  1. But valves open, no compression... piston speed at its lowest not to mention we consider 270deg dur as aggressive like adriano points out be very interested if people have had problems at this level?
  2. seem unusual then that there are quite a number of rb's running aggressive cam profiles and autronic cdi (4ch) without any issues...
  3. like brokas says rego as 2seater and no problems, just seal the boot.
  4. easy to eliminate, remove hoses from breathers - if it still happens then you've at least ruled that out but i doubt thats your problem. i would perform leak down also
  5. stirling stainless
  6. nice looking exh....are you running cats? (i found one cat was enough in addition to a shitty cannon to get my 26 quiet enough to go over the pits) otherwise some chambered mufflers somewhere in the middle will do the job. sir racer; I had the same issue and ended up going with a custom made 4" muffler.... couldnt find a 3.5" anywhere (3.5" thin wall stainless is not an easy thing to find either - i ended up paying double for a 3.5" bend what i coudl get a 3" one for, sort off explains the lack of local 3.5" mufflers also)- cheaper in the end to go 4" if there was the room
  7. hmm went 35r over a t04z because I didnt want a silly amount of lag (even though 90% of people seem to be going the t04z route) and you guys are saying even thats too big for a 26? roy, I did plenty of looking and found most guys with a 35r on a 26 were making 375-390rwkw on 21psi (on song by 41-4200rpm) - with the higher numbers coming with poncams and larger exhausts (3.5") and the lower end with stock cams and the usual 3" system. If we can make those numbers with a smaller turbo im all ears
  8. had excellent service from both greenline and perfectrun, were even prepared to hunt down obscure parts like fuel rail spacers.. not so good locally
  9. depends what sump you have, stock gtr sump wont but if your running an rb rwd sump (assuming the car isnt a gtr) then there is every chance no matter how much oil you stick in there it is going to surge.. mine was the same
  10. Chasing a 32 gtr alternator, 4groove pulley... pm or [email protected] Thanks, Nick
  11. hey mate Ive got a modified rb20 sump on my 26 (well one of the rwd sumps). It has been bashed out to clear the rb26 oil pickup but is otherwise standard. It surges HARD on acceleration (300rwkw) and not so badly under brakes, even with 0.5L overfill. Having looked at hi-energy I decided against going down that road. Only other solution I could find was to modify a GTR sump to fit... it was a pain getting a complete sump (couldnt find a stock baffle so stuck with a tomei baffle) and currently a mate is doing the required mods plus winging it to increase capacity and hopefully help combat surge Basically your best and prob simplest option is to use a modded GTR sump. Attached is the last one the guys did.
  12. are you referring to weld on dash fittings or just hose clamp. dash 10 or 12 will do
  13. thanks kermit, did a great job on my 3.5" exh - would highly recommend to others cheers
  14. only seems interested in working with haltec's, I would find someone else for other ecu's
  15. How straightforward was modding your gtr sump? And could they do another identical to yours...
  16. Looking for a few peoples thoughts, I have a 26 in a 31 (bought car with motor fitted) -sump is definantly not a modded gtr, looks like a 20/25 sump. Obviously the std gtr sump is good enough for most people but what would be better from my point of view.. exchange mine for a high energy OR buy a gtr sump + modify + add tomei baffles. I think cost would work out roughly the same in the end. At the moment it surges badly, with a full sump it will lose pressure when accelerating (but not when braking, cornering). Overfill by 1litre helps but not completely, will still flicker down before picking up pressure again. Thanks.
  17. Have run link plus, was a nightmare -driveability, tuning, fuel consumption all terrible. Spent countless hours on the dyno but couldnt fix niggling problems like starting (hot or cold), nasty hesitation coming onto throttle etc. I initially chose due to the impressive feature list Currently using PowerFC, besides the handcontroller being a pain in the arse to read in anything but perfect light its has performed well, cheap to tune (with plenty of options when it comes to tuners as well). Definantly better featured ecu's around in terms of features (launch control etc) but its hard to beat thanks to price and ease of use. Personal experience with the ems on mates car is its a very good thing, driveability, fuel consumption cold and hot start all on par with the pfc in my car. Unfortunately some outputs on the ecu arent functional as claimed in the specs (8860) although ems assure they will shortly be available with a software update (which the ecu needs to be sent to ems for). Autronic gets the vote
  18. "I have lost my license all up for 21 months in total" "I just got my license back 2 months ago too... after losing for 18 months" "I just got my license disqualified last thursday for 12 months" "Only lost my license once, for speeding previously, for 6 months" is it just me or things not adding up?? u care to break down all your losses of lic and for what reason??
  19. sorry to hijack but also need a slave cyl. pm if you can help pls
  20. Three piece, yep haha I even have said spacers
  21. coppers with the correct heat range and gap will perform just as well as the expensive stuff, just change them regularly
  22. can take my 18" volks as last resort but may need some spacers to fill them guards (paint em black while your at it
