sealed off section of road, in the gtr 5th gear roun 8000rpm needle was facing in six o'clock position i cant be sure what that would actually be but round 245 or so! Everything after that felt so damn slow:uh-huh:
-
i beleive this is right from what i have heard to plus if you choose to go map i rekon it would be hard finding a tuner who is confident in this area especially on a rb26
-
They use the PRO on the apexi drag cars and apexi recommend it for competition use if you are goin to use it in map sensor mode as ken says although they wont say it the map sensor still has trouble controlling individual throttle bodies. Calv you can get rid of it or you can choose to kepp them depends on the mode you run, if you do run map yes you can vent to atmosphere with blow off valve and there are no probs!!
-
GTST there was an n1 in all models of the gtr, boo5t the cars you see that arent n1 with this they have been fitted later or the front bar has been replaced thats probs why you see more run of the mill R's with them these cars are more likely to have a new front bar.

People that say "I've got not traction"
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to slip's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Heres a senerio for you. Guy has a hilux ute 1991 model, with a soarer twin turbo six shoved under the bonnet. However the 2 turbo's replaced by one big one controlable ecu big front mount, and an external wastegate that allows no less than 10psi. He has done his best by putting the fattest tyres he can on the back even went down rim sizes to get a bigger sidewalled tyre. Yet with partial throttle when that big turbo hit boost its all over. Wouldnt you say slip that this guy just cant get traction, totally his own fault shouldnt have put it in a hilux ute but i believe there are incidences where your car is just to powerfull for daily road conditions due to the fact you cant get traction. Although i agree with the generall sentiment i hate these tools in silvia's for instance that have bald tyres go into a corner get on the gas before the apex then say its to powerfull winde back the boost i cant get traction!! Good luck to you all in your search for the perfect balance :burnout: -
Where to buy Carbon Fibre ?
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to YO880's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
boxcar: kevlar looks like.. erm.. kevlar... umm.. ok.. ya know how with carbon you have the checkered effect? with like a grey and a black... well kevlar appear like usually the black and a greenish yellow chequered, Hey boxcar kevlar is the type of material it is actually wooven different to carbon fibre, you can get carbon fibre to be yellow and black the clour all depends on the type of reseign you use if you use epoxy the strongest it is yellow so it turns the white of the matting to a yellow,if you use regular fiberglass reseign it is bluey grey but pretty clear that why the carbon fibre looks grey. no tryin to talk down to you just thought i could help out!!! -
The main difference is that the PRO uses map sensor instead of mass airflow meters. This means you can get rid of those afm's restricting flow, and supposedly the computer will hadle the fact that you have six throttle bodies unlike other map sensored computers. I think this is right this is what i have been told anyway hope it helps:)

With lowerin the only problem i can see is if they lower it put i harder springs the car can corner harder thus muakin the hicas work harder and the light might come shouldnt effect the car. Take your wheels to a smash repaires place the can sand them out and repaint them good as new if the scratches are deeper then you may have to get the outer lip lightly machined world of wheels in quenbeyan can do this as they do it on a lathe so the wheel runs true and is done preperly. Hope this helps:)

'SKYLINE' rear pannel
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to NI5MO's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
oh ok yours sound like laminted vinyl letters if so be carefull i pulled them off on my old silvia n they pulled the paint up. The r33 is a seperate panel just checked then it goes between the blinkers it shouldnt be too hard to get off. -
'SKYLINE' rear pannel
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to NI5MO's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
r32 its part of the bumper r33 cant really remember i think its seperate on them, i'll check later. If in fact it is removable on the r33 i think you would have to remove the bumber then the tail lights. First though look under the trim cover in the boost it might just bolt up from behind. Why you wanna remove it? -
What do you rev to?
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to Shell's topic in General Automotive Discussion
thanks for the info HIRISK i thought i was givin my motor a hidin goin to 8000rpm. What do you plan to do next to your car?? Mine has a single t51 but with a different front compressor housing slightly larger than the old t51 housing which mine is. I must say im not the biggest fan of it mainly due to the lag and the fact i can only run it at about 16psi when it should really be running bout 30psi but my stock internalls i dont think they have it in them for 30psi thats why i believe it is so laggy. Whats the price on that clutch mine is a single plate but is really modified i dont like it much as it is way too heavy heavier in fact than a friend who has a tripple plate:uh-huh: -
What do you rev to?
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to Shell's topic in General Automotive Discussion
hirisk:I shift at around 8,000 to 8,750 when drag racing, depends on what gear I am in to how far I take it. Hey hirisk do you have stock internals in your car if so do they take that kind of reving easily cause with my GTR i have a big single and id love to remove the cut at 8000 to get a bit more from the turbo. When it only starts boostin at 5 i would like all the revs i can come across, thanks. -
A'PEXi AVC-R -Vs- GReddy Pro-Fed B
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to a topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hype the apexi is better with a power fc cause it can be intergrated into the power fc as they are both Apexi. Im not sure on this but i think the power fc might have a extra pin in for the avc-r and maybe a sub menu through though the computer that recognises that you are using the boost controller. Can any one varify this i could of been told **** -

Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to a topic in General Automotive Discussion
i agree with xrsist that the profec b is probs better unless you are goin to go to a power fc then the apexi is a better option. The reason that i suggested the daul stage bc is because it is cheap and if you really do need to use 2 different boost settings in your car. I know that they arent as accurate for curving boost spiking but unless you are willing to re callibrate your ebc often they arent as efficient in stopping boost spiking as alot of people think. Im not against them i just thought id mention other options for you Hype, cheers. -
Another Q - import changes!
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to sigsputnik's topic in Australian Capital Territory
what alot of people dont realise is how good imports have it in terms of parts. There are nearly as many import parts places as normal wrekers all have heaps of stuff and all can get more. Even if they banned imports cars comin in that doesnt mean you cant get the import parts. For instance i got a 5 speed ca18det trubo gearbox for 250 buck with 3months warranty, my brother in laws ****ty laser fwd asu model just cracked the bell housing and its goin to be 800 for a 2nd box. Import parts are so cheap man dont worry bout it!! -

my advice is get niether i know this will met strong criticism but hear me out:uh-huh: If you have a standard turbo get a dual stage turbo smart if you have a bigg turbo set the boost through the wastegate. Now i just havent said this blindly ive had some experience on both and from talking to an expert in tuning this is my conclusion. you see if you do a dyno run with max boost max everything the computer sets this when you run lower boost it only resets to an extent so i believe your not saving that much extra juice or whatever by running it at a lower boost you better off running your car the way its tuned all the time if this means 15psi then thats it. I have a profec b but im goin to take it off my GTR n put it on the r33 (cause my mum drives it) cause i believe that extra wiring hassle with calibration and weight are not worth the small amount of fuel i would be saving!! Just my 2c worth. And i know its mainly the ease of just changing boost that is the luxury just something to think about if your tryin to decide between two part for your car a fmic or a profec b for instance:rolleyes: -
yeah im keen for a friday get together hey also who is it that has a silver r33 gtst that just moved into harcourt hill with a SDU sticker on the back of there car keen to find out!! Canberra R32/R33 Questions :)
Fitzpatrick Speed Works replied to sigsputnik's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Go and see skyline imports in mitchell these sorts of questions are there specialty. they bring in skylines and can get you what you want they also fully service them.Keying cars: yes there are wankers everywhere but i would have to say its not to bad u just dont park it where it might be sus. Insurance will depend on your suburb but generally pretty good alot better than Sydney.
