  1. Hi Pete, Just had another look at my grille and was wondering if there was a different one for the Series 2 R33? Here's a dodgy snap of mine. You can see that this is different to Ruffel's grille as this one has no top edge bit. If that radiator guide were to be used here, I'd think it would look a bit funny as it doesn't finish on an edge.
  2. Item: K&N POD filter + AFM adaptor + mounting bracket Location: Perth, WA Item Condition: Used, good condition Reason for Selling: No longer needed Price and Payment Conditions: $50 + $16.70 parcel post (or pickup in Perth) Extra Info: Included is a mounting bracket which I made for my 33. So if this is going onto a 33, chances are you'll be able to use this. Contact Details: PM or reply here.
  3. you see it depends. if you have already crossed the white line and it turns amber whilst going straight, by the time you stop, you'd be in the middle of the intersection. In this case, I reckon u could keep going and should not get pinned for anything. but since you were doing a U turn, your speed should of been slow enough to stop relatively quickly. This is iffy and would prolly be up to police discretion.
  4. i usually get about 12.5L/100kms .... mix of thrashing and normal driving. 33 S2 with exhaust, FMIC, K&N filter, high boost mod.
  5. haha, R33s have the biggest interior between R32-R34, so if you go for an R32, it will be more cramped
  6. Hey Pete, I'll take one to go to West Perth, WA, 6055. Can you pls confirm postage costs and I'll transfer the cash and send you my delivery address. Cheers Alex.
  7. have you had the rotors replaced or machined? everytime they put pads on, if the rotor is warped, you will keep on getting the same symptoms.
  8. I've just installed a set of R33 GTR seats. Rears are not much different but I got them to match the fronts. The fronts are absolute awesome! Well worth the cash spent!
  9. the car was a gtr .. the front and rear quarter panels were all pumped. i'd say the motor and front seats were pulled out and now he's trying to sell it with a r32 motor and front seats
  10. I went from FWD to RWD... but to a gtst. Many people here say to young inexperienced drivers to not have a turbo car, to gain some experience then buy a good car. But if you've been driving for a few years and have a good head on your shoulders, I don't see it as being dangerous. Just take it easy and know your boundaries, until you understand the car a bit better
  11. and if you have access to Autospeed: http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_2740/article.html Quoted about the R33 RB25DET range: R33 Skyline The RB20DET came to an end in mid 1993 it was replaced by a bigger and better version – the 2.5 litre RB25DET. Fitted to the R33 Skyline GTS25t, the RB25DET has upsized bore and stroke dimensions compared to the older 2-litre version – bore is massively increased from 78 to 86mm and the stroke is stretched from 69.7 to 71.7mm. Interestingly, the RB25DET uses the same bore dimensions as the RB26DETT (so it’s no surprise that the heads are virtually interchangeable). The biggest difference between the RB25DET and RB26DETT cylinder head is the lifters – the ’26 uses bucket-type followers while the ’25 uses hydraulic units. In addition to its cubic capacity advantage, the RB25DET scores larger diameter inlet runners, an improved cylinder head design, variable inlet cam timing, a larger T28-type ceramic turbo with a slightly larger intercooler and 370cc injectors. The static compression ratio is also bumped up to an aggressive 9:1 to help maintain off-boost performance. From about 3000 rpm this engine really comes alive. Peak torque (a substantial 294Nm) arrives at 4800 rpm and max power is 187kW at 6400 rpm. This power output is reduced in examples with a 4-speed auto transmission – you’re looking at 180kW and 275Nm. The RB25DET was also employed in high-performance versions of the Japanese Stagea wagon. Released in late ’96, the Stagea-spec RB25DET produces slightly less power and toque compared to the R33 Skyline version – 173kW and 275Nm. We can only assume this shortfall comes from a restrictive exhaust and air intake and a detuned ECU. The 173kW Stagea engine comes with an auto trans only and an electronic-controlled AWD system. RB25DETs are popular for tuners and, although there’s currently a good supply, these are relatively expensive engines – although they are cheaper than the more powerful RB26DETT. The mighty RB26DETT engine was altered for use in the R33-series Skyline GT-R. A slightly improved intercooler and ECU changes (giving more mid-range boost) raised peak torque to 369Nm but, if you can believe the claims, power remained at the Japanese regulation 206kW. Something is a bit fishy there.... Note that the same RB26DETT engine tune was also used in the ultra rare Autech 260RS version of the Stagea. The R33-spec twin-turbo RB26DETT punches out 206kW/369Nm making this one of the quickest wagons in the world. As far as we can tell, the engine and gearbox are identical to the R33 GT-R’s.
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=99714 Quote "The automatic versions only made 180kw and 274nm of torque, which combined with the extra 20kg kerb mass makes them substantially slower".
  13. no .. i read in the HPI review of the R33 that the auto actually makes less power. Must be the ECU tuning or something
  14. auto R33s make less power than their manual counterparts.
  15. the stalling problem is related is the spring.. the richness problem is due to the venting to atmosphere.
  16. as long as you go for a non cannon muffler (i went for an oval shaped one), i think it should cut down quite a bit of the noise. if you really want to quieten it down, you could go those reverse flow or turbo mufflers ... then whack on the cannon for those racing days.
  17. the clutch fluid is the little canister near the firewall.
  18. yeah .. will look into a replacement guard, but will probably go for a cut and weld job as opposed to a cut and glass job... the wallet is quite thing atm! but not thin enough to go for a dodge job
  19. that doesn't look too bad. when you said entry and exit on the same side, i thought you meant it was coming from the same end tank. the air is flowing from one end tank to the other .. i don't see it as too much of an issue.. .but thats only my amateur opinion.
  20. yeah but fitting rear quarters are expensive! I'd be looking at least over 1.2K to get a new rear quarter, fit and paint! .....i could 33 GTR panels but
  21. Nope, i'm after the black plastic surround bit which fits around the gauges as can be seen with this jeep cluster.
  22. Hey guys, Lookin for a R33 cluster which isn't working. I'm after some parts, mainly the black plastic bit which fits around the dials if you know what i mean.
  23. a higher flowing exhaust and fmic will generate more boost, therefore driving the turbo harder. stock cars are generally made reliable. modifications create more powerful cars, at the expense of reliability.
  24. would a cat louden an exhaust that much? wouldnt of thought so. if so, get a stocker 2.5" cat to quieten down the sucker
