Mary X-Moose peoples. And welcome back Andy - haven't seen you here for ages! What are you driving these days? Do you miss the R34 GTR at all?
-
I thought the film clip was ok and the track had potential but didn't take me anywhere after 6 mins so I stopped before it finished. I wouldn't consider that real dark. Listen to some British Murder Boys (Surgeon & Regis) for true dark tech. Perhaps I should have waited until the end. I liked the start but it didn't go anywhere else after that. Could be ok for 1-2 minutes within a mix.

Spotted a guy in a white R34 GTT around 8:30am on Pimpala Rd heading away from Junk Food Junction. Gave a wave got a glare cheer up buttercup, Christmas is only 2 days away! Or have you heard a rumour that you're on Santa's 'naughty' list?

I am accepting all donations for a major brake upgrade. Hint, hint Santa...

Well today - 18 months and 2 days after my crash - I finally collected my car, had it checked out, and it is fixed... properly this time! Again I took the car to Manta Racing for Steve to examine the work of the 2nd crash repairer. The report came back positive with only 1 minor fault. Otherwise he said the 2nd crash repairer did a good job. Finally I have my car back! Of course next year I have to fight with the insurance company and 1st crash repairer to recover some of the thousands of $ I have spent getting reports and repairs done. This may still end up in court so I will only name the initial repairer via PM. But at least I have my car back. Hu-f**kin-ray!!!!

RIP little Twitch. He looks very cute in that photo. Always devastating to lose a family pet. I hope it doesn't damper your Christmas celebrations. If (and when) you feel like getting another rabbit friend and (adopted) brother for Toff we a have a several cute 'uns at the RSPCA in Adelaide (where I have volunteered for over a year). I'm sure there would be some in Melbourne.

Nice power James! That will keep you busy. What turbos are you running again? PS - A smaller file would have sufficed.

Is this a marketing term for first service?

Spotted a blond female driving a red R34 GTT heading west on Kenihans Rd, Happy Valley about 7:20pm last night. I thought it was Christine (PUREZED) for a sec but only just got a glimpse of her.

I'll follow your progress Nigel but won't commit until my current catch can has been inspected as it is currently leaking and spraying oil in the engine bay. If the current can is determined unfixable/useless then I'd be interested to see what you and your mate can fabricate and how successful it is under track conditions. As I said I'll follow with interest.

Congrats Tangles. I hope it gives you many years of fun filled, smile inducing motoring without any mechanical problems. Pity the bike has to go but if you can't ride it no use just having it sitting there.

Took Some Shots Of The #qm1 V-spec Ii Nur
writeoff replied to DarkChild's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
What does the #qm1 refer to? I love the carbon fibre mirrors, side skirts and side inserts on the rear wing. The rear pods look to be a different type of cf is that just the light/angle of photography? Are the rear wing mounts and blade cf as well? And what is that open top gorgeous monster in the back ground? It looks like it has it's roof up in photo 6. -
Oh. I've heard about those types of cars. Apparently they can be fun. Did they come in black? Anyone know a place to get a car properly cleaned that has been sitting in the elements for too long and needs some real TLC? I was looking at the place on Unley Rd and just checked out their website. Seems fairly pricey. Anyone used them and were they happy with the results?

What type of car are you considering Vu?
-
To buy a new ADM R35 GTR you are looking more at $170k+ rather than $140k. I assume that you want an ADM car for the warranty if you have no intention of modifying it. The wise advice, given that you won't get to drive a new sports car very often and will rarely track it - if at all - is to not buy one. As Snowman said public roads will not bring out the best in a GTR. But wisdom is for those older than 28. It sounds like you would be better off in a 'fun' car rather than a balls out, purpose built 'fast' car. Maybe cars like the 370z, BMW 135i coupe or even the upcoming VW Golf R (4WD, 190kW) would be better suited to your needs. Less initial outlay, less $ lost in depreciation, lower insurance and more likely to deliver smiles on a public road whilst having the ability to tear up a track on the rare occasion that you get to one. The best advice I can offer is the same advice I give to anyone considering a new car. Take the time to go and test drive several different cars that you are considering. Start with the R35 GTR.

Yes please Martin. Just put up the actual dynocharts to make it easier for all.

Happy Birthday Mitch! Have a great day.

Hopefully it all goes through Vu. Did your ad state 'First to see will buy'?

I'd hate to think what the drink prices will be - $8-10 pints (it looks like they have at least 4 beers on tap maybe double that if they're not repeated), cocktails will be $20+ and they will probably charge (what I consider a massive scam) $7-8 base spirit & $3-4 for the mixer (and then not give you the remaining mixer in the bottle - classic case of double dipping). The truth is that to go out in Adelaide these days and get a little drunk - not paro, not swaying but happy and 'socially lubed' (above .05) - costs way too much. Especially if you throw in dinner first, a dirty yiros at the end of the night and at least one cab fair ($45 to my house). I've dropped $200 on a night and gone home sober. The place does look good in the photos and it is good that Adelaide has another venue to go to but a group of guys going in without any ladies or names to drop will probably get rejected unless they are displaying some serious wealth.

Demonoid is back! And well done Damo ^^^.

What's happening is what I posted - the HICAS light comes on and off, and at the same time the car switches between 4WD & RWD. I can see the car is in RWD by the torque gauge not moving but the rear end starts slipping. I imagine that it has something to do with the G sensor which was most likely damaged in the accident - way back in June 2008. Yes the oil catch can has an oil return hose to the back of the head (I don't know what the welch plug is). I won't be driving the GTR anywhere yet because i) I have a flat battery ii) I'm squirting oil all over the engine bay (and I was driving very sedately Luke) & iii) 335rwkW that switches at will between 4WD & RWD is not very confidence inspiring. I'm am mega pissed off so apologies if this comes across. It is not aimed at anyone on SAU.

Well I finally picked up my car... but it still has issues. They gave it back to me with a flat battery (had to be jump started from the crash repairers) after I told them at least 5 times when speaking to them during the first week to disconnect the positive battery terminal as it would go flat in less than a week. The oil catch can is still squirting oil all over the engine bay and now the HICAS light goes on and off like someone tapping morse code - and with it the car switches from 4WD to RWD and back again. Sometimes I took off in 1st in RWD, changed to 2nd and had 4WD and then was back in RWD before changing to third. I am sooooo sick of this saga!

I just wanted to see if I had a SA Club Member bar. Edit: Yay! I do.

Great vid! It was interesting to see his hand positioning around the steering wheel, especially when he needed to change gears mid corner. Would love a translation of when he passed the R8 with its hazard lights on. Probably started with "get off the racing line you ..."

I'm keen to do both months. Are we going forward with two dates?
