of something translated from English to Japanese and then back to English: "What would you like to translate? Because sites like these don't do it very well. They almost always mix words up." "We would like to translate what? The place where they are these ways that being not to improve very. Those when it is the majority, mix word."
  3. The width does effect the diameter. As Beer Baron said, the profile is a percentage of the width. So wider tyres may have a lower profile to keep the overall diameter the same.
  4. No drifting and no skylines? What is the point of buying this game?
  5. ^ Yes I think unless you are the son of a multi-millionare I can guarantee that you won't drive a veyron in your lifetime As for cornering Clarkson seemed to be impressed. Of course it not going to be great around corners, you don't build a quad turbo W16 for cornering, but this one seems to do it ok.
  6. Didn't the s2000 come standard with a pod filter, enclosed in a box?
  7. He said the article was in cars guide, which would be out of Daily Telegraph in sydney and Herald Sun in melbourne. Its owned by News Corp. I seriously doubt there is any cash for comment going on. Id say its just the writers personal opinion, theres probably other motor journos at that same paper who think the GTR is anything but bland.
  8. P platers aren't allowed to have any engine performance modifications. So even if the extractors only give 0.1kw they are considered illegal for a p plater. As funkymonkey said, if they are fairly quiet cops probably won't notice them. However if they do notice them and decide to give you a fine, I believe you lose something like 7 demerit points for driving a prohibited car (as it is modified). This would mean loss of license for a p plater as you only have 4 points. You would have to get an absolute arsehole of a cop to give you this fine for just having extractors, but it is possible. So IMO its not really worth the risk.
  9. I hope so. The last games seemed too much like you just hold down the accelerator button and steer. Still an enjoyable game though.
  10. Yes thats true, but perhaps thats what the writer was getting at. They don't really compete in styling with the others as it is a four door chopped down into a two door sports car.
  11. The impression I get is that the guys is talking about GTRs. Probably means they are bland for a sports car of that price. Not exactly fair to compare it to a VN, a relatively cheap family sedan. It is best compared to other sports cars around the same time and preferably about the same price range. Example 1990 GTR: Examples of some other 1990 sports cars: I think its safe to say pop-up lights were popular in 1990.

  13. They are both 98RON. Only differences are small differences in the little additives that each company puts into their fuel. I very much doubt it would make any differences when tuning.
  14. It used be called Vortex Gold, but now its called Vortex 98
  15. Yes, theres nothing new about GM's expansion into China, and there is nothing new about GMs financial situation. I was just pointing out the use of Holden in other markets, and GMs hope that the Chinese market will save the company from bankruptcy.
  16. One of the ways GM is avoiding bankruptcy is by expanding into China. The main vehicle for this will be the Buick, based on the Commodore. As you would know Statesmans are sold in the Middle East and Monaros in US and UK. Holden is one of the major suppliers of rear-wheel drive platforms for GM brands around the world. Holden has controlling interest in Daewoo, which has turned out to be a bargain for GM, as it seems that it won't take much until it starts turning a profit, if it hasn't already. So it would not make any sense to let go of Holden or Daewoo. Also it is very unlikely that GM would collapse all together, but some serious restructuring needs to take place. Most of GMs problems are in North America, so I believe most changes will take place in North America, therefore Holden and others will be quite safe. Though it is nice to dream about HSVs built to German quality standards.
  17. I was wrong it was $US 3500 from the price of each car sold. This article explains it more clearly: http://theage.com.au/text/articles/2005/11...2421602934.html
  18. It is the agreement with the unions that is bringing GM down. I beleive the agreement was made in the late 70s when GM was considered invincible. Unfortunately the world has chnaged since the 70s, more competition from more efficient Japanese manufacturers. GM is not alone, Ford apparently has huge troubles as well, though not quite as bad as GM. GM is struggling to stop huge losses every year, not trying to make a profit. Part of the problem is that they have no money to invest as it is all tied up in employee benefits. Obviously the idea was to get the best deals for the employees, but it is having a terrible effect on GM and as such results in job losses. It is inevitable that changes have to be made before GM gets into even worse trouble.
  19. I just changed it. It worked for me.
  20. I've posted this elsewhere but for those who didn't see it, it was a little note at the bottom of the page for locating BP sites in Australia: Strangely it said nothing about WA. I tried to find more information at the BP site but could find nothing.
  21. Its called Optimax Extreme. Its 5%, we already established that. Other info: http://www.shell.com/home/Framework?siteId...ir_extreme.html http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=95389
  22. Vortex 95-96 would be bp 95-96, not bp ultimate.
  23. There are many forms of bankruptcy. GM will continue to trade as normal, though it will probably close a number of plants and end some of the less profitable brands that it owns. The problem is a union deal struck decades ago that makes it more expensive for GM to close an unproductive manufacturing plant than to keep it open. The aim of this deal was to stop GM workers losing their jobs when plants close, though it is now very bad for the whole company. As well as this GM has to pay way more medical and other benefits to its employers than the competition. This means other companies (especially Japanese) can provide cheaper prices for cars. I think about $1600 of every GM car sold goes to employee benefits. This deal with the unions is the major factor in GM's downfall, if they can file for a form of bankruptcy that allows them to cancel unions deals they may be able to get back on their feet. Because apparently GM have been negiotating to rewrite the original deal with the unions in order to save the company, but the unions aren't being very helpful.
  24. I'm not sure if any have 10% anymore. They did for a while when they didn't have to show how much ethanol was in their fuel. That was until ethanol started getting really bad press. I think there is legislation now which says that companies have to show the amount of ethanol in fuel so now I don't think anyone uses it.
  25. I saw this on the bp locater website, but couldn't find any other info: Like I said could not find any explaination for it and it said nothing about WA. BTW Nissan discourages the use of 10% blend ethanol. Optimax extreme is 5% which is able to be used in most cars without problems.
