I'm glad that you're ok Chef and that Luke is not too distressed over the accident. Hopefully I don't suffer the same fate tomorrow in my mate's series 3 R33 GTR.
-
That sucks mate! I just saw a pic on FB. Hopefully nothing too serious. I guess you'll have a R34 GTR N1 to drive around in soon...

The AFL starts again tonight and I know there are some posters on here that like their Aussie Rules (and some posters who don't). I thought we may as well have another thread about it as I'm sure the rivalry will begin again between supporter groups. Anyone entered the AFL, Sportsbet or Herald Sun free tipping competitions? Do you have a league? Anyone interested in participating in a SAU one? Anyone entered a Dream Team or Super Coach squad? Again these are free competitions with A new Toyota FJ Cruiser as 1st prize for Dream Team and $50,000 1st prize for Super Coach. I'm going to the Crows v Hawks on Saturday night. Should be a good game although I'm not confident that the Crows will win.

WTB : Stock 1998 series 3 R33 GTR stuff. R33 GTR standard ECU. Front bar (preferably black). Rear parcel shelf. Rear driver's side inner trim. Stock turbos (can be from a R34 GTR). Must be in working order and good condition! Stock injectors. Stock AFMs. Also need coilovers for the 1998 R33 GTR. Must be in good condition and suitable for everyday driving on the street ie not too firm. As well as an exhaust system including a cat that is not too loud and does not drone. Looking to return a car back to stock so only really interested if I can get the lot. Don't want to end up with lots of parts that I then have to sell myself. This will be coming out of my pocket for someone else's car! Which really f***s me off. Will need to swap over parts if you're able to help in that regard. Reacharounds for all. Thanks guys.

I responded on FB but not in this thread. I shall be attending. It's on the night after my b'day so I automatically win all the prizes right?
-
I really don't see the issue with the graphics for the standard cars. The view I use when driving doesn't even show the car and I CBF watching a replay. I'm more about working my way through the game and collecting a nice garage. I'm loving the new Online Collector's Dealership.

I've sent an 'Add a friend' message to everyone in this thread who listed their PSN usernames. So far only rad32 & skyhi 33 have accepted (already had Vu). List your details peoples and we can organise some SAU-SA online races. I'm only at L11 for A & L1 for B. Have just started playing it a bit more the last couple of nights. Have only bought 1 car so far - a Civic Type R - that I had to buy to begin the game, the rest are prizes. I missed a R32 GTR N1 that was available the first day I went to the 2nd hand shop (didn't have enough $ or A level to buy it). Only a R34 GTR M-Spec Nur has come up since and costs too much for now.

You aint no Mo-Bro Luke!
-
I didn't pose for my photo and had to take it myself but the mo - which I refer to as 'The Poolman' - came up ok. I found 1 person that liked it and many that didn't.
-
Enough talk bitches. Put up your usernames so we can have some SAU races. I'm writeoff3.
-
I think the message on the back of the other ute should give you a clue.
-
Tell me those chops are more than 12 days old. I'll post my 'poolman' mo when I have something a bit more substantial to show.

That they can accurately diagnose the problem and then fix it properly. This is the ONLY one that really matters for me. I've been to too many workshops that get it right 85% or maybe 90%, and their mistakes have cost me a lot of $$$$. Communication is good but I'd rather a surly mechanic who got it right 100% of the time than a great guy who made mistakes regularly. I don't do any mechanical work on my GTR and I need to have confidence in the car when on the track.
-
Congrats on the car! Nice ride. Where does the oil catch can drain back to - the sump, the hole for the dipstick, back to the turbos?

Some other info would have been nice in this thread, specifically: What car do you drive? What is its power output? What is its weight? What calipers & discs are you using? What brake fluid? Do you have braided lines? Street or Track or both? In the R32 GTR (~335rwkW, 1480kg, stock Sumitomo calipers, DBA 4000 rotors, Motul RBF660 with Braided lines) I have used Bendex Ultimates , EBC Greenstuff & Ferrodo DS2500 . In my mate's R33 GTR (~330rwkW, 1530kg, stock Brembo calipers & DBA 4000 rotors) he has Project Mu (not sure which type but they are track/street ones) which are very noisy when cold but grip really well and his entire brake setup is vastly superior to mine. In my Peugeot 205 GTI (52fwkW, 900kg, stock calipers & DBA slotted rotors) I use EBC Greenstuff. Because the Pug is so light the Greenstuff is quite good and much better than in the heavier GTR. I have tracked both my cars at Mallala. The DS2500 do fade a bit after 3 hard laps and after ~8 laps I need to come in as they are literally smoking. However, they have lasted 3 track days so far as well as various hills runs & daily driving and still have plenty of meat left on them.
-
This is a great day and an opportune time to learn the apexes of Mallala which are very technical and not where you would expect them to be. Judging from some of the lines people were taking at the recent SAU-SA trackday this training would be well worthwhile.

I've had the KU36 on my R32 GTR with ~335rwkW for 2 track days, many hills runs & plenty of A to B driving. In the dry they are great. In the wet they are good. On one hills run we started in the dry and after an hour it started to rain. The KU36 did slip slightly in the wet but I could feel the tyres and could adjust my driving to suit the conditions. It was still great fun and we were still motoring along quite nicely. Like Scandy & Joey said above, don't drive like an idiot in the wet and you'll be fine. Would I buy them again? YES. What is their greatest feature? Bang for Buck! There are better tyres, but they may cost more than twice as much.

Keep your babies away. I hired a post digger for $180 for 24 hours.
-
I need some SAU help to clear my defect. I need to borrow stock suspension parts for a R32 GTR. Specifically: non-adjustable caster and camber arms (front and rear) shocks and springs
-
I won't be going to this. My car still has 4WD, ABS & HICAS issues that I have to fight with the insurance company to get fixed and I haven't heard back from my mate (who's at the Nurburgring atm - bastard!) about putting the R33 GTR on the dyno. I apologise for the late notice.

You ate a burger and someone else's schnitty - were you still hungry?

1st - It's you're not 'your'. 2nd - It's their career/records not 'there'. If you are going to have a crack at small talent pools then at least show that you're not from a low gene pool. However, to stay on topic and address the names you put forward: (IMO) G Ablett Snr & Carey were better than McLeod. Voss & Akermanis I would put on par with McLeod. Goodes is a few rungs below - has never won a B&F at Sydney despite 2 umpires' awards. You listed 5 players over a 30 year span. That would suggest that McLeod is a very elite league, if not one on his own. What he does have are 3x BOG performances in 3 successful Grand Finals. He was also pretty decent in Preliminary finals and was a pioneer of the half-back flanker role that now get tagged by opposition forwards. Remember you said 'many' players match and exceed McLeod. I still disagree with that statement. Edit for SLED: McLeod - AFL Players Association MVP: 2001. I agree that this is more valuable than the umpires' award.
-
You're kidding right? Go find me someone that matches this: Andrew 'Bunji' McLeod DOB: August 4, 1976 Recruited from Darwin Buffaloes/Port Adelaide (SANFL) AFL debut: round six, 1995 AFL career games: 340 (club games record holder) AFL career goals: 275 Two-time AFL premiership player: 1997, 1998. Three time club champion: 1997, 2001, 2007 Runner-up club champion 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006. Five-time All Australian: 1998, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2007 (captain) Two-time Norm Smith Medallist: 1997, 1998 Member of Indigenous Team of the Century 2001 Brownlow Medal runner-up International Rules series 2001, 2002, 2005 (co-captain) AFL Players Association MVP: 2001 AFL pre-season premiership player: 2003 Michael Tuck Medal 2003

Saw a bayside blue R34 GTT 4 door at Marion yesterday parked next to a R33 GTST that looked like Krishy's car - except cleaner and with no damage Spotted a cute red head driving a dark R33 GTST on Sturt Rd ~4:15pm heading towards Marion.

I'll tag along just to annoy y'all.
