  1. the mechanic said that the water had been sucked straight through my pod filter. im lucky it didnt stuff the whole engine because water doesnt compress that well lol
  2. I agree with 4door sleeper. I was reading an old HPI magazine recently and they did a review on the benefits of upgrading AFMs to Z32 or Q45s. it said until well above 250rwkw on sr20, rb25 and 26's the stock AFM doesnt cause a noticable restriction.
  3. I had a similar symptoms and it turned out to be water in the intake from when i drove through a really huge puddle during a storm. went away... eventually
  4. lol i thought it was funny. but seriously rik it looks cool but its a defect if you get caught and you've paid all that money for nothing. I remember reading an Autosalon magazine ages ago about this R34GTR from Indonesia that had scissor doors that could also be opened normally. Im thinking it was a custom job though. Worth a thought when your risking a bit of money...
  5. Hey you didnt buy that off an importer named Ron in thornton Newcastle did u?
  6. Could have sworn i saw you at Nobbys last thurs nite... Has anyone seen that gold 33GTR SECRT? Tidiest 33 ive seen for ages
  7. Thats what MacGyver said man
  8. Lol yeah i went to Rons last week. L Plater 33 went there with me he's just trying to be a cunny funt, its where he bought his 33gtst too. While he was on his L's (cough parents are wogs cough). Yeah he had a nice 96 series 2 with 18' Volk racing rims, kit, cat back and wing and it was 19500. Had a Apexi power FC too, but it didnt run as well as my mates, meaning it pulled nowhere near as hard. All that my mate has extra is a HKS front mount, pod and CAI. Should there be that much of a difference because of these modifications? I was thinking the poor performance could be due to the tune done in Japan. RX engineering quoted me $600 to tune, plus i would have to buy a second hand hand controller cos it got ripped during transit, so that went a bit past my budget. They said they are a pain in the ass to tune and require around 7-8 hours dyno time to get a good result, apparently a lot of load points or something? They recommended (i think) a Microtech, priced at $1400, plus $200 for a tune, again going past my budget. And it also had a drift gearknob which worried me. Security, yeah thats cheap but you lose a fair bit from auto, plus the year and kms. EDIT: and im guessing it looked nothing like it does in your pic it looks awesome atm
  9. lol guess that settles it. Are you going to take it off Carsales? How often to you update www.allblitz.com.au whole cars section if you dont mind me asking?
  10. Im looking for an R33 and i found this on Carsales. Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this car, its history or if it seems like a good price for the year and modifications. If theres anything that you want to say but not post please PM me. Thanks for your help. http://carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!c...rch_distance=25
  11. Yeah thats fair enough
  12. Doesn't putting twenties on a Skyline defeat the purpose of owning a performance car?...
  13. what the! ive never seen those before. not available under SEVS im guessing? what do they cost?
  14. Thanks for the info guys, especially Merlin. exactly the info im looking for. Im going to the importer on Thursday to see what he has got!
  15. So up to 30-40% is acceptable for old engines? Would 95 rb25det be classed as old? Also, has anybody had experience with asking importers for these tests? Will they mind or get annoyed at you? Boz22n, as i dont know how to conduct these tests, i would probably ask the importer to test them for me. Im not real sure if they would let me tip oil down their spark plug holes : S lol.
  16. Yeah i did try the search button, but i got the sh*ts after looking thru 15 thrreads with no luck, including about 10 pages of the RB30DET guide before i found out how damn long it is. Thanks for the information Bob, helped me heaps
  17. Anyone? Just want to know whats ok and whats a bad result...
  18. Do you have to have owned the car for a certain amount of time in Japan as well, or can you pick it up the day before, etc as long as you have been living in Japan for a year?
  19. Sorry mate i get that one! I bought a 91 Charade hatchback 4 months ago while im saving for my R33. It has a 996cc engine (not even a litre) and average petrol for the week is 10-11 bucks! Im even thinking of keeping it when i buy the skyline its so cheap to drive to work. EDIT : And its a three cylinder lol
  20. Well im weeks away from having the cash to buy an R33, and just wanted to know some information about Leakdown and Compression Tests. Firstly, how are they conducted? And secondly, what results are considered acceptable and what should i avoid, or whats a safe cutoff point? Thanks
  21. ah ok how long is the list? how long until i could get one do you think?Where abouts in the hunter are you, im in elermore vale
  22. Yeah sounds like a top idea mate. Let us know how it goes!
  23. What does CSO stand for?
  24. Yeah i know it was his parents car. and you can get an exemption to drive your parents car , you would just have to think of a good reaso. like what if your parents only own a v8 or turbo car? And you cant afford a car of your own at the moment
