  1. i have the one pictured above on the 4dr hr31 gts, if your interested pm
  2. read the posts dude, 411 on dd, the 511 was on a hub dyno hence the high reading very interesting thread
  3. might have something to test by then, no pre booking just rock up and run?
  4. yeah i drove bout 30k's with a blown turbo, found the exh wheel in the cat when i took of the dump pipe. You feel like a tool blowing so much white smoke tho
  5. i have an internal gate 10cm^2 td06 exh housing, similar design to that, just get the round section blocking the wastegate removed. You can see a small butt of weld where it can be removed... It seems as tho you would not be able to have a collector style dump pipe on it seeing as there is no stud nor flat face for a gasket to seal on. I'd suggest a split dump, using the existing dump pipe and have a pipe welded to the housing behind the w/gate which you can merge with the main exh further along the system (and block the section which joins the two). That or leave it as is, but its a restrictive looking setup
  6. Try some nitto's and a slightly kinder launch technique and you should be able to avoid those kind of sudden loading breakages...btw saw the car at the plex, looks mint. With s/o mode i'd be inclined to say the dyno is the more accurate measure of power, whereas the track would show which car is actually faster (and quicker)-
  7. there are hr31 gts 4doors too:) The HR is pretty weak to start with...takes a bit of work to make it as fun to drive as the dr but much prefer the rb over the fj personally, but would take a good dr30 over the hr31. Answer, none of the above.
  8. stainless cone reducers are under $20, air velocity is too great for the air to heat up going over the radiator
  9. Damn i have the dented sump as well, have had the oil press light come on once under brakes so better sort that one out when its running again. Might replace the oil pump too. So if i have this right with good tuning an rb20 will live happily at 240odd rwkw, with maybe the exception of adding some forgies. Any other things to pay attention too?
  10. could be turbo, but normally takes a few minutes for the turbo to warm up and burn the oil. if its oil regardless of colour on a still day itll hang in the air, vapour pretty much disappears straight away.
  11. very nice, 240z's are getting bloody rare! just be patient with mayhem, he normally gets back to you eventually
  12. yeah cause a small turbo would give you HEAPS of torque at 1200rpm and hence you could cruise over speed bumps and not stall...awesome! lol
  13. rb20-calais, can you upgrade the wolf to have 6 ign drivers? if not then you may need to look for a some form of ignition amplifier (lotsa $$) other ecu's have the req'd no of drivers so i cant see why you wouldnt be able to upgrade yours tho.
  14. congratulations, shittest thread ever..if i want to see a pissing contest ill go to the pub
  15. anyone? im in the same situation
  16. if its thrown the exh wheel of the turbo it wont smoke hard from a cold start untill the exh gets a bit warm and the oil starts burning in the exh housing and exh(couple of minutes). Happened on mine, spat the exh wheel out, no real smoke till it warmed up a bit and then massive plumes of white smoke out the exh under throttle im assuming if its rings it'll smoke whenever theres pressure in the cylinder/s regardless of engine temp
  17. a mate is running about 12psi through his stock saab t3 and only making around 150hp at the wheels (untuned)...this is on a 450000km old saab tho.
  18. yeah they showed a map of the area, definantly melbourne today tonight tried to pass it of as there own work wankers.
  19. if you still need the na 33 wheels i know of some which just came of a car and may be for sale
  20. if the turbo has a t3 flange then yes, however the std ej20 manifold requires a vastly different flange to a t3 so not likely unless the manifold has been modified to suit the turbo rather than the other way round. (ej20 manifold/turbo flange is a round port and 3bolt fastening)
  21. i have the vapour coming out of my catch can too, have seen this on a no. of other cars with atmo breathing cans at idle as well so havent been overly concerned. over 4000k's of driving the can was lined with oily sludge but only a couple drops of oil came out when tipped up. maybe sk can comment on the vapour at idle issue
  22. sounds like valve stem seal, have seen this happen on a freshly built motor recently
  23. pay a tow truck, would be 50max unless you want to tow to mandurah if you need the no. of a good towie (who wont **** your car up like some) let me know, i have been forced to use them regularly lately
  24. yes the early td06's appear to have rather nasty looking comp wheels as well (diesel style comp wheels) rather than the later 20g, 25g's etc which seem to have comp wheels which are very similat to gt garret wheels
  25. would be easier with a gtr resistor pack, rather than trying to find resistors which suit the application, your idea would work tho if not for being more difficult
