  1. I saw a silver coupe the other day as well on Paramatta Rd at the entry to the M4. Looked like it had imitation Volk GTC's or maybe real onces, but they looked a little weird. Could be my eyes :-)
  2. Yeah, 2k sounds insanely cheap for brand new 19" Professors. I was looking for months for wheels in Japan, and you'd be struggling to get a decent second hand set for that much. Almost every brand new wheel I looked at in 19" from a decent maker, would be pushing $3.5k to $4k once landed in Australia. Plus taxes on top.
  3. BBK = Big Brake Kit Think, Endless, Ap Racing, Brembo F50 etc 6 piston fronts, 4 piston rears, Consider selling limbs or a small child - seriously though I think there upwards of $6k as a starting point.
  4. Like when the media "didn't" report that guy who was racing in the commodore and killed the elderly couple. Are you serious? Dude it's got nothing to do with the media. Plain and simple it's got to do with a pi$$ed fu(kwit who should be shot on site, not locked up.
  5. Hey Rache, I'll try and find who I got them from , but it was a vendor on G35Driver.com. Look in the classifieds section, you'll find heaps. I've found that these are the best prices. Sign up and send some PM's, they get back to you pretty quick, and most are happy to ship to Australia.
  6. exactly, the fact the drivers were let off clearly shows that the whole saga was purely there to appease Ferrari. If they were guilty kick them out. The whole team, if not then completely leave them alone. This decision allows F1 to have a potenital new poster boy in Hamilton should he win, and Ferrari get the constructors championship. It's all about $$'s. Nothing else.
  7. What a load of crap! I still fail to see how McLaren is responsible for a bitter ex Ferrari employee. At the end of the day, even if Mclaren saw details on every aspect of the Ferrari car, and copied everything wouldn't that make them even in terms of performance. But no, Mclaren hands Ferrari it's a$$ and so how is this fixed, strip them of all points. Just goes to show that if you sook long enough people believe what you're saying. As for the fine, it's $100 million, MINUS any loss of income from the fact they stripped of points. Therefore fine = $0. It's funny how this whole saga is about cheating, and the fix is for F1 and Ferrari to cheat and strip McLaren of their points. It was quite evident long ago that everything was being done to stop Mclaren winning. Afterall the financial impact to Ferrari would be devestating - a season with no Schuey and major prizes would have cost them millions in future revenue. Oh well, the F1 now has one less fan to worry about.
  8. The standard non brembos on the V35 are quite good. Definately slotted rotors can be better than stock (depending on which ones). I tried to change my pads a while back, and got my brakes place to order in a set of 350Z non brembo pads from Bendix, the new SRT pads. When they came in we checked the size and the V35 pads were bordering on twice the size. I've contemplated trying the 4 pot callipers from R33's and R34's but it seems that these also have smaller pads. So going with the idea of a larger pad equals more surface area braking, I've pretty much decided to stick with stock callipers. I'm also looking to order a set of HAWK pads from the US soon. With delivery these are equivalent to what I would pay here, and a lot of the US guys swear by them. Very good alround performance, no sqealing and minimal dust. You can get pads such as Endless and the like from Japan, but again going of reviews from the US, the HAWKS seem the best value for money by far. Cheers Bobby
  9. Something like that would be great, I'm really looking to learn about using tools to get rid of scratches and how to touch up paint chips. Once the paint is up to spec, I've got it covered, have done my car with Zaino and am quite happy with it. But wouldn't have a clue about prepping bad paint . This is the last time i used Zaino on the V35, but this was easy cause the paint is in great condition.
  10. thanks Frank, Chris, will this be a plug and play for the series II as well? Bobby
  11. Hey Guys, Anyone know somewhere in Sydney that teaches car detailing? cheers
  12. My bad on the years, screwed the maths up. Completely agree with everything you've said which what I was getting at. Pay for a nice example. There are a lot of 32 GTR's on the market for ridiculously cheap asking prices which to be honest I wouldn't buy with someone else's money. The reason I mentioned a re built one is simply because in a lot of cases these cars are selling for similar prices, and there is nothing wrong with a freshly built engine if it was done right.
  13. Hey mate, Welcome, there has been heaps of discussion on this all over the forums, but the long and short of it, is 32 GTR's are quite old cars now, with the youngest being ~18yrs old. In most cases these cars are owned by people who know what they are and therefore drive the pants of them. The 34's are much newer, and on that alone you could argue that it owuld be a much more realiable car. If I was looking for a 32 GTR in today's market, I would aim for one which has already had a rebuilt engine, and the owner has evidence to show what and with what parts was done. Alot of people also mistakenly think low km "fresh" imports from Japan are the go. In 99% of cases the K's would have been wound back, and believe in japan they drive the cars just as hard as you or I would over here. But the best advice is prepare to pay for a good example if you want a nice 32 GTR, and whatever you budget for the car, makesure you can afford another 10k at the drop of the hat for maintenace. should you need it.
  14. Hey Frank, Would you consider doing another car? Mine is the 05, non BOSE but should be similar. I'm in Syd as well. PM me if you like on how long it will take and your price. I can take everything apart and help you as well, but am pretty hopeless with the rest of it. Cheers Bobby
  15. Exactly! My 19" rays will weigh much less than most of the crap 17" wheels you can get from most wheel shops here in Aus. Being forged, they're lighter and stronger. Looks in one thing, if thats what you want, but to say bigger than 18" is shit, is utter rubish. Yes, they'll be heavier than the same rim in a smaller size, but I'd take a high end Rays/AME/BBS 19" wheel over 17/18 rubbish like Lenso/Koya etc any day of the week. Do a search and find out how many people have bent high end rims such as these.
  16. From what I've read, it's luck of the draw. Some have had the car for years without a problem others have bought brand new motors and have had probs again. It's definately not a problem with EVERY car. My opinion is that every car has it's issues. The good thing with my experience with Nissan's is that the issues are generally not thousand dollar issues, and more little annoying things. In the end you get what you pay for. People sometimes forget that the V35 for what it is, is a very very cheap car. Similar performance, similar looks, similar equipment in most other cars, and you'll be laying out $100k.
  17. There is a NISSAN "sports horn" you can get, but no idea what it sounds like.
  18. I just bought 19's for my V35. RAYS SF Challenge, and are only around 9-10kgs per wheel. Same as Abo Bob, re the guards. On a V35, even 19's look too small without it lowered. Personally the correct 19's don't necessarily look Autosalon (not that there's anything wrong with that ). Especially on a car with big wheel wells.
  19. Having a V35, I've been on the US forums for a while and can tell you that the VAST majority of people really dislike the "bling" factor when it comes to their cars. In fact most people with V35's/G35's go for either a minimalist classy looking car, or a track looking car. Yes there definatley is still more bling than here, but not as bad some think. Especially in the G35/350z scene. for e.g cheapo chrome wheels are really really frowned upon. Most G35/350z's have wheels, that with tyres would set you back over $5k here. Rays/Volks and Works are the most common, mainly in 19' with some massive dish. Very nice looking. And nearly always, the weight of the wheels in an important factor when buying, which is why forged is always the go over there. The good part is that the volume of cars other there also means parts are much cheaper in the long run. e.g - I got my Tein springs for $300 Australian delivered from the US. To buy them here was around $600, and over $500 from Japan. Personally I think the GTR going global is a good thing. Regardless of where they sell it you will always have people who put crap on a nice car. Some of the mods i see on R32/33/34's make me wanna cry. Think annodised wipers :laughing-smiley-014:
  20. Nice find, great read. Very interesting to find Motul is not really that good (based on the data in the thread). I say this because I was speaking to a brakes place which does a fair few race cars, and they said that people are turning away from Motul for both engine and brake fluid in droves cause they really don't like the oil, and I know Motul is a favourite in these forums. I've used Mobil 1 for years and based on the above will continue to do so.
  21. I'm no expert, but don't worry about the extra power. Learn the lines and your cars limits. I've been to track days where the right driver in a NA silvia, was running rings around high power GTS-T's and some stockish GTR's. Upping the boost will more than likely increase your chance of comming off the track when you mash the pedal coming out of a corner. Once you get comfy, by all means turn it up, but probably not really necessary.
  22. Awesome vids It'll be an awesome effort to get anywhere near 7. The quickest cars in world are doing 7min times. Personally I think the new GTR will be somewhere between 7 1/2 and 8 mins. You might be refferring to the below list which has the GTR at 7.15, which i think is pure crap. Physics alone means there is no way a car as big and heavy with the rumoured power could achieve this time. But - would love to be wrong on this one. 7:12* -- 173.600 km/h -- Radical SR3 Turbo, 320 PS/500 kg (test drive 07/03) (*mfr.) 7:14.89 172.181 km/h – Donkervoort D8 270 RS, , 350 PS/600 kg, Michael Düchting (nov,6 05), http://autoweek.nl/newsdisp.php?cache=no&ID=4199 7:15* -- 170.48 km/h -- 2008 Nissan GT-R, 450 PS/??? kg (*mfr.) provisional entry, www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/208327/nissan_gtr.html 7:15.63 169.311 km/h -- Edo Porsche 996 GT2 RS, 542 PS/1284 kg, Patrick Simons (sport auto 09/05), www.edo-competition.de/fileadmin/MEDIA/VIDEO/nordschleife_runde.avi www.chpltd.com/911_porsche_world/ringmeister.html 7:18.01 170.236 km/h -- Donkervoort D8 RS, 370 PS/670 kg, Michael Duechting, sport auto 12/2004, >>> http://speed.supercars.net/PitLane?viewThr...2&tID=13957 7:19* -- 168.929 km/h -- Radical SR3 1500 Turbo, Phil Bennet (jun,15 03) (*mfr.), www.radicalmotorsport.com/news_folder/nordchliefe/index.php , www.radicalsportscars.com/gallery/ring2b.mpg 7:28 --- 166.652 km/h -- Porsche Carrera GT, 612 PS/ 1475 kg, Walther Roehrl,(Autobild 07/04) 7:32* -- 164.071 km/h – Pagani Zonda F, 650 PS/ 1230 kg (*mfr.) www.autodrome-cannes.com/index-eng.asp 7:32* -- 164.071 km/h – Porsche 997 GT2, 530 PS/ 1440 kg (*mfr.) 7:32.44 163.911 km/h -- Porsche Carrera GT, 612 PS/ 1475 kg, definitive time Horst von Saurma (sport auto 01/04) 7:32.52 163.882 km/h -- Gemballa Porsche GTR 600 EVO, Wolfgang Kaufmann (sport auto 01) , www.gemballa.com/news/gtr6002.html
