Blue32 im interested in ur frontbar if u can post pics of it and give a rough estimate on how much.
-
personally i'm a 2 door man... ive got a 2 door 32 that i use as a daily driver and i couldnt be happier with it, theres not too much difference performance-wise between the two, the 4 door being a tiny bit heavier i think. the main differences are cosmetic, are u intending this car to be a people mover (all ur mates) as well as the way to get to and from work/uni? if so then maybe the 4 door is more practical. the rear lights are the major reason why im not a big fan of 4 door 32s, i prefer the 2 door rear lights. hope this helps a bit

yeah i was out there a couple of weeks ago with my mate who tried drifting his ichigo (S15 front, 180 back) but didnt have too much success... had a good time spectating tho, might get my car out there one day

Looking For Turbo Comparison............
prosman replied to craz0's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
im pretty sure its the same graph that was posted, just the link is to a different site thats got it hope this is the right one http://www.ooparts-international.co.jp/ind...tion/index.html -
hey Bunta, if u could measure how thick the FMIC is ill be able to tell which one... 65mm is the Type-S for lightly modded cars. Have u got a 32 tho or a 33?
-
lol i dont think the brand name is gonna get me more power, but generally theyre better engineered than their generic counterparts, plus the fact that theyre car specific makes them easier to install and usually require less time hacking away at the body of the car to make them fit. ive done some decoding of the japanese blitz site and it looks like 32s use the stock piping like the 33s
-
Hey all, looking into buying myself a brand name FMIC for my 32 Gtst in the near future. Just wondering what route the piping takes for brands like Apexi, HKS, Blitz etc. A mate of mine has a greddy one and the pipe goes from the turbo through the stock piping to the FMIC and then out behind the battery and over the top of the engine bay b4 going into the plenum. Seeing as the cold air crosses the top of the hot engine bay, it doesnt seem very smart. How much does it affect the cold air? in other words is the piping route something to worry about or not? If they all take the same route over the engine bay ill just go for the greddy... but ive seen some that come back up through the stock piping, are they just custom jobs? cheers y'all

Whats The Best Car U've Seen A P-plater Drive ?
prosman replied to r34_skyline's topic in General Automotive Discussion
this is why i love south australia, im a p plater and there are no restrictions on what kind of car i drive best car ive seen a p plater drive was a brand new rex... bastard -
yeah im thinking its all too hard atm, it was just a thought as the lack of auto climate control was one of the cons when i purchased the car... but as long as its all working theres no real problem i guess
-
yep just silver, same as my mate's... its possible the paint just wore off after 15 years but the only 32 ive seen with the red/white small badges was a GTR and the guy who owned it told me silver was for gts-t
-
this is about the best pic i could get without ripping out the cables.. hope this is enough
-
haha funky monkey rele put me back in my place... i agree with all he said cept bout the badges... mine are silver as are all the R32 gts-t's that ive seen... from wat ive been told the small ones with the red and white are only on R32 GTRs... my further 2 cents

hey all, just a quick question i have an R32 with the manual climate control (one with the slidey switches and stuff) and i was wondering if anyone has changed over theirs to an auto climate control. i could prob pick up the actual unit from a wreckers but would there be too much labour to make it a reasonably inexpensive mod?? the switching between vents is already electronic as it uses push buttons and u can hear the motor moving stuff inside the dash, its mainly the control of the temperature and the selecting of fan speed. eager to hear some replies

some of the differences between series 1 and 2 R32s - on the fender, the GT badge is silver and smaller on the S1 and a larger red/white one on the S2 (like the R33 badge) - on the fender also, S2 have a small oval indicator where the S1 does not - also i believe S2 came with side intrusion bars already installed where the S1 gets them welded in when u get ur car complied here is aussie the series 1 R32 was basically around for 1989-1990 i think, then came the series 2 hope this clarifies some things

when i said the GT2530 i was more thinking the HKS version. from what i've heard theyre definately the way to go over the Garret one. whats the difference between the two?
-
hey all, just wondering which brand (either Trust or HKS) ppl think is better for a bolt on turbo... eg. GT2530 vs TD-05 and more importantly WHY! ive heard that trust turbos are not water cooled, is there any truth to this??
-
oh yeah hadnt thought of that... cheers!

just a quick question, i own an '89 R32 Gts-t Type M and i was wondering what kind of diff i have, either viscous or mechanical. if it was available with both kinds of diff how would i tell which one i had. the reason for my question is i may need to replace my current diff as its sounding pretty worn and the wrecker needs to know which kind of diff im after b4 just selling me another diff. as far as i know the current diff is an LSD any input is greatly appreciated! (even if its just telling me the difference between viscous and mechanical diffs )

yeah im kinda thinking the good olde nissan one might have been a wiser choice, seeing as im not doing nethin insane with the engine. and in response to what u said TommO, they tried telling me that it wasnt the timing belt to start off with, which i knew was wrong so i told them to check the timing belt. after 3 hrs labour they finally tell me it actually is the belt and theres nothing they can do. i suppose the sound isnt too bad and when i get my full exhaust itll mask the sound good. im just annoyed about the money! oh well ill live
-
well i am madder than a cut snake... dont mind me always wanted to use that line! theres nothing wrong with my timing belt aparantly, its just the fact that its the greddy strengthened one... according to the performance shop they tend to make noise. not happy considering i spent $170 getting them to check it out and basically reinstall it! but yeah ur looking at 2-3 hrs labour and the initial cost of the belt ppl... the final cost depends on ur mechanic and whether u go for a stock belt or a strengthened one. strengthened ones set ya back over $150. unfortunately my belt is doomed to a life of squeeking
-
im taking my car back to the place i got it done, coz aparantly they often need to make small adjustments after fitting it to get the tension just right... its getting looked at on tues so ill let u guys know how it goes! lucky for me its not gonna cost nething coz its just fixing the problem they created
-
yeah same thing happened with me actually, after i got my car back from getting a new timing belt there was a squeeling noise coming from my engine bay and its still there after 5000kms :| although mine is a 32 and i used a greddy strengthened timing belt, it seems ive got the same problem. might not be the timing belt but one of the other belts they took off to get to the timing belt. unfortunately getting a mechanic to investigate may be costly! eager to hear other ppls thoughts
-
nice work Jenius.... hehe, i also stumbled across something in the DIY section of this site, it looks like a guy has gone through one of those brochures and scanned every R32 Gts-t option and posted it with descriptions, all R32 owners should take a look!! its nuts http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=48934

you could try and find urself the din gauge cluster from a GTR and whack it in there, otherwise you could probably pick up a stock pocket from a wrecker in ur city like i did... i ended up payin $30 for mine which some may say is overpriced but it was made specifically for my car so y not go for stock! matches the cigarette compartment too

good idea rhett, and to make sure everyone is on the same page the frontbar ive been talking about IS the AERO option one, even tho i was refering to it as the beasty type-m frontbar soz for ne confusion guys!!!
