  1. premium unleaded (95 octane) is fine for a stock car. I've run 95 octane in my R33 GTST, stock boost with cat back exhaust.

  3. i doubt jap TV tuners are compatible with AUS TV. Also, you need a frequency convertor for the radio to work properly. I think if you don't, the radio stations are shifted like 10Mhz down?
  4. it's a thing you put over your handbrake button so it's always pushed down, so all you need to do to get the handbrake going is a quick tug up. also means you don't have to push the button while trying to get it down...
  5. super clear red for me
  6. If you only are after 180-200rwkw, get another stock turbo and don't waste your cash on a larger item. any larger turbo will require cooler, clutch, fuel (pump and injector) changes, all $$$
  7. I guess it's risk as well. I bought my R33 from a dealer as it came with a 3 year warranty etc etc. Sure I paid more for it but I can be assured that if something failed (like a water pump the other month), it would be covered.
  8. As a side note guys, what do you use to cut the actual bumper? (ie the slats) It's all plastic so would a hacksaw or jigsaw be up to the job?
  9. GTA:SA has been out for ages! It was released in Oct last year in the states for the PS2. I think it's bs that a game can get recalled because of a 3rd party patch. What next? Mario gets taken off shelves cos somebody wrote patches to make all the characters naked?
  10. in SR1 from memory, you buy a car and make note of how much you bought it for. Then sell it straight away, putting the original price as a selling price. When they offer an amount, say no. Sell it for the same again and say no when they offer. Then sell it for 22111 and they'll take it. something like that.....
  11. 12psi from a stock turbs will flow less than 12psi from a bigger turbs. if they all flowed the same, there'd be no need for higher flowing, larger units
  12. A/F gauge should be rich on WOT and bounce back and forth from lean to rich/stoich when cruising. This is because the ECU is in closed loop and is feeding fuel based on the oxygen sensor readings. It will lean it out till it gets too lean, then richen it up till its too rich. Keeps on doing this hence why you see it going back and forth.
  13. any chance of seeing them lit?
  14. the apexi kit i have returns back under the intercooler? i think there are a few kits but.
  15. If your previous accident did not involve insurance companies, or was not reported to the police, then I guess they wouldn't find out....
  16. Why did you buy a car that wasn't running right in the first place?
  17. In the current issue of HPI, they say that the rb20 box is more like a silvia box, and that the rb25 box is effectively the same internals as the GTR box? Don't know how true it is, but yeah, issue 56 page 114.
  18. I originally was after a S14 but opted out due to me not being able to fit comfortably in one. I'm around 6". Having said that, the S14 had a sunroof which was probably the issue, however they still feel quite cramped, i'd hate to have a crash in one.... The R33 is nice and comfortable to sit in, more room up front as ppl say (the back is still useless). I've heard that the S15 has a "cheap" interior which rattles to shit, and that the 6sp box isn't that great.
  19. Hey guys, Anyone with a stock R33 shifter? I'm not sure if they're all the same, so I'd prefer to get one off a GTS-T. Pretty sure there wouldn't be a difference between the series 1 and 2....
  20. easiest way is to pull out the whiteline catalogue for R33s and 34s and see if the part numbers match up.
  21. Not having sat in S1 seats, but I much prefer the S2 ones.
  22. It could be that series 1 owners in japan have replaced their parts with series 2 parts. or that Nissan had the series 2 parts in stock to build s2 r33s but had some s1 parts left over, and hence the crossover.
  23. Hi Chris, Im planning on doing that, but also adding a switch in so I can stop the antenna coming out when playing CDs .. sure it's manual but there's no need for it to be out when playing CDs. 7750 not Upper end enough? sheesh.. I know it's not the most expensive model.. what if I got a harness for the 8650 or 9650 then? Same plugs hey? I know Pioneer can supply replacements .... does the deck need to support it?
  24. eh not sure .. but when I got my quote, that's what convinced me to buy a Skyline. Sure I love jap cars, but if it were costing me 2+K a year for insurance like what some of you guys are payin .. i'd say bugger it!
  25. move to Perth! I'm 21 with a 96 GTS-T insured for 23k, paid 1146 thru Just Car full comprehensive, with 40 or 50% NCB.. cant remember exactly.
