  1. In that case save the effort of tapping the head and send the sump breather straight to the top of the catch can along with the cam cover breathers. Has anyone cosidered using a vacuum pump in the absence of the std pcv set-up?
  2. cdi will run standard coils no problems.
  3. Ok dug these up. A mate took these after picking them up for me - the writing on the pics is so I'd pick the differences seeing as I couldnt check them out in person (o/s). Pretty good copies hey!
  4. A mate recently bought some bride seats on my behalf which were later returned when we suspected they might be fake. Luckily he had his own new genuine bride to compare against... in the end we couldnt be 100% sure they were fakes but putting it next to the known genuine seat (which had made in jp tags etc) there were enough differences to make us want to return them. The quality just wasn't quite right, the material didnt look as hard wearing & appeared shiny in the pic's, some dodgy stitching etc... We took dozens of pics comparing the real and suspected fake differences - will try to dig them up if anyone is interested.
  5. Its a little presumptuous to assume just because a car runs lower power in a comp than expected that the tuner/workshop is inflating figures don't you think?
  6. ^^that discussion was done to death (in a thread started by tomek I think?) Maybe he should read that again as pretty much every z user was in there commenting on the exact things he's asking again.
  7. I keep forgetting I haven't logged onto www.vipec.com.au.
  8. I had one of those adove, oil turns to a fuel smelling mess rather quickly.
  9. Well a touareg I'd consider as a daily.... I'm guessing the petrol v6 is a no go and it has to be the one the turbo diesel variants?
  10. Reading this thread I lose any hope of the tow car and daily being the same car Where do you guys store all these cars? Assuming two dailies (you + missus), track car, trailer, tow car....
  11. The spigot is solely for alignment, not having it there will make no diffference to the shear load on the studs. Just make sure theyre tightened properly, lose nuts will result in broken studs.
  12. You might need to specify aus spec or import as the rear ends are completely different. Custom axles aren't cheap, and z31 stuff is getting increasingly hard to come by. Yes its true that you can 'use' a 33 rear subframe, but its certainly not worth the significant expense imo. Jump on the r31 forum there are plenty of guys drifting aus spec 31s there with detailed build threads you can get all your info from. Judging by the list of mods your looking at you may find an s13 or race only s14/r32 will be cheaper and have more potential given the aftermarket support. btw a dog box on its own is worth more than everything else in your list put together including the car.
  13. Really? Based purely on customer service I wouldnt consider using 6boost again. Shame really as the manifold is great. I later recommended etm as an alternative to a friend who was stoked with both the service and product.
  14. A large part of the 1990 atcc was raced (and won) in the hr31 wasn't it - I also recall a quote by Jim saying the cars were exceptionally reliable? In any case, at the time everything in the world was being left behind by the Sierra's so the old rwd hr31's did ok to get the wins they did btw 8min 48sec
  15. Come on, just because someone finds the gtr isn't as quick as a Porsche worth significantly more its instantly biased? It's not uncommon for mags to compare cars with wildly different price but similar performance, makes for great reading - btw normally its owners of the more expensive car that get upset! (hmm it seems the magazine might have burst your 'the gtr is the fastest/best handling car money car buy' bubble)
  16. Will have to get out to see it run if it actually is in norway this year..?

I heard the car drove itself. Who's Quinn again?
  19. Save the lectures guys, you were all 18 once. If you claim not to have had a race or two at that age your telling fibs!
  20. Pull your head in mate, you've made your point. He's already pointed out thats the widest he can go without the tyres rubbing - and afaik the wheels came with the car, perhaps we should pass on the original owners details so you can send him an email preaching your opinions on tyre fitment? Btw if you think that's stretched you've got your head in the sand.
  21. Also stripped and thoroughly cleaned mine without any problems.
  22. All the details are on the preceeding pages. I even have a video of its one pass down the strip but the quality is so shite you can't see the time board. Unfortunately all my stuff including the car is in storage or I would have scanned the time slip - but no doubt you would have claimed BS on that as well As people will keep telling you, its all in the set-up and you obviously have some issues (or have taken shortcuts) with yours. No probs, for a while I thought I was the only one here - design engineer/fea monkey that is.
  23. Come on, you think I havent been in a t04z equipped car?? LOL at e-modder, my car was built in the garage at home - if you want to reduce the discussion to childish insults I'l leave you to it.
