  1. While being shaped for blowing my download limit.
  2. This chart my answer some questions. BTW there are 3 slightly different versions of R34 N1 turbos.
  3. Just spoke with the crash repairer and the insurance company have approved the repairs albeit with second hand parts but I should expect to get the car back for another 3 months. They've already had it for 2 months.
  4. Not on its own but when you add in this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fi...01#entry3697101 "After the big end bearing let go on my 1989 R32 GTR on May 12 2007 on the SAU 'haunted' cruise I can finally collect my car tomorrow. This has been a long and drawn out saga that has cost ridiculous amounts of money. The short version for those who don't know: * Did my first ever 7000rpm launch in the car and spun the big end bearing on a Friday night SAU cruise back in May last year. * Within a week the car is at Willall Racing in the capable hands of Peter Hall. * Peter and I discuss the rebuild, decide which mods I'll get and he gives me a quote. * The work begins and the engine is stripped while I source parts from Japan. * Unexpectedly and with no explanation given (to me) Peter Hall leaves Willall and I'm left with an engine in pieces. * I approach Steve Cramp from Manta Racing to complete the rebuild but don't obtain a quote. * Steve struggles to find all the pieces of the engine and 4 trips are made to Willall to look for stuff sometimes spending hours looking for bits and pieces. * The $ have more than doubled my original quote. * Finally by October the car is back at Willall for Martin Donnan to tune after I have completed 500+km breaking in the new engine. * The brand new PFC fails and on Martin's and Steve's advice I send it back to Nengun for repair under warranty. * 3 months later Nengun inform me that there was nothing wrong with the PFC and I have to pay to get it sent back. Add other $235 and another month to the total. * Finally I get the PFC back 2 weeks ago and leave the car and the remaining mods with Steve last week while I go to Fiji for a mate's wedding. * I get back today and read an email that Manta wants another $1230 but the car is ready to be collected although now the HKS EVC boost controller no longer holds constant boost so they have re-plumbed the system and have it running at 17psi. I have never had any problems with the HKS EVC before." + the coilovers seized on a SAU cruise the day I had my new brakes fitted. Months off the road. + the one of the turbos blew after I picked up my car from a mate who borrowed it after he drove me to hospital due to a head clash playing indoor soccer. Months off the road (and a new scar on my head) + the aforementioned blown engine occurred a mere 10 days after the new turbos were fitted... and it was my FIRST EVER proper GTR launch. Nearly a year off the road. + the car cost over $6,000 more than I was quote by Prestigemotorsport when I originally bought it back in 2004. F**k knows. I'm waiting on a call from the crash repairer as we speak. Nothing has been done yet - this crash occurred back on June 20.
  5. 1am, wet Lobethal Road, understeer, guard rail...
  6. Slower than when I had Internode.
  7. Bees are the unsung heros of this planet. Totally underappreciated. If all bees died the planet would die. Rednecks on the other hand...
  8. I actually have both these items sitting in a spare room. The EBC Green Stuff brake pads have done stuff all kms - I could probably give you an exact figure if I dug up the receipts. The R34 GTR rims are MINT - I think you've seen them. I may consider selling them soon (the rims that is). If you want the brake pads let me know.
  9. writeoff3 - had been playing COD4 which I borrowed off a mate but now only have GTA4 & Grid
  10. How come I can't edit my original post? To continue: I realise that I've writen Hypertune intake manifold & plenum. They're the same thing. I only need one. I meant to write Tomei Expreme exhaust manifold. Mines Silence-VX Pro - Titan II exhaust. AP Braking 6 pot brake kit for the front & 4 pot for the rear. Holinger 6 speed sequential gearbox. NISMO racing bearings. JUN oil pump (to replace the N1) Of course if I was to completely rebiuld the engine (again) then I'd start with an R34 N1 block & .... I could go on forever.
  11. For my 348.5rwkW r32 GTR: Complete respray in Lamborghini Orange. Buy another Recaro for the passenger seat to match the driver's seat. Completely retrim the interior with black leather and orange double stitching with GTR logo in seats. Replace plastic dash with carbon fibre dash. Remove R32 GTR rear wing and replace with R34 GTR rear wing with NISMO carbon fibre adjustable flap. Ganador carbon mirrors with blue lenses. N1 carbon fibre bonnet lip. Hypertune intake manifold. Hypertune plenum. Hypertune single throttle body. NISMO shadow front indicators. Get the entire engine bay polished and rewired to look like a show car. GReddy carbon fibre front air deflector. New stereo but haven't chosen it yet. Front and rear carbon fibre diffusers.
  12. Thanks for your replies guys. I am taking all of your opinions on board. To answer some of your questions: From the PM I received: "All the tyres are sitting in tight 8ft+ stacks & the guys literally won't pull the stacks apart 'til they are ready to ship because they basically don't have the room to constantly break stacks down & the stock can get mixed up pretty easily which becomes a real headache real fast." So the answer I got from the same question you asked is no, hence my OP. I have spent a silly amount of $ on the GTR over the past 2 years and am struggling to find room in the budget to spend more. Not working atm, have a mortgage, & have bald tyres that are already dangerous in the rain. A set a second hand tyres for the price of 1 new tyre of decent brand & quality seemed a reasonable stop gap solution. Nothing I intend to do permanently but $220 a week from uncle Kevin isn't much to pay a mortgage, run a house, run a French car that breaks a lot & run a GTR that breaks even more often. Saving up the $2000+ for new tyres would take longer than a few weeks. The price for a complete set delivered to my door is $540 - about the same price as one tyre of the brands and models that I've listed . The new Falken FK452 in 245/45/17s you mention won't stretch over my 18"x10" BBS rims, but you make a good point about the unlikelihood of 4 quality matching tyres in good condition. Mine work out at $110 + $25 delivery per tyre. They won't be for track days and are not a permanent solution but I hope would be better than the bald tyres I have atm. $135 per corner seems a reasonable short term solution. My difficulty is that I don't know what I'm getting and giving someone $540 on the basis of "they [the supplier] don't want to bring in stock they can't sell (the boss literally flies over to inspect & load each shipment himself) nor do they want to sell stock to people who aren't happy & won't come back. Having said that there is still some good 275/18's to choose from so when the time comes I should still be able to get you something decent & good value-for-money." This is why I stated in the OP a requirement of a speed rating of either Y, VR or ZR as it seemed the easiest way to ensure a decent tyre to begin with. As for condition... that's the risk.
  13. Hi All, From this group buy - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ha...es-t221459.html - I'm getting a set of 275/35/18 for my R32 GTR which runs 18"x10" BBS LM rims. I'm in a difficult position of having to commit $ without even knowing what I'm getting. I have to put trust in someone I've only had 1 phone conversation with. The only info I have been given is that the tyres will either be Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, BFG, Continental etc, around 70% tread & probably around 2yrs old. Ultimately I'm strapped for cash atm which is why I'm buying 2nd hand tyres rather than brand new. So I'll commit but will state these preferences. I want tyres with a speed rating of either Y, VR or ZR (I have a 350rwkW GTR after all) My tyre preferences are: 1. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 3. Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Pirelli P Zero Corsa System (although I don't know if these are made in 275/35/18) 5. Continental ContiSport Contact 2, 2 VMAX or 3 6. Federal 595RS-R (I know these are track tyres) 7. Bridgestone RE050A 8. Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001 (which is Speed rated at W) 9. BFGoodrich g-Force Profiler I don't know heaps about tyres but have read through the sticky at the top of this page to get an idea. Have I got these preferences about right or have I overlooked a tyre? Cheers David aka writeoff
  14. It was a poor launch and the Stig went wide on the first corner. Bloody fast lap otherwise. I think it could have knocked the Atom off and climbed up to 6th place over all. Now bring on the V-Spec!
  15. Remember her this way.
  16. A couple of my old car (now owned by Dohmar) that I always liked.
  17. For your enjoyment. Matt - I have some nice pics of your car already
  18. I just met Matt - the new owner - tonight as he saw my mate cleaning his R33 GTR in the driveway. I couldn't believe it when he said he'd just bought SNIPER. I was only thinking earlier today that I should call Shane & Christine about some mods I'm thinking about. Matt said that Christine was literally talking to the car and was devastated about selling it.
  19. My favourite photo.
  20. Unlikely. For I am a Stiglet... and I'm older than you
  21. I spotted a white R34 GTT today in a shopping centre car park with the plates HRTBRKR. Only just realised what they meant when I typed it out (Heart Breaker).

    Msn

Nuff said? Then why did you repeat yourself?
  23. So can you drive around now without the exhaust scraping? The sparks did look good at night but the white marks it made on the road during the daylight hours probably weren't so good... for the car or the road.
  24. Damn Shane. Sorry to hear about your car dude. I hope it all works out for you. If you ever feel like boosting give me a call.
  25. Neither of our cars were damaged or anything of ours stolen. We actually thought the weather had set the alarms off. It wasn't until I was waiting to checkout the next morning that I heard that someone else had a lot of stuff taken from their car but I don't know the details. We took 3 crab nets and about 4 fishing rods but only managed about 4 hours of fishing due to the weather and Jake & my slackness to get up early. We caught 6 blue crabs, about 20-25 undersized sand crabs (which we threw back) & 1 undersized red mullet (which I threw back but didn't look like s/he survived us trying to figure out what kind of fish it was and what the legal size was). Not all that successful but it was fun... and cold.
