  1. And thats all you can do. Tried not to reply in this ECU war thread cause its pointless. Fact is, the above statement is something no one can argue with. If your tuner tunes Power FC poorly, you'll find poor results, if they love it, its your best option. as with other ECU's. No point arguing. Only thing I think we'll all agree on, is since upgrading ECU's to aftermarket, its worth the upgrade!
  2. The run fine bit is what I was worried about. Buying a turbo performance car when you don't want performance is a whole other issue.
  3. wouldn't the turbo engine have lower comp than the non-turbo. will the computer work very well like that? You will have a low comp engine, larger injectors, turbo ecu and it won't run well at all. why are u doing this to yourself? are you doing it so you can keep the car and throw the turbo back on when its all done? why don't you just sell it, by time she can drive a turbo car again, get a better one... prices are coming down all the time.
  4. pm sent. As I sent in pm, I'll take it, if, DVD drive works, Battery holds charge, comes with charger.
  5. I'll get paid from the company that actually obtains the loans to set this up. Hopefully going on 12 month contract as their chief technology officer, so the more deals they put through, the better for me. They would ofcourse love to have skylines australia putting through deals to them. They have already worked on a few as I said and people buying cars are usually after more than $20k and they aren't your typical dead beat debt consolidation person. So its a pretty good client that comes off these forums usually. So yes, I will be better off if deals go through this site. If not direct $$$ per loan amounts. SAU will make a certain amount of $$$ per deal. Client gets Finance without going to broker, MASSIVE convienience, plus cheaper, cause the broker would go through a multilender system like ours anyway, but ad their cut, which is bigger than the SAU cut would be. Ofcourse the company that sorts out the loan make money from commision also. So typically, broker gets say $120 from us, maybe a service fee of $400 (but trust me, I have seen some much higher). We'd only pay SAU say $100 (because the automated system is built, they don't have to actually do anything). Client doesn't pay that $400 service fee, cause their is no broker, just SAU. Client is $400 better off. SAU is $100 up, cause they don't have such a system now Our company is $50 better off than if it went through a broker, but maybe would have never got that client at all, so even better. The only people that won't like this, are brokers that deal alot with car finance and car yards themselves. The company I used to work for, who suck arse, were neg with large online car sites... not sure if I can mention who, but lets just say, think BIG. However because they sucked arse, didn't happen... no really, they lick bot bot. So this is a similar, yet simpler concept. Nice and easy to see exactly what is happening. Its not magic, its just cutting out the need for finance brokers and car yards. Which is what the private sale section does anyway, its a virtual car yard... but you can't get finance through your virtual car yard... yet...
  6. Last post was hell long. So a quick summary is: I don't sell finance. I write code. They aren't directed off this site. It appears internal to SAU to a user. SAU receive $$$ for each settled loan they submit to the database of loan requests. I don't see how it doesn't benefit SAU. They just have a form in the for sale section that lets people apply for finance, for each settle application they get $$$.
  7. Perhaps you fail to understand what I am getting at. Let me dumb it down.... with a case study, about Fred who wants to by a car. Typically, Fred has two options. Buy a GTR(cause who wants to buy anything else) from a car yard, as I posted earlier, they provide no warranty, they don't test the turbo's or do a comp or leak down test, and he pays $23K+ for an 89 in average condition. The advantage is, the car yard offers finance. Option two, is Fred buys from the forum. Private sale, still needs finance, goes and pays Bobby Simpkis to be his broker. The broker either charges a broker fee or doesn't (either way he still gets a cut from the bank, but I bet you already knew that, cause you seem pretty switched on ) My suggestion is to CUT OUT THE BROKER.... yeah... thats right. NO BROKER. SAU GET $$$ instead of the BROKER. I don't want to be a trader. I have no intention in ever meeting any of these people or hearing from them. I wish the system to be fully automated. So its not like an ad. Its a page, on the forum, where someone wanting Finance enter's their details, then they are contacted later from the company that sources the loan. Each time someone enters their details, obviously the database knows where the lead originated, if its successful, SAU gets a little cheque at the end of the month. For doing nothing. Just having a page. Typical car loan for over $20K would see them getting around $100. I don't know how much stuff you read before posting that, but I'm not a broker, I haven't made any money out of the people who have asked me for Finance. I am a software developer and I stand to make money from building the database that facilitates this. Please try and read more before posting misguided shite. I have emailed old mate, countless times, I know he doesn't respond to PM's. He has responded once, thank god he got the concept quickly, however haven't heard back again.
  8. Does it have a DVD player? I'd suggest it would. Its worth alot more than $350! If it has a DVD player, post some pics I might be interested at the price you are asking. Is it essentially this notebook? ebay similar notebook Keep in mind that one has wireless and a DVD burner, also in great condition. Still yours is worth $500. so post some pics and give the rest of the specs. I would also suggets it doesn't have a standalone 32MB graphics card and the reason for 448MB of ram is that is have 512 and a bios option to share system memory for card is currently set to 64MB.
  9. Yeah, tried that many times. Could only actually get in touch by responding to a warning Been putting people through manually while waiting anyway. :sorcerer:
  10. I have been looking at prices of GTR's ever since I sold mine 6months or more ago, as I'm itching to save up and get back in one... I thought you would be looking at prices too if you are ready to buy one.... So many GTR's go for under $30K, with aftermarket turbos and a rebuild and better supporting mods. It flew... nice. My GTR flew, complete with 20psi less comp in three cylinders. So much blow by, it blew the dip stick out. Can you quantify 'flew'... Reminds me of Dad telling me that I don't know what a fast car is until I have been in his old kingy, with tripple carbi's cause it 'flew'.... Hot GTR 1 Hot GTR 2 How can you be interested in GTR's and not browse that forum to see what else is on offer? There are that many on there. There is a couple to get you started.
  11. Sure 12months warranty will still be valid once you add a chip... Its not a bad price for a Box with a chip in it. Who installs mod chips for $50 anyway?? It might be hard to sell a standard box for $200+, but for those that have used modded xboxes, they know the power is only unleashed once you chip it and install a decent hard drive. XBox 360 may come down to $500 for a complete pack within 6months or 12 months, but who cares, until they have chips for them, $100 per game is gonna suck arse. $350 with all the games you want and ability to play DIVx and all sorts of file types, use as FTP server, do what you want. its a bargain. I might be interested in a month, I'd say it will be gone by then...
  12. Woah, now I'm lost. My point before was that the guy asked if you could still stock ECU features with microtech, then everyone arked up about how shit microtech was, even though it was so not the time. Why you would get rid of a power fc for a microtech... i'm not so sure on that one.... anyway, i still think i came closest to answering the initial question of how to hook up a microtech so 4ws and shit still works.... lol
  13. It was crazy. I live above a school / charity organisation which has a bus that drives seaman around when they come on shore and have no transport. So I was talking to the priest that works down stairs. Just talking to him must have called on the big guy up stairs, few minutes later, the cops rocked up. It was just around the corner, the idiots tried to start it, but couldn't. so they just stashed behind one of the workshops up the road. Bike alarm hey... i was just thinking about that. how do they work. i was just gonna sell the bike, but i really don't want to sell it, tell me about the alarm and how much
  14. Nope. Still, closer talking about any turbo piston engine than stuff people think with no back up. Yes it is a gazelle, why wouldn't it be? Its only 158rwkw cause its only 9psi and its only 2.0L. the point was, that is good for that engine, and it was acheived with a microtech. You have seen them make more on less boost have you? Why do you laugh? Sorry I used a dyno sheet to show responsiveness, it was the only thing I had to aid my argument. As that is no good, just trust me, my driveability is much better than it was before. He actually DIDN'T ask what you thought of microtech, he DID ask about if 4WD would still work? Did anyone else talk about how to hook the microtech up so it would? I can see this turning into a MAP vs MAF debate aswell as ECU wars. Why not stay on topic?? How to use the microtech so that the other computer controlled features remain.
  15. The best way for you to install is to run the stock computer. Makes cold start easier too. That way the microtech just controlls, ignition and fuel. ofcourse it has the ability to control many other things. It will be easy to install, just get the pin out diagram, give it the TPS, water temp, CAS, then out puts to injectors and ignition modules, also its MAP sensor and thats about it. It will drive on base map, go get it tuned. $300 for full tune at RX Engineering. don't know where u are tho...
  16. Idiots. Back that up. Microtech is an awesome ECU. Ever run one??? Ever installed one??? I have done both. They are easy to install. They improved my response and driveability on BOTH my piston engines! SR20 making 158rkws on 9psi. Know many SR20's that do that? Look at the power curve. Does it look undriveable? The computer is only as good as the tuner. If people have had dealings with useless tuners, don't blame the hardware. Your advice is not helping this guy.
  17. You have an NSX and you make a GTR LOOK A LIKE?! mind you, it does actually look alike. thats pretty damn cool.
  18. Recovered!! wooot! No damage except ignition barrel. how lucky! peace out
  19. Blue FZR250RR Magnum exhaust Plates UTL-15 Stolen on Industrial Drive, Newcastle. Will pay $500 to have it back. That way who ever has sent it to the chop shop can get their pay cheque without having to bother chopping it up. Has been reported. I would like to simply pay for its safe return though. Email daniel@vitechnologies.net
  20. I don't think CT26's are easy to find either. I rebuilt mine on my 3SGTE ($700). It was my first turbo and I must say it is a bad introduction, its huge compared to other 2L turbo sized turbos, I was expecting to see another big bad boy on the SR, but no.
  21. Thanks man. Yeah, I think they should go for it. I think maybe I just haven't asked the right people. I wrote to PranK or whatever the admin dude that did alot of the PHP work apparently. Maybe he doesn't respond to PM's. Who should I write to and make aware of this thread so they can review and respond? And on that note, I have written my system in such a way that an IFRAME can easily be added to a page of skylines australia style and we could even apply the skylines australia styles if that was an issue for them.
  22. BUMP. Any feedback from skylinesaustralia yet??? You guys don't want to help members get finance for vehicles in your for sale section? An interesting point, I went to a car yard that specialises in imports here in Newcastle. I think its interesting to note that they use just some of the products that we could over through an online system for finance. They also, DO NOT leak down, or compression test their imported vehicles and warranty on say an 89/90 model GTR, would be negotiated, as in, probably no warranty unless you pay alot for it. So whats the advantage paying $25k for a GTR from the car yard, when there are some going for $17k here on the forums. Neither offer warranty and the car yard was even hesitant when I asked if I could do a compression test before purchasing a vehicle, or inspecting the turbos for shaft play. We cut out the car yards cut of the finance and the money goes to SAU and the consumer instead, at the same time helping people sell their cars privately (increasing the value of privately sold cars). Why no feedback???
  23. [Deleted by PranK] - No chatting in For Sale areas!
  24. There would be around 25 different lenders that loans would be going to. So should be able to find a product to suit. Thats pretty much it, get your details online, rather than you having to go to an office. Cuts down on alot of wasted time making appointments and travel and crap. The company I was going to interface with doesn't actually start until 01 May 2006, but I asked them to take your details and sort something out for you. If they can land you finance easily, it will be a good example for others in similar positions that it can be done, with minimal fuss. Also, if alot of people start using a particular service, lenders can and WILL be influenced. The company I used to work for had alot of say in the product a lender would offer, because it didn't bother us what the lender charged, if it was too much, we'd use a different lender, so they HAD to compete, other wise it was wasting their time. So if lots of people start asking for finance like the guys I have heard from so far, young, good income, no debt, but want an import car, as long as you guys don't start screwing them around and defaulting on loans, the lenders will open up new products to suit the market and thats good news for everyone.
  25. Ok, thanks for all the PM's guys, lol I wasn't actually just trying to drum up business, but I am surprised you guys seemed to struggle with finance, cause I can't see how you won't get any with your situations. Its about knowing HOW to ask for it and wording the loan purpose correctly. So obviously there is a need for people to get finance on here, would people like an interface they could put in all their details then either be emailed or phoned and told whether they are going to be in with a chance or not? Does any of the admin people have any feedback?
