  1. Any of the merge collector manifolds are a good bet, just make sure the scavenge for the wg is on a reasonable angle (ie not perpendicular) and a decent size.
  2. Bugger this thread could have been interesting - cheers ash and co
  3. I looked into aeromotive pumps a while ago and found quite a few pump failures that seemed to stem from people not runninng a pump controller/or fuel cooler. Plenty of info on the supraforums. The local guys I've spoken to love them. Other option is magnafuel, pump and motor aren't integrated like other pumps so theyre rebuildable... but you pay for it. The only real advantage I found to running a single aeromotive/magnafuel was the reduced current draw over twin 044's...
  4. yep they are the axles i was referring to. cheers
  5. electronic drawing board essentially Would anyone like to share pick-up designs, in particular the external?
  6. Whats peoples experience with Torsion axles? Im looking into building my own car trailer as part of a final year uni project. So far the requirements are a 3.8x2m bed and a maximum load capacity of 1400 kg to carry my own track car (1200 kg supra) and possibly my mates track cars. I've previously been hiring trailers which have weighed around 1 tonne which although the tow car (saab 9000) has towed it without dramas, the aim is to try make this purpose built trailer as light as possible, hopefully around the 4-500 kg range. As such i was looking into single axle trailers but since reading this thread, would seem like a mistake.
  7. r31house, I believe made by jic. Could buy another r31 for what they charge though.
  8. The outer of a 9.5 +12 and 10 +18 will sit in the same place... just 12mm more clearance on the inside. Interesting pending weigh in pete btw sell me those panasports
  9. Not sure now, but before the $ crash new ssr professors were under 3k brand new (18*9 and 18*10), the three piece volks were about 3300 delivered and more again for the te37's etc. If its a gtt I dont think you can run the offset needed to make 3piece wheels look good... have a look at xd9's etc
  10. yeh that's the one, before the bodywork - have oversize billet stub axles and companion flanges in there now.
  11. oil/boost press water/oil temp I wouldnt do without my wideband afr but as above - an engine can knock even when running rich so its not foolproof.
  12. www.precisionshims.com.au about $190 for full set of rb26 in any size u need
  13. One of mine
  14. What affect does ray hall no longer being a distributor have on the quality of the computer? The constant pushing of vipec is getting tiring - provide some facts or give it a rest. If its as good as you say it shouldn't need so much 'talking up'.
  15. If your catch can runs dry there's no need for the return to the sump then is there?... For a street car with 5k service intervals this is a bad idea - if your racing the car and doing regular changes (ie after every track day) then its not a problem. I find my catch can runs bone dry when drag racing and cruising around on the street but as soon as a corner is thrown in the can fills up. Apparently the mines baffles will help but otherwise I'l have to run a drain for track days etc.
  16. I made just under 400rwhp at jem with stock injectors and a nismo reg. I understand what your saying with doing things in little steps, but your going to be doubling up on tuning costs every time. Spend the 1k on cams and few hundred on gears straight off the bat. Cams WILL make a huge difference to the gt35, its pretty lazy without them.
  17. These are the mines baffles I have in some spare covers ready to go in. Thanks for the tip re the cam cap studs dirt - will make sure I check that out before bolting the covers down.
  18. Something to consider is the oil from your catch can will foul up the oil in the sump. I'd only do it on the track and even then only if your pushing litres of oil into the can (enough to drop the level in the sump).
  19. Nice work Regan - impressive results.
  20. 5years after the wrx crowd have gotten over the excitement of rotational idle and antilag you guys catch on haha. It might sound cool the fist few times but it gets old pretty quickly. Just watch those egt's.
  21. Your better off holding out untill the thing is properly tuned before making any judgements. We did a similar thing with mine just to get it running and out of the workshop and the difference is day and night. I would recommend straight fit cams before the final tune to really wake it up. btw I'd agree with cerbera, around 400hp at 1bar is about right.
  22. I've only used os giken but even new the plates wouldnt have been more than 4odd mm thick overall. I was told they are usable down to 2.5mm. Pic of a plate from my old twin and a pic (borrowed from rhd) of a new one. Not much there.
  23. After wiring in my ecu and getting the car running my tuner told me to piss of and install some cams before doing the final tune - he essentially said the 35r is very lazy in the mid-range and needs some drop in cams to wake it up. Basically I'd regret tuning it without the cams...
  24. I find it interesting that how exciting the different turbo's are keeps coming up - having been in gtr's with equivalent sized twins the delivery is far more linear - (I'l try not to call a 450rwhp car boring). Then again the linear power delivery is no doubt what makes cars equipped with them so quick around the circuit. The 35r is certainly angrier in its delivery, and the t04z moreso again - I guess most of you guys have 4wd so thats not an issue! I wont be around till later in the year Jimmah should be there though? Pretty sure he's making a fair bit more than me with his 35r and in a drifter I'm thinking it'd be an interesting ride. I believe with traction it'd be a 130mph+ machine given sean reckons it has very similar top end to his rig.
  25. sorry, was meant to quote t04gtr's post further down the page - not yours
