  1. You would be surprised how many extra square metres the area beyond the boundary adds to the total playing area. We use those oversized tennis balls. Not that easy for one touch ball control for us amateurs. We just started a new season last week. We lost 2-6 but the other team only had 4 of its regular players and had 2 ring ins borrowed from another team (we were the first game). One of them is the best player in our comp and the other is pretty good as well. Both were better players than the members of the other team and scored 4 goals between them. I think it would have been pretty tight if the other team had their usual squad. I'm looking forward to this season as we finally seem to have a settled team although most are strangers to each other and still learning each others names. We just have 1 ref - and I don't think he is that great. Occasionally we get the older guy from Marion who I think is pretty good. Don't think we could join another comp though - we are the shit team in ours and have only won 1 & drawn 3 games this year. One spanking a week is enough. Hopefully this will change now that I don't have different players every week. Try this one. Kristian - what years were the R32 N1s produced? One guy on these forums states that he has a R32 GTR N1 V-Spec II. Now find me one of those that is in mint condition, never tracked and fitted with a/c and we'll talk.
  2. Congrats Linden. Flying the Aussie flag proudly. Well done.
  3. We play at O'Halloran Hill on Monday nights. We play on a full size basketball court + the extra 1-1.5m surrounding the court as the ball never goes out. Skill is an advantage but if you have no fitness you (plural/general you, not you specifically Krishy) will struggle. I can't last a 15 minute half without subbing off at least once.
  4. Kye if either of your brothers need a run during summer I have an indoor soccer team that occasionally needs players. Already had d&butts, FOOLBOOST & Evil34 play from SAU. A few star juniors would round our team out nicely
  5. You're kidding right? I'd take a F40, Enzo, 430 Scuderia, F430, 599 GTB or F355 (in that order) before I'd pick either a F50 or 512TR. However I agree with you about all Ferraris pre F355 (with the notable exception of the F40). Having said all of that I'd still pick the GTR over the F360.
  6. Sorry to hear about your dog Dave. I had to put my dog down last year and it still brings a tear. What was her name and what type of dog was she? Can you post a pic? Really? Surely after your experiences in 1 night you can understand why a club wouldn't want you to wear a logo that has the ability to incite random acts of violence. Pretty logical rule really. Imagine if you had to deal with this repeatedly on a nightly basis. Having said that I wasn't aware such rules existed in Adelaide. I used to wear a Barcelona top out occasionally and never had any issues getting into places but I haven't worn it out for years now (it's too worn now and needs replacement). I guess Barca are a less hated team too.
  7. Thanks for the offers guys (and the call Kim) but I managed to speak with John Keen and he'll fit the GTR in at Southern Hi-Tech sometime on Thurs & Fri. Dave - do you want me to pull out that R33 GTR driver's seat?
  8. I am hoping that some of the more mechanically minded may be able to help me out for this track day. As many of you will know from my constant whining my R32 GTR has been off the road for 17 months now. It was released to me briefly for the last driver training day and I have organised to get it again this Thursday 19 Nov and return it the following Tuesday 24 Nov. The car has not finished being corrected/fixed after it was 'repaired' but the front end should be done. What I need help with is completely flushing & bleeding the brakes, fitting hoses to the oil catch can & a general look over the car to make sure that it is ok to take to Mallala. I have called 4 workshops but they are all booked out and can not get to my car until after the track day. I should point out that I have NO mechanical knowledge and due to injuries from crashes have limited physical ability to work on cars. Obviously I would compensate anyone who helped me with $ or alcohol or anything (non-sexual) that they would like. PM me if you're able to help out. Cheers.
  9. Just to confirm JDM R35 GTRs are still available to import as long as they were manufactured before 20 Feb, 2009. RVCS Entry No.: 477/01. I searched the website to try and find out the exact number of km allowed but wasn't able to find it. One thing that no-one has mentioned is that JDM R35 GTRs can only be registered as 2 seaters. I know that the rear seats are tiny but with the ADM cars you are allowed to put a passenger in the back.
  10. Congratulations Ben and Nene. Don't you mean Fulched Krishy?
  11. 1st - (Mum's) 1978 Toyota Corolla - written off. 2nd - 1989 Peugeot 205 GTi - written off. 3rd - 1991 Peugeot 205 GTi - current daily. 4th - 1989 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR- sold. 5th - 1989 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR - current track/fun car. 6th - 1989 Bentley Eight - written off.
  12. As far as I'm aware you CAN still import a brand new JDM R35 GTR as long as it was built before Feb 2009 and has less than xxxkm. (I believe the limit is 200km but wanted to check for certain. Unfortunately the RAWS website is currently stating "The RAWS Web Site is currently unavailable due to regular maintenance. It will be available again at 01:30 (Eastern Australian time)." However when it's back up and running you should find the info linked from this page). David the real question you need to ask yourself is do you intend to modify the GTR? If the answer is yes then get a JDM R35. If the answer is no then you need to ask yourself do you intend to track the car regularly? Again if the answer is yes then get a JDM car because to maintain your Nissan Australia warranty you need to have pre & post trackday inspections and this can add up to a lot of $. Lastly is a warranty important to you? Personally I would get the JDM and then go visit the people at Willall (as I live in Adelaide) but I know that there as other aftermarket R35 GTR specialists in Australia (Just Jap, CRD etc). Either way you will probably join the list of people I envy - those that own a R35 GTR.
  13. I bought on of these last year as a Christmas present to myself. I'm actually sitting in it right now as I type this. There are 3 things that I don't like about it. The plastic piece for the harness straps just above the GTR logo is really hard and not at all comfortable. It's not an issue if you are sitting up straight but if you put the seat back and put your feet up it's right where your head makes contact. When the seat arrived the holes in the base plate did not line up with the holes in the seat. This was pretty easy to fix put annoying none-the-less. But most annoying is the fact that the gas for the seat to raise and lower it failed to maintain its height after 3 months. This means that whenever I want to sit in it I have to raise the height and then it will gradually drop down in small increments. This really pisses me off but it would cost me another $80 in postage to send it back to Just Jap. Would I buy another - probably not. Best to get a proper office chair and get it refurbished in leather and a GTR logo.
  14. Well someone was definitely happy about it. I did a search on Google Images for 'ladies throwing vaginas' and this page came up. Scroll down a bit for the cartoon.
  15. Hi awsam & welcome to SAU. To help you survive these forums, have fun, get some answers to your questions and learn about the joys and agony of owning a Skyline I'll give some advice/direction: You should have started here: Newbie Introductions You should use this whenever you have a question: Search Function And you should read these: SAU Guidelines But to answer some of your questions most here would recommend Boostworx for a RB25. Inputting +recommend + workshop into the above mentioned search function returned this result. As you can see there are many threads covering this topic. Have a read. For car audio you get 10% discount at Autobarn Mile End & Ministry of Bass if you become a member of SAU-SA. (That was a plug for SAU-SA & the sponsors not a recommendation for or against). I have heard good things about the audio work that SAU member Jack88 does but have never met the guy personally. I would suggest you PM him when you have enough posts.
  16. Personally if I was considering a Ferrari it would be F355 or the F430. The 360 never really did it for me. But I have never driven a Ferrari nor a R35 GTR so WTF would I know. My advice for anyone considering between different cars is drive both, and then drive another car that you hadn't considered just to give you a different perspective - in this case maybe a 993 or 996 Porsche 911. And N/A - how the hell do older Porsches look dated? They all look the same! The 993 & 997 look virtually identical. The 996 just has different headlights. Pre-993s wouldn't be in this price range.
  17. Peter Hall, Steve Cramps, Mark Tillbrook, Jim Souvas, Martin Donnon, Ben don't-know-his-last-name (owner of Racepace in Melbourne) and I'm sure there are a few others.
  18. Hi Mitch & Cara, I'm David 35/mature/non-shit taker/attention avoider/(parts of) life ruined by other drivers. Who's life have you ruined? Did it involve witchcraft or voodoo? Are you getting better at it? I think there may be a business opportunity for you, similar to a 'cooler' at casinos.
  19. I pretty much agree with everything that Heslo said. For an oil cooler get one that sits in the brake ducting rather than in front of the radiator. As for cost buy from Japan - Nengun, Greenline, Perfect Run, Import Monster or RHD Japan. With the current exchange rate against the greenback check out some USA sites as well and see how they compare. There is soooo much info on what to do with an RB26 on SAU that you can get lost but you will soon figure out who knows what they're talking about. Most of the oil mods won't happen until you open the engine so start saving for it. Until that time stay off the rev limiter and put an extra litre of oil in for track days or if you intend to do some launches.
  20. I just finished watching this movie and I'm going to have to call you a pussy Luke! I started watching it after midnight, alone in my house with all the lights off and all the windows and doors open and I kept waiting for the scary stuff to start. It didn't. The only thing I got out of it was that the boyfriend was a tosser and [deleted to avoid spoilers].
  21. Congrats Martin. Who was piloting the car at the time? Can you provide a list of the mods done on the Willall GTR? Are you still running the standard turbos as they came from Nissan or have you upgraded to the WR35MTT? Also interested in the weight of the Willall GTR compared to a standard R35 GTR. How many kilos do all the diff coolers, transmission cooler & oil pan add? Has the Willall car gone on a diet other than the 18" wheels?
  22. Done! Always wanted to drive a R34 GTR. We can wait until I get my R32 GTR back and do some back to back comparisons. I'm keen to see how your brakes go as well. And done! Always wanted to go in a nicely modified Supra as well.
  23. er... you're kidding right George? R34 GTR V-Spec has a four wheel independent channel ABS, P/S, HICAS, ATTESA E-TS & an active LSD. That's nearly as much aids as Africa.
  24. For carbon door trims you might want to search for any German GTR specialists. In a rule that I find bizarre they can legally strip their cars of practically everything but must have door trim on the front doors. As a consequence a lot of carbon door trims are made in Germany for all sorts of models. Of course it may be difficult to find a German GTR specialists - perhaps they can help more at GTROC UK.
  25. It takes me longer to drive to Mallala than to Tailem Bend - or rather I should say it takes me longer to get home from Mallala (due to peak hour traffic all the way) than it does to get home from Tailem Bend. But likewise I am known to use the back roads instead of the Freeway. The way I see it two venues are better than 1 and it seems we have been holding out/hoping for the Gillman complex for a several years now and the government will NOT approve it.
