Dodgy Workshop !!!
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to Jay95R33's topic in Australian Capital Territory
mate u obviously have no clue if you think your work will be better done in sydney hahhahhahhahahaha!!!!! Sydney shops are dodgy Central mate that were all these dodgy canberran workshops learn from. The only places in sydney that arent dodgy are croydons and cv, but did i also mention they charge like a wounded bull and if you arent prepared to spend alot with them they dont care about u!!! Phil out at skyline performance does really good work you only have to look at alfs car to see that, for all exhaust work powatone FYSHWICK not city, for all turbo theorising, tuning, or dynoing Jakes Performance in mitchell. These guys probs arent the cheapest around but you get what you pay for i cant stress this enough, if you payed fr cheap work thats exactly wat u get, if you go against advice from ppl who know and have been burnt then you deserve to be burnt yourself!!! No offense to ppl who pay for a job to be done and it just doesnt like what has hapened to jay here but to the rest of you listen to ppl take there advice!! -

i got pulled over for a rbt on the way back n one cop was the nicest bloke the other was arrogant and started crap like engineers cert. for wheels and exhaust, rekkoned the tint was to dark (its not its legal) wanted to know who tinted the headlight well they are factory so i shut him down on that and started saying the plates where fake (there private jobs) But i just said heres my mums phone number its her car ring her!! he let me off but he went on for ages thinking he knew everything. After i got home mum said the reciept for the plates was in the glove box that would of really cained him!!! Good cruise though enjoyed they drive great road!! -
they are 440cc or some people say 444cc but they are not 418cc like other believe they are 440cc. All GTRS have the same size there would be no advantage to changing to r34 ones!! But yes it would be a direct fit!!

how to advance the timing
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to _turtle_'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
whatever you do dont just advance the timing or let anyone else advance it just using the crank agle sensor this is not cool wont go into it at length but its not a good idea to do it this way. PLus id be pretty wary of more advamce on a gtst as the have quite a high static comp ratio of 9.0:1 and they are already tuned to 100RON fuel which we dont have so be carefull!!!!!!!! -
the standard gtst will flow about 140l/hre the GTR pump will flow bout 185l/hr and an 044 and 928 which are the same pump as far as i can see except the 044 is rated higher flow around 220l/hr. Im in the process of installing to 910's a mallory lift pump surge tank and bigger fuel lines. Shoul give me a nice hummm from the right hand corner of the boot!!!!

no worries yeah i did ark up a bit but wasnt tryin to be just turned out that way in the type. Yeah the 180 with that sr is pretty lethal but theres just no grip peopl in mild rexes n gsr lancers just nail him at the lights then by the time he can really do anything about it everyone thinks they have won. Theres no traction till bout 100kays but its fun to passenger in:eek:

hey dont shoot me down im just telling you my info!!!!!!!!!!! A mate has a sr20 bored to 2.1litres with all the gear he had a 75mm hybrid core we couldnt get the car much beyong 245-260rwkw no matter how much boost we screwed into the thing, there happened to be a car with a trust cooler on it which was actually a little smaller and straight away the car went up 15rwkw, so we got it on the flow bench and the numbers indicated that the hybrid was just not flowing so now he has a 110mm item!! Yes i agree this cooler is fine for nismo freak just putting in my info to give him something to think about. Oh and macka that WAS true!!! Im sure they make more than one core and thins was one of their first so no doubt they have improved since then!!! PLus they are a really good price i say go for it i just thought id share my experiences sorry!!!!!!!!!!!

these coolers have been flow bench tested and cant flow much more than 250rwkw on a 2 litre or similar motors something to think about!!!

E6K ecu for R33 gtst
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to nizmokid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The new e11 is out which is simply an awesome computer 1600 load point 3d maps for fuel and ignition, closed loop, adaptive learning, dataloagging. The only ecu better i believe is the m8 motec otherwise its the best goin, im goin to be using it on my gtr instead of an apexi!! -

clean your airflow meter
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to lowlux's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
dont remove both meshes remove the back one not the front!!!!!!!!!!! This is the easiest way i can explain it, say you have a hose with no end, you may be able to get a little more flow but the water is course and isnt uniform it just gushes out, same hose but with a small mesh over the end the water stays together is smooth and uniform and stll flows well. Same with the AFM with out the screens you get grainy air (technical term you may all use, hahaha) it is not a consistent airflow over the whole area of the AFM thus you can get bad tuning as the air is lumpy and sends mixed messages to the ecu, on the other hand the screen makes the airflow consistant and the same over the same area so its even. So in closing your honour, i rekon you can safely remove the back one does nothing really but always leave the front one in place it does serve a purpose!!! -
i have EBC green stuff on the front and EBC black stuff on the back, however the back are insignificent just put anything on there as long as its the right fit. The bendix number fo the front is 1149 they are the same as landcruiser and you can get pads for as little as $40 but there sh_t. I had endless or something similar on the front before, lasted 5thou k dust everywhere all the time and where out of temp range after 10 or so spirited corners!@!

Do you need a 300km/h speedo?
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Skylines have have this as do all imports due to the speed cut imposed on japanese domestic cars, they are only supposed to do 180 thus they dont need to put any more numbers on the dial!! You cant get cheap 300k speedos they are all pretty dear, id suggest unique autosports if you did seriously want one!! -
