  7. Hey guys, Just wondering, how much is a black GTST Series II priced? I'm thinkin of sellin my skyline. It has about 94K - 95K km. Cheers, A
  8. Was thinking of changing the cables to black. But that doesn't make the viper an australian standard. I've talked to few of my friend who owns a audio security shop and they mentioned that the australian standard alarm like flashpoint, mongoose, etc are not even half as good as the Viper or Clifford in terms of module and functionality. They are only better in terms of the black cabling. That means, you car *MIGHT* be safe from stolen but not necessarily safe from breakins. I find that is is plain silly that the insurance company accepts crappy alarms but rejects the top of the range ones. It is sad, I'm gonna have to switch to a crappy alarm product (or even just put in a plain OZ standard immobilizer). Or alternatively, change my comprehensive to third party and put a top of the range alarm.
  9. Well, I am over 25 thankfully...but still Shannon's quote is higher than Just Car. Which one is recommended though in term of trustworthyness? Btw, just finished talking to both Just Car and Shannons. They seem to be unaware that the VIper/Clifford is not of Australian Standard. LOL And the code for Australian Standard is: AS/NZ4601 I guess at the end of the day the question is, will they make it a big deal if so happens that you car has Viper and got stolen?
  10. I got a quote from Shannon's and it was like 2K. With just cars im at 1020. So $980 is a big difference. How much ppl (over 25s with Rating 1) are paying with Shannon's per year? And do they really have pay per month instead of per year?
  11. Anybody heard of flashpoint? Is it good?
  12. Its a pitty. I'm a fan of Viper and Clifford and they're both not Australian Standard. I believe both are better than the ones that are OZ Standard. For example, Clifford, they have the wireless immobilizer. WHich i think is better than black wirings. Oh well. Waiting for shannons to give me a quote
  13. Thanks for the info mate. So to be sure that an alarm is Australian Standard we just need to search for that code? Will it be in the box or manual? Some alarm sellers/dealers out there are dishonest. Need to make sure I'm getting the right alarm. Most insurance will only require a AS 2 point immobilizer. Is there a different coding for immobilizer and alarm? Any recommendations of good ones (alarm)? And yeah, I'll keep the receipts now.
  14. Did a research on the web and found out that most Vipers doesn't have black wirings as per following website: http://www.directed.com/security/viper/ Anyone who knows Vipers cablings please comment. There is however 1 alarm model that has black wirings. It is the 700ESP. Don't know if it is available in Australia though. See the following: http://www.directed.com/security/viper/pdf...er906V_8-03.pdf Also, is there a way to convert the coloured wirings to black wirings?
  15. It has 2 point Immobilizer but not an australian standard ones. They have coloured wirings instead of the black ones.
