  1. my car had a quiet whistle when cold which disappeared when warm. after a while the whiste wouldnt go away when warm and would be more of a muffled scream when cold, eventually the exh wheel of the turbo blew out the exh along with lotsa smoke... how much boost you running?
  2. im maxing out my afm at 190rwkw... but only took high flow turbs, safc, cooler, filter and exh to do it. whats the 2530 worth bbenny? next step 220rwkw
  3. how much $$
  4. yeah we'll see how they go. get me that painters no. steve and ill test them the day there ready at kwinana, have no wheels to put them on atm or id be down there this week im a little worried as to how an already crunchy/noisy rb20 box is going to hold up to big launches on these tyres tho....
  5. rally tyre or not they are designed for tarmac use, i remember gtrken saying he recomends them so they must be worth a go. i never said they were a drag tyre, so do your whoring somewhere else, this is just to help out people who would like more forwards rather than sideways motion paul, the 17" tyre is designed for up to a 9" rim
  6. no worries, there is a 17" version also but ill check price on that today. ill have mine next week if you want a look rob but they wont be on my car for a few untill wheels are ready then ill test em at the drags. a few others are buying them for that purpose illl let you know how they go.
  7. ive decided to do a group buy on silverstone semi slicks seeing as there is alot of interest atm. price is yet to be set but expect to pay less than 200per tyre for a 16" semi-slick in your choice of compound (hard, medium soft) the more people the lower the price silverstone dont seem to give conventional tyre sizes but the dimensions for the 16" tyre are 625mm dia. and 210mm width these arent legal for the street either i should have a pair on the back of my car in a couple weeks if people want to check them out. interested people post here or pm edit: link to the tyres http://www.silverstone.com.my/products/rally/s575.html
  8. ok people im arranging a group buy of silverstone semi-slicks. 200bucks or less depending on numbers for a 16" tyre. you can get 17's but more $$, ill have to check if theres interest in the bigger tyre. pm me if your interested. theyre a track tyre but should be ok for the strip, i may start a thread if theres sufficient interest
  9. damn i really really want a ride in this car.... well done paul & steve
  10. ok i have a dent in the sump, is this a big problem for the rb20? please dont say the motor needs to be lifted to get the sump on/off like most cars
  11. there are many many 12sec wrx's, dont see many 33's doing as well so easily except for gtr's
  12. there are stock ls1's with exh, intake and ls1 edit doing 12's. which is not bad considering the weight.
  13. hey sydneykid, what about rb20's. i get the oil pressure light coming on when i hit the brakes hard from high speeds and thats only on the street.. should i be worried about this?
  14. ill have to make it the 15th, too much uni crap to do next week
  15. west racing, being one of the distributers are cheapest. in ossie park
  16. Joel i have the exact same problem, but im still making pretty good power. ive never seen the smoke but it hesitates and wont accelerate until i stick my foot in it a fair bit more than normal and then it suddenly jolts forward like it has been towing and the rope snapped.....ive heard it might be a cold start ignition retard? will try the injector cleaner to this only happens for the first 5min or so of driving from cold start
  17. see ya's there, come say hello havent met many people from this forum
  18. just high flow it. not much more lag than std, and mines pushing 250rwhp at 1bar. thats got the afm maxed, the injectors are prob on the edge too being a red top. strangely the std fuel pump still has some left, unless it was modified in jp. can be done for around 1k or another option is the rb25 unit with similar results but ceramic exh so itll be on the limit
  19. have heard some bad reports about this stuff lately, be carefull putting it in a box that is in good nick, seems to ruin synchros after 10000 k's, pull the box apart and the 'oil' is chalk. fixes stuffed synchros, but eventually they die also. this is just from experiance lately with a number of wrx's
  20. sweet, a mate has some fresh 235 15's i can have cheap, just need to find some wheels to put em on and ill be off to the plex, hopefully with some decent 60ft times. anyone heading down next week?
  21. what sort of numbers can the rb20 tb flow, is it worthwhile going to the 25 tb?
  22. how much for the rb25 tb's? will need one soon for a custom plenum, making it myself with the help of a fabricator so will see how it goes, shoudl save me the 600 he normally charges for this sorta work also does using a larger tb require aftermarket manangemnt or can i use the safc to clean up the mixtures...
  23. i meant lagwagon... was your best 60ft time on 195's too? have you tried using fatter rubber
  24. sean what tyre size/pressure do you run at the plex? is the track ever properly prepped or only at big meets?
  25. i had the same problem, kept looking for things wrong with the motor, never thought that it was just runnning to bloody rich on the other hand, now its tuned its missfiring again...hmmmm
