  3. Kimi win!! Bring on the riveting post race interview
  4. Yes i know it's not for NSW, but will be paying close attention as the same rules apply here. You have 20days after rego expires to renew, and when you do it backdates back to the date it expired, yet i "think" if you drive during that period you get fined for being unregistered. Not to mention you get gouged for fees during which you're not supposed to be driving the vehicle. THE STATE'S car registration system is being investigated amid concerns it may be operating illegally. If that is the case, thousands of car owners could claim compensation for being charged fees for periods during which their vehicle was not officially registered. At present, if a motorist renews a registration up to 90 days after it has expired, the new registration applies from the original expiry date - not the date on which it was paid, unless a $15 fee is applied. The state Attorney-General has asked the Crown Solicitor's Office to determine whether this was within the law. The investigation was sparked by motorist John Staszynski, 66, after he was fined $375 late last year for driving his vehicle two weeks after the registration had expired. When Mr Staszynski renewed his registration for three months he was told the registered period applied from the expiry of his old registration - which included the time he was driving unregistered. "I was effectively receiving a registration period of two weeks less than I had paid," Mr Staszynski said. "It seemed they wanted it both ways - to fine me for being unregistered then retrospectively charge registration for that same period." The Clearview resident said he first challenged the matter in the Magistrates' Court where he was fined only $100 because the magistrate couldn't determine if the Transport Department was within its rights to apply a renewal retrospectively. Mr Staszynski then wrote to his local MP, Attorney-General John Rau. Mr Rau referred the legality of the actions to the Crown Solicitor's Office and said that he was awaiting its advice. Law Society of SA president John White said if the advice went against the department "the potential is, there might be some money that's been paid (by motorists) that should be repaid". http://www.news.com.au/money/cost-of-living/south-australias-rego-system-being-investigated-for-illegalities/story-fnagkbpv-1226596004473
  5. lol, and there's your answer. If we did a section for every model based on how many there are, V36 would probably be last on the list. (nothing to do with the car, just the number of owners) And it's a def no, it won't be happening.
  6. for your grand kids kids maybe. But you won't be turning that into any huge profit in our lifetime But agree with the guy above you. For $130k i would have a play with the 32 and buy a 35. Compared to a 32 i would be too scared to reverse out of the drive. Every time you roll that thing out you'd be eating into your investment. My opinion aside, good luck to the guy, would be great for 32's if he gets anywhere near that.
  7. Yeah, they go ok Sadly i think this car suffered a suspension issue towards the end, but there's no doubt they have the pace. Can't wait to see them at the 12hr. Been going for a few years and it's an awesome event, now will finally have someone to "really" cheer for.
  8. Am i seeing things, did you really just post that on a public forum while still in the process of trying to sort things out?? Ballsy!
  9. Yep, definitely agree. There are countries where a driving test lasts days not 35mins, and part of the test is not only basic maintenance and things like changing tires on the side of the road, but first aid as well. I think doing it in school is not the right spot, but it should be included as part of the licence process.
  10. you're thinking of the NISMO edition. There were 500 of those which were standard R32's but with NISMO aero, and a couple of other little bits. The N1's were different and only 228 were made.
  11. pretty good showing by the datto's for day 1. 5th overall, 0.5 off 1st, and hopefully show's they'll be in the mix. Loving the sound of the Mercs, but have they left it too late?? Best Merc was 2secs off the pace. I think around 15th out of 25 cars.
  12. And the "bucket of sh!t" look was awesome when one person did it, but now you're just copying the last tosser.
  13. Couldn't agree more. Spends $13k on the car, which is what around $20k in parts here, and then basically slaps on old panels to make it look like a bucket of sh!t yeah you is awesome dude
  14. Hang on so you paid $X thousands for a crap car because you wouldn't get your $1k back? Doesn't make financial sense. That aside if they had no right to keep your deposit i would camp my a$$ on the front driveway of the lot and have a chat to every customer that walked in until they returned it. D!ckheads they may be, but sorry dude, your scenario is your own fault.
  15. ^ congrats dude, the cars look stunning. Really hope they and Nissan mix it with Ford and Holden. I'm actually quite pumped for this year and will def get out to races in NSW. Haven't watched a race on telly for years let alone been out to one, but can't wait now.
  16. I like! But go the datto's!! Should hopefully get a chance to get out to EC on Sat for testing, and if i can will try and grab some pics.
  17. last N1 i saw would have been around $30k landed with 120000 on the clock, a couple of small mods and no log books. ADM's can really vary as there have been immaculates go up around $60k and others are struggling to get high 30's
  18. ^ bastard! was saying to a mate how the hell do you get a gig like that. I reckon he had more laps around the track this weekend than half the actual competitors
  19. Got home not long ago and was an awesome weekend. Camping behind the pits in last nights storms was, well, interesting to say the least, but all part of the fun Can't wait till next year. Heaps more people this year compared to last, especially on the Friday so hopefully it just gets bigger and bigger each year. The sounds those 458's make are truly unbelievable and the Merc's sound so effortless. Hopefully we'll get an R35 GT3 car next year. The only down side was the support races need to lift their game. Way to many incidents and at one stage yesterday went through 3 categories and a few hours without a lap being run in anger. All under safety car.
  20. you'd be surprised how many street versions had them fitted in japan. Yet to see a 32 N1 without a radio and have seen 1 worldwide without the a/c and that one's in canada. Here's its moment of fame in the Tele a few years back
  21. There's a fair few around the boards and i think in this thread. Other than a Nistune to correct the ecu to Aus fuels and a Trust boost controller to stop boost spikes she's pretty much standard. Oh and has a NISMO exhaust from the period of the car. Thats it. Actually it does have air-con and a radio which are mods for the N1 Here's a couple but probably repeats
  22. nah have had it for almost 5yrs. did buy it off a delaer who had it on ebay, but the plates were put on by me well after def Aus 32's are the rarest of the mass production 32's.
  23. 228 over 3 years N1 racing was massive back in the 32 days and a whole heap of them went straight to the track and never saw the street.
  24. 2 asses are better than 1 right ??
  25. sounds great and would love to come but will probably do the cruise for a cause on that day. Make it this weekend coming, I'm heading up for the bathurst 12hr, cruise and watch some racing, win win win
