  1. Whaaaa..... I hope your still not thinking of selling!
  2. Just putting some more thought into it. As a reasonably priced car that can tow, that you can also drive everyday in comfort and have a 'squirt', not to mention make long trips in... I still think a holden or something would make a good tow car. Sure, if your towing EVERYDAY I wouldn't get one, but for up to 12 trackdays a year, for sure. That's only like 3-5% of your driving per year. Im not sure If I want a noisy 4x4 for the other 95% of my driving... Just some more food for thought.
  3. Thanks
  4. Personally, I think the Hankook R-S3 are a fantastic all round tyre. for street and track!
  5. I have been thinking of getting a VX II SS holden. Cheap ($9 - 12k), ride well, got all the creature comforts (leather, sunroof, power everything, cruise), sounds good, and being a V8 they tow really well. Just wont have the economy of a small turbo diesel (3ltr 4cyl), but will have ALOT more torque.
  6. ^ well....... hurry up. I'm waiting.
  7. Looks great! More pictures of on-track?
  8. Thanks! Things are slowly starting to happen with the car.. Engine will get its first mock build in a week or so. New front bar is getting moulded along with front flares and rear bar. Still waiting on some rear flares which has been the biggest holdup so far... Hoping to get it running by Xmas... 19-20th of December.
  9. New manifold just arrived... and it was well worth the wait!
  10. Okay, so nothing interesting has happened since my last update. We are still waiting on parts from Voltex. I need to find some Evo 9 front and rear lights to suit the exterior of the car. So the body of the car... nothing is happening. Engine wise we haven't touched it. No rush because the body is still 4-6 weeks off. Only real updates I do have is that my exhaust manifold has finally finished. It was sent two days ago, and should land in a week or so (sent from the US of A). And I purchased a new gauge cluster for my car... 300kp/h and 10,000rpm on it. Booya! It will be needed.
  11. THIS! This statement is VERY true.
  12. I find it interesting that FP no longer offer twin scroll housings........ Oh, right... when the SUPER 94 isnt enough... lol
  13. Im down for that... Been a while since I went to a Bathurst BBQ
  14. Super ghay.
  15. Was good to see you on sunday mate. Was also good to meet 'Ruxis' last friday.
  16. It was a GREAT catchup. Shame it couldnt have been longer. Im back late september. for two weeks (although one of those weeks I am in NZ), better catchup then? Yeah, my nugget wont be ready for many months yet. Will be lucky to be end of year at this stage for run-in. But YES, we need to run amok again. Im jealous, you seriously have the PERFECT streeter. What a weapon.
  17. Went for a ride in this beast on sunday. What a weapon. AWESOME street/track setup. I'd go as far to say it is the ultimate/perfect setup. No Lag, Quiet idle/cruise, mental when the foot is down. Handling and brakes are great for the street. Love it. Well done Mat and the crew at Just Engine Management for a well sorted package.
  18. :-/ Its at 6 or 7 or something like that mate. Make sure you do show your face! I'll be devo if you dont show! haha
  19. So thats what it is!
  20. Yup..! I have too much invested in my Evo to push it past 7/10 on the track. Its still quick, but I just dont want to damage it. The go-kart I thrash the shit out of it because its soooo cheap in comparison. I REALLY drive it to the edge compared to the Evo.
  21. And still cheaper then a $25k car damaged at a trackday... Driving a car fast on track is good fun, and is also risky (financially).. So many things can go wrong and get damaged. Even wear and tear is expensive. A go-kart is sooooo much fun. They are crazy quick, and the speed you can pull through corners is in line with proper race cars with aero etc. not to mention they teach you so much about chassis and suspension setups. You should at least go to a come and try day.
  22. Nah, you dont need to rebuild after every race, unless you want to win a championship. I race just for fun and times. It costs me on average $50 for a day, including fuel and mainenance, and after 4-6 days, a set of tyres. They cost $230 for a set of slicks. Its good cheap fun. Like anything though, If you want to get serious, then it costs big money. If you want to just have a bit of fun (like going to wakefield), the its cheap as chips. Honesly, Go-Karts are sooooo cheap compaired to running at wakefield. For one trip to wakefield, you could do a kart trackday every week for a month, including a new set of tyres. Father-in-law and I just built a trailer to haul our karts to and from the track. It cost $150 for the materials, we welded it all together and bolted it to his 6x4" box trailer. Done.
