if its all so bad then why the hell didnt the workshop tell me to stear clear instead of saying yeah its good car with minor faults...so i bought it!! dont get me wrong i love my car but if the engine goes in the near future then im gonna be P I S S E D how do i payout on workshop if it does die?

im too young to have a nervous breakdown..... how does/will an engine "let go"?

umm yeh (camshafts apparantly) pods..highflow turbos apparantly...full exhaust umm.. hks intake bits thats roughly it as far as (engine) goes (car seems to be running really well atm tho....was running there for a while shite but changed plugs and taped coils thing and seems to of made a good difference running standard boost and has about 50,000 on clock plz dont say rebuild time....i just shat myself (apart from compression what tell tale signs are there that a rebuild is needed????) others? surely its not rebuild time just need valves reseated?

Hi everyone. (this may be a crappy thead i know) Just thought id post this see if i get any reply's from the best forum on earth. So got this summery sheet from the workshop. Could you plz tell me your opinions on the list.....eg what should be fixed asap etc what you think of compression what items might mean what) thanx (will leave some of the dumber items off eg.window washers not working correctly etc) No. #3 cylander burning oil - s plug white Rocker Gasket leaking centre tailshaft universal has movement top of g/box wet with oil timing belts last done? coolant/brake fluids nedd replacing top radiator rubber mount broken RH top of suspension arm knocking left rear suspensioin arm was loose high hydrocarbons on idle - camshafts? compresion 1-140 2-150 3-125 4-120 5-155 6-120 umm yeh couple of others not worth listing etc any input appriciated (yes im going 2 get leakdown test done but broke atm) (also how much u reckon to get valves reseated?) (along with fixing all on list) nothing major there bit concerned bout comp tho but yeh just thought id put it out there btw heading 2 japan soon land of the gtr....cant wait! peace all

so how much is it going to be to get my valves ' re-seated ' and rings done approximately for a rb26dett.

uh oh sorry 2 hear that mate....umm not 2 sure what it could be...doesnt sound good tho...tried re-setting the ecu maybe? (if stock ecu) anyone else?

hey thanks...yeh cant remember wat the figures were off hand exactly only that they were a lil low nothing major and some more off from each other.... was from a basic comp test...will do leak down asap thanks again

Hey all.... So how do i improve the compression in my cylinders to get them more even/ higher , etc??? hopfully not a dumb qu helpful input would be great r32 gtr

Hey all, i am heading to japan soon, about 2 months away, just for a quick holiday...wat i wanna know is... i want to buy some cheap parts for my r32 gtr and im wondering if theres anyone out there that could reccomend any parts that would be a lot cheaper to get over there and where from and if u could give me some directions on how 2 get to it either in tokyo or nagoya (not far out of the city) on a map would be good! i wanna get some parts that i can bring back in my suitcase too rather than shipping.... my car is reasonably stockish part from the usual was thinking i wanna get either big single turbo or apex fc or suggestions... thanx

ive already put the formula r synthetic 0w-40 in so is it cool,. or should i take it out.....i live in tassie so it gets really cold here in mornings etc so i thought the 0w would be good and the engine is in fairly good nic touch wood so 0-40 should be ok yeh or too thin ?

yeh hey all, thanx 4 ur replys i took the extra oil out.....via sump plug...was a bitta fun havin a play under there even tho it was cause i did something dumb it first place but ah well. Also guys.. is Castrol Formula R Synthetic 0w-40 ok to use in my gtr? thanx

hey thanx guys...yeh ive put way to much in....long story .....about 4 f*@ckin ltrs too much! its about 2cm past the H on the dip stick v.dumb i know but hopefully easy enough 2 fix?... sump plug or oil filter method..??? thanx

Hey every1. If i have put to much oil in my engine either wat should i do or should it be ok i used ow-40w how much is too much?

what if ur car is chipped or has camshaft modifications (my r32 gtr has lumpy idle due to cam work) will anything be affected in a bad way by this? I know it should be fine due 2 the ecu self learning etc .... thnx
