  1. blowing heaps of blue smoke .. think she's a goner mate...
  2. i'd put my money on the BOV needing adjusting. stalling issues and sluggish acceleration can be due to the spring being too soft. when it vents, the bov is staying open for too long = stall. if you are giving the car shit, the bov may open = crappier acceleration. not sure about your fuel economy either .. i get just over 12L/100kms, calculated by distance travelled and how many litres it takes to fill up (the only real way to measure economy). I don't see how an atmo BOV can affect fuel economy. the side effect of an atmo BOV is that the car runs rich due to the air escaping rather than being plumbed back in. But if you were running a plumbback, you would be still using the same amount of fuel .. just not running rich as all the air is still available?
  3. thicker headgasket and up the boost?
  4. a mate wanted some guards and emailed em .. haven't heard a response to this day .. that was like a few months ago..
  5. cheers guys .. will take a look. yeah, reason why i want acc is cos i have some smoked gauges and need to be on when the car is running
  6. legally, any mods have to be destroyed and the car returned to stock. unless your compliance workshop does the dodgy, but penalties can be hefty.
  7. Hey guys, Just wondering what's the easiest way/place to find 12v when accessories has been turned on? i got some gauges i wanna hook up and would like them to light when the key has been turned to acc or on. cheers
  8. I bought my car from Autoworx. I have had all good experiences with him. He wasn't pushy, allowed me to drive a few cars and when my car had probs (water pump), it was all covered under warranty.
  9. The sr20det is one hell of a motor and can put out just as much power as a rb25 can... combined with a lighter car, the 180sx will most likely always be faster. I chose a series 2 R33 for a few reasons: a) better built. i hear many s13 owners complaining about their rattling interiors, my r33 doesn't have any. B) larger car. personal preference i guess. c) newer car. d) "safer car" with airbags. I also was looking at a s14a, but points b and d made me go the 33. The s14 was too cramped for my liking, and only the top of the range models had dual airbags.
  10. Hey guys, Anyone know the size of the recirc hose size for a R33? I'm getting an atmo BOV and need to plug up the recirc side, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knew the size. Plug sizes I can get are for 20mm, 25mm, 30mm and 33mm hoses. Anyone know which one to get?
  11. just saw the Mazda6 MPS in the mazda site which has a turbo 2.3L and pulls 190kw, 380nm of torque as you said SiVaK. The 4 banger creates max power at 5500 so it probably redlines about 6, so max torque would be around that area.
  12. vortex in WA is 95 .. only 98 octane is BP Ultimate
  13. running at 333mhz doesn't take that much power.. i run 333mhz for emulation ... the battery lasts atleast 4 hours, which i think is quite reasonable... i don't think my PDA could last that long running Morphgear..
  14. ebay has 1gb memory sticks for cheap.. i paid $102 for my stick plus shipping, about $115 all up. Can't wait for GTA: Liberty City Stories!!
  15. hmm.. you are too optimistic I know if i blew a turbo and the head was broken i'd be crying ....
  16. you could always whack in some octane booster so you don't have to limp it...
  17. i thought a rotten egg smell was time to get a new cat
  18. Anyone with a stock shifter who doesn't want an arm and a leg?
  19. Chrono Chross. Not as good as Chrono Trigger on SNES but still up there.
  20. I got consumption of around 11.2L/100kms in my S2 R33... mix of babying and hard driving.
  21. if you don't want to cut the chassis or fan, the hybrid cooler is not the way to go. the hybrid kits require cutting a hole on the drivers side, along with possibly trimming the fan blades for clearance.
  22. i remember reading from someone to do a run with your cat dropped? if the run has significant gains, could be your exhaust?
  23. that's cos they know they got no chance against the almighty zilla! However, a GTSt is a little more vulnerable .. especially in stock form.
  24. so I should just tell em there's a couple of relays on the passenger side which may be kept on after the car has been turned off, which is causing the battery to drain after a few days. cheers
  25. i've had to drive the car every 2 or 3 days otherwise it would have trouble starting if left for a few days. i will also look into this. how much did it cost you to fix?
