  1. Beating a dead horse here a little, but if you were losing boost on gear changes with a .63 reared gt35 something was seriously wrong!
  2. Your comparing a gt35 choked by a .63 housing with a t04z? That argument has been done to death over the last 25 pages But by your logic you should be using a gt35 then I would like to repeat the comparison once it's up and going, I think the results will be a little different to what you saw comparing your plots with Pauls. I'm not aiming for 650rwhp or 450rwhp - the 35r is the middle ground.
  3. It's nice to see you guys have welded the gate pipe tangential to the exh housing, most people seem to weld it on at right angles which can't be doing them any favours!
  4. To save other people the fun of searching for housings I've found the following (t4 1.06ar twin scroll exh housing to suit gt35). full race 395us + 169us shipping atp 395us + ? shipping gcg ~ 800au + shipping no stock till Jan 2010 On the BW vs Garrett debate, I've had a good read of supra/evo forums in the US, in particular comparisons by geoff from full race and come to the conclusion that the bw in almost all cases match the performance of equivalent sized garretts and where there is an advantage, it's very small. So it appears the main reason for there popularity is the low cost. Given I've already got the Garrett core I'll stick with it for now, but in the event I were to start again I think I'd seriously consider the bw. Simon, Nytsky is already talking about ditching the 3076 for something larger. I'm not in the least part unhappy with the performance of the gt35 (the mani is another story) and if the twin scroll combo can bring it on a little earlier all the better. You've got an excel plot of my power curve, if you can find a 3076 curve which delivers better average power betwen 5 and 8k I'll consider it This is the first time I've heard you say something even remotely positive about your 3076! If you really think this then I expect to see the 3076 on your gtr and a t04z in the for sale section
  5. Thanks gents, will check in with ATP. GCG informed me Garrett won't have stock till Jan next year.
  6. That was going to be my next question, full race are the only ones I've found so far - and at 6-700 delivered (exh housing only) it's looking like buying a whole new turbo will end up cheaper.
  7. Reviving this one once again. Looking for some opinions on the following, given the choice of a 3582 1.06 twin scroll or the equivalent sized borg warner s300sx (83/75 I think) both on a proper twin scroll t4 flanged manifold - which would be the more responsive while aiming for ~500rwhp.
  8. Yes directly before the sale and then once running when I was experiencing problems. I'd rather not get this thread shut down so I'll leave it at that.
  9. The difference is simply average power. If you were able to gear the car for the peaky powerband you would see a big change in ts.
  10. I still don't see how you say someone is a fool for buying a manifold that 99% of people recommend. Are you calling yourself a fool given you had the same problems??
  11. I'd be blaming the guy making the manifold not the end customer! The manifolds in question come from the most popular manifold makers in Aus....
  12. I was making a suggestion to the OP which you clearly misunderstood in your haste to rubbish anything relating to wheels not marketed by Rays/BBS etc. I don't recall making any comments for/against the wheels in question so your criticisms are wasted.
  13. If you head to a super sedan or super street meet you'l find that anything in the 10.5 to 11.0 bracket is running under 130mph. Your numbers are in the range for street cars though.
  14. Seeing as though the wheels cost stuff all, some destructive testing will tell you everything you need to know. If the chinese have figured out the casting process and metallurgy (after all these years you'd hope so) there's a good change they're getting it close to right.
  15. I have one wheel with a small radial runout, I'm unsure if its worth risking repair on lightweight forged wheels so I thought I'd ask the question here. Have you used wheels with a small radial runout (specify how much) and was it noticeable on the car? This would be more aimed at the track guys as these wheels will be run with r-comps and obviously the vibration will be worse at track speeds. Thanks
  16. LOL Adrian did extremely well with his car, and I would say is an exception to the norm. Never the less, he was not making 300rwkw, was not running 10's and (according to his webpage) despite making more power now is yet to do so. Not having been done before doesn't make it impossible - but it does mean for a regular street driven skyline having the odd run at the track its very f*cking unlikely! I haven't resorted to name calling yet But with comments like this it would be warranted.
  17. I find it hard to keep a straight face responding to your posts any more. Are you taking the piss? At what point did I say anything about 260rwkw cars?
  18. Don't make yourself look like a fool (again).
  19. Can you elaborate on the creep issues you were having with the tial?
  20. Sounds pretty mental! Assuming your just bringing it up on the stall in that vid hence the gentle launch?
  21. Bought mine direct from vio... pretty easy to deal with and received the next day (was in the US at the time). edit: 600 or 650 for the moto kit with bits to hardwire to battery
  22. I hope your not designing powertrains! You have failed to address the basic things I have commented on (physics if you will). Here is a handy link, you may learn a thing or two - pay particular note to the force at the wheels calculations. http://craig.backfire.ca/pages/autos/horsepower
