my new rb26 2.8
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to skylinesteve's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
what crank is it to be 2.8???? As elluded to by doughboy, you have skimpted on some very important components that will prelong engine life, I believe if you are spending the money on 3240's you should spend an extra 2-3g on a good oiling and cooling setup like re-proprieting the cooling system!!! Good luck mate if everything falls into place should really see aroung 600kw at the fly!!! -
they will rev to what you want, so will any engine, it just wont be that good for it... I dont know why people think another 500rpm or so is alot more, or will achieve something- its does relatively nothing!!! A well built rb30 will rev to 7.5k all day; an rb26 only revs to 8k (standard), maybe 8.5k with good pistons and over 9 with a forged crank. Sure 9k now thats alot more, but buy the time you have a forged crank you could of built a billit main girdle for the rb30 and molloyed your crank and have the rb30 reving around 8.5-9k as well.... Another note an rb26 with stock cams stops making power at 7200 so what the point reving it to 8k you achieving nothing!!! You have to remember it is a 3L you dont need to do that to make power, for example the guys in the states are reving 2j 3L toyo motors to around 7.5-7.8 and making 800hp at the wheels. In short your cams wont let the engine rev harder only change the rev characteristc of the engine!!!

AUTOSPEED: Massive turbo to run 345rwkw my asss, you could run a .67 rear housing and get near to that figure and the thing would fry the tyres at 3g..... These guys gave the response a good go but are just taking the easiest route to cover their arses. The nissan rwd box will be marginal at those levels but a tricked up standard auto wouldnt be!!!! As for GTR stuff he didnt really ask that did??!!!!

yeah definatley not baggin Chris don't get me wrong he is a really good and genuine guy who definately knows what he is doing, but he has the problem like alot of the trade has, they need to hire another worker but can't trust anyonbe to do the job right. For anyone in the motor industry they will understand how very hard it is to hire employees you can be confident in doing the job as good as you would do it yourself, its near on impossible, so if Inline gave a bloke a go and he stuffed a job on customers car than i would have no different of an opinion, that its hard to get good help, and by fixing everything no quams is a sign of good business. Peace

from the pictures it has the compressor cover as used on the t04, it doesnt have any ar on the front housing and according to hks specs has a .90 rear housing. The ta45 or t45s, has a stamped ar on the front housing of .72 and one on the rear of 1.12. Hope this helps still a very very good turbo and i have seen this trubo on a supra do 390rwkw!!!

GTR Fuel PUmp Upgrade
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to ricknismo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
people who whinge about a nosiy 044 or 984, SHOULD BLOODY INSTALL THEM PROPERLY!!!!!!! Used and installed about 10 044 and never had one thats been any nosier than stock!!!! -
the ta45 was the older version basically of the t51 they now use. If it is a ta45 the front ar. will be .72 and the rear a massive 1.12. They will flow up to 800ps, and the cast manifold if its the true kit is a log style low mount with the hks 48mm external wastegate mounted high!! When i bought my GTR 4 years ago it had this kit and made 320rwkw on 18psi, but unfortunately the manifold had a crack and made it lag monster. They are a great turbo for the price you pay for them and are truely huge, a little to big for a stock GTR so I also downsized the rear housing to a more friendly read usable .92 and put the t51 kia front and rear wheels in it now its fantastic like having a t51 basically.... Hope this helps some enquires about it, and good luck with the sale. Daniel.

How to LAUNCH a GTR right!!

Dumping the clutch or side stepping it will break driveshafts, stuff uni's and stuff your clutch center... If you watch all the japs how they do it is the nicest possible way for the best result. Pull your handbrake on and leave your hand on it pulled up bring the revs to around 6.5+ and pull the clutch out till you can feel the car fighting the handbrake, from here release the handbrake and clutch at the same time and your away.... SOunds hard but by doing this the clutch is already semi engaged and nearly up to speed and all the slack has been taken from all your driveline components. Sure it burns the clutch a little but its no worse than any other method!!!! -
PFC Software Datalogit Vs Apexi Power Excel
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to blukie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
paulr33 if i send you some money would it be at all possible for you to burn me a copy and mail it to me champ??? Daniel.. -
I have had about 20 cars done at Capital and never had a problem, I think it is testimate to them they fixed it all without argument, they could have just said sh.t happens!!! I used Inline on my own GTR and was very unhappy with mainly the service and the unkept promises related to the time it was going to take and when it was going to be finished, but others swear by him....The moral is everyone has bad opinions and bad experiences with everywhere!!! the best thing you can do I believe is look at how long they have been in business and if you feel you can trust the place that does work on your car, if you go to their workshop (regardless of profession) and get the feeling they will treat your car sh.t trust that feeling in my opinion!!! Good luck with the car should be sweet now!!!

N1 oil pumps??
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to muaythailuke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
no you cant but you can by a three stage scavendge pump for the same money as an aftermarket pump!!!! Then all you need is a resevoir a custom sump scavenge point and line and fittings it could be done for around 3 if you did all the work. Its a very good option for those who are serious!!!! -

Fuel cell and pumps in boot
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to ttfj20's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i dont know about qld but in act i will have to have a 1.2mm steel flash panel at the back of my seats and on my parcel tray in case of fire. And the fuel cell mounting points have to be welded as part of the floor pan that what my engineer said. Hope this helps.
