I've seen a Jeep do exactly that and absolutely flying down the Western Ring rd one morning (like slowing to 140 in the service lane to overtake).. oh you know.. he had HUGE wheels too.. should have known he was a hoon straight away!

So.. let me get this right, you drive drunk, you drive while suspended, you have hit a car whilst suspended, used a fraudulent name and you STILL think you deserve to drive? It's a privilege, not a right. I don't think anybody in their right mind would listen to advice from you. I don't agree with cops pulling people over just because they have a slightly loud exhaust or they don't have a H pattern, but did you ever consider that driving around drunk and unlicensed affects other people when you run them off the road and kill their child/partner for eg? Where's their freedom? Completely gone because of some stupid moron who should never have gotten their license in the first place. How are THEY supposed to get to work and support their family when you total their car?

Yes but.... have any of them made a claim? What was the outcome? Also how do you decide if a mod caused an accident or not.. like.. ok I'm trying to think of a quick example.. Say you boost it onto the freeway, are not going over the speed limit.. and like in melbourne there is a really gay entrance to one of the freeways where everyone is trying to enter in two ADDED lanes and everyone else is trying to move to the left lanes to exit not too far up.. heaps of times trucks almost run me off the road because they dont look when they merge left... say I swerved to avoid a truck, lost it, ran into a pole.. say I had an upgraded turbo but no upgraded brakes.. you could possibly argue that if I had upgraded the brakes I might have been able to stop? I don't know, I'm sure someone else can think of a better example. The point is, it would be easy for an insurance company to find a million reasons to reject a claim and even Shannons has in it PDS that it only covers legal modifications.. You know I still haven't heard one story about someone who's had an accident and had heaps of illegal mods and got a payout..

One of my moronic brothers went to jail 3 times for driving unlicensed & speeding (in qld also). So.. it does happen. First time was for like 6months, served 3.. went up from there. Oh I should probably add that he's never even had his license and still doesn't and he's been driving for like.. 20 years or something now.

Ok I'm confused, where on the bypass? There are very obvious speed cameras between cooper and the next exit heading north, in fact the whole underside of the bridge is lit up in pink neon at night.. can't miss them (theyre on both sides too). I don't know of any other cam's but I haven't been past cooper much. The tiny ones at the rusty old bridge before Cooper.. I was under the impression they were safety cameras rather than revenue raising? Heading NTH up the ring rd - cameras are: just after exiting the westgate to ring rd, just before McMobil exit (1)... then after McMobil at Western Hwy exit (2).. then keilor park underpass, its on a bend (3), then as you head up the hill under pascoe vale rd (4). Oh and a recent addition is at Millers Rd on the westgate in both directions. From the westgate northbound they are definately not point to point but the one at Keilor park is a variable speed limit one in line with the new variable speed signs.. I don't know about Melbourne Rd/Geelong... but I did see camera technicians sitting in fold up chairs behind the fuse? boxes at every camera on the princes fwy a month ago or so tho Anyway I'm on the ring rd everyday and I haven't had a ticket in 4 years. And without turning this into a speed camera thread.. does anyone know whats up with the citylink toll gates? Around xmas they replaced a row of cameras at each gate and we suspect they are speed cameras.. but.. not 100% sure on that. Anyhoo have fun guys and take it easy... just watch out for the cameras when you have to put your foot down for 2 secs to avoid someone merging into you....

ROFL Anyway its not always a good thing when people come up to you and want to talk about your car... you guys take it for granted and enjoy the ego stroking (no offence intended to anyone) which is a very good way to find out exactly whats in, or not in, the car when thieves and potential car jackers go hunting. At the end of the day you should be more worried about your own well being than whether someones going to steal the car, if you're not getting in/out of the car at the time, I'd be more inclined to say it's not yours, especially if they seem dodgy.

Can I just ask a quick question.. those of you that have had accidents and made a repair/writeoff claim, who were you with and did you have any illegal mods? Were they a problem when you tried to make a claim (esp with Just Cars & Shannons). Were they listed on your policy or did they just not see them or ...? I'm just wondering if we should be bothering with comp insurance (as opposed to 3rd party) because everyone says something different but most of those people haven't tried to make a claim! Anyway feel free to PM if you don't want anything posted public.. I appreciate any answers Ignuz: at least if you didn't put much time & effort into the car and weren't really attached to it.. if you get a payout you'll probably save money or get alot of extras on your new car at the current prices lol If the gtst got written off, we could easily buy a beaten up GTR (but still a gtr!) with the payout! gah
